People are just a little too odd for me sometimes. I need to find someone like me so that I can relate to them better. It's funny how we get called 'weird' for the way we dress and the music we listen to and thd lifestyle we choose, when so many of the 'normal' people are odder than we are.
I think I just need to find someone who thinks the way I do and keep them around for a while.. any takers? :)
I spent this past weekend out on the paintball field. it was Flagswipe's 'Piranhastan V' big game on sunday, and the scenario 'royal rumble' on Saturday.
god what fun! Saturday was like stepping back in time to the late 80's/early 90's as far as paintball goes.. 5 teams all starting at different flag stations all at once in a free for all! Ahhh, those were the days!
Sunday.. well... I got to be the 'general' for the allied forces in this one and had the honor of having 'blues crew' from the US on my team. Don't know who blue's crew is? Prolly the most famous scenario team out there right now! the day wore on, fun was had, and in the end, surprisingly, my team won!! wow!
I came home exhausted and wiped out, yet still needing to go into work for 9pm.. did it with a smile on my face though! something about getting out there and letting loose with a paintball marker really gives you a cathartic experience..
Now i'm looking forward to the next game..
Remember back when I said that I was working on this new job? Well it finally happend this week... I started this past Monday working nights at tnt...
What's tnt you ask? Well, where I work, we assemble parts for the LAV's (Light Armored Vehicle) that are built by General Dynamics up here in London. After months of trying to get in there, it's nice to finally be there. The schedule keeps me on straight nights now... sunday to thursday at tnt, friday and saturday at Cowboys...
doesn't give me much of a social life, but let's me make lots of money and save lots of money!! yeay! A few months of this and I'll be back in a great situation again... funny how things always work out!
A few entries ago, I went on and on how I thought some big things were going to happen this summer.. well, it looks like they're starting to begin!
First, I met in person a fellow vr'er who's now moving here for work... we get along really well, and I look forward to building on our friendship!
Second, work is finally panning out in a way that looks to be good for me. More hours, more pay, benefits package.. all the stuff i've been looking for.
It's a good start and it feels as though this is still just the beginning. I've been talking with friends recently and have been discovering things about myself that have really allowed me to grow, yet maintain my 'youthful exuberance' to quote a parent..lol..
Just thought I'd share!
Oh ya, I HAVE to laugh.. I just have to.. I was right, you lied.
