I didn't ask to shine!
cried the lonely newest star.
Then you didn't wish to live!
spoke the darkness from afar.
My shine will invite pain!
the star keened in despair.
Your pain will make you shine!
vowed the darkness from her lair.
The other stars seem far!
the infant star bemoaned.
They circle you the center!
the darkness did intone.
So I am not alone?
The timid star did ponder.
You are loved by all!
The darkness spoke in wonder.
Do you love me as well?
Said the star upon the night.
I love you most dearly!
said the night to her bright light.
You will never leave me?
The little star implored.
I am of you and you of me!
the darkness told her ward.
Please teach me how to shine!
The star urged the dark mother.
Night informed her lonely child,
Don't seek it from another!
Your shine comes from within!
the darkness did impart.
Find love of self my little star
be true to your own heart!
For in it you will find me!
The darkness did attest.
The little star felt comfort
and fears were laid to rest.
Silver strands of memory
flicker across the face
fitted in glorious splendor
a design of infinite space
Tendrils of adversity
may cause the ends to fray
æon beckons a champion
its needle to end dismay
A dark crown of tranquil calm
shall ensconce the king of night
dawn's golden gown of serenity
will array the queen of light
Upon the reawakening
the soul shall know its peace
fly high O' wings of discovery
for the suffering to cease

very cute but with a poignancy behind it that raises questions and gives strength
