Warning: bit of medical-gross-icky stuff ahead.
So.. as you all know I had surgery about three months ago. I had a small issue with one of my incisions-turned-scars. The middle of the scar had a soft spot in it, and it contained a small bit of pus. This was 1 month post op. My surgeon told me it was too far out for me to get an infection from surgery, and it was nothing to worry about. It cleared up less than a week later.
Fast forward to about two days ago, and the 'soft spot' returns. It grew yesterday. It is painful, very tender to the touch. This morning, it 'popped.' I got to my niece's school for a nursery rhyme parade, went to put some gauze and neosporin on the spot and found it had ruptured. There was a bit of blood on my shirt, more in my belly button (the scar is about 3/4" to 1" above my belly button horizontally) and it had not scabbed.
And my doc told me it was nothing to worry about. Think my post-op visit is too far gone to go in and it still be covered?
