How often do you think of someone? Not someone you are dating, but just a friend, someone you speak with semi-often but not too close friends with.

I find myself thinking about people all the time. So much, in fact, that if I were to dictate or mention how often I thought of a friend, it would seem more than platonic, even if it is just a mere word association.

I'll hear a place, a name and it will bring that person, their face, their name to mind. I will see a name, a food, a drink, or even a hobby of my friend and think of them.

Just a thought here. Opinions and whatnot welcome.

So I've been here lately... sort of. I have been in the hospital with mom since Sunday afternoon, she went in to the ER Saturday morning, not able to keep anything down and vomiting up blood and 'coffee grounds.'

They tentatively said she has gastritis, an inflammation of the lining of the stomach. they've done x rays and a series of cat scans, and she has more tests scheduled in a few hours. She is finally able to sleep, after not getting any sleep since Friday night.

Her potassium when she came in was 2.3, and at last check this morning was 2.8. Normal levels are between 3 and 5. She was told on Sunday that if she could eat and keep it down she could go home today. Nothing is appetizing to her, she's on a full liquid diet and there are so few things she is able to eat, what with the previous gastric bypass in 2003.

She is in a lot of pain from the gastritis, and morphine is barely taking the pain level from ten to a five.

We have no idea when she is going home, and there is no hope of it being tomorrow because of all the tests.

I really wish this chair would lie flat, as sleeping is sub par, but mom wants me here. I do plan on going home tomorrow night, because I made plans to catch up with a friend on Wednesday, though I'd come back on Wednesday before visiting hours were over. Hopefully she can come home Wednesday or Thursday though.
