Life or Death Part 2: The Journey Begins
By Morigetsu
The darkness of the sky slowly began to fade away as light slowly emerged to wake up the sleeping land and all its inhabitants. Michieru was asleep in his room when he woke up by the filtered light. The day had already begun and soon the journey would take place. The sleeping effects still lingered on in his mind as he shook off the sleepy effects of early morning. He went over to a small basin that was already prepared. He placed his hands in the chilly water to wake up. He splashed the cold water on his sleepy face and woke up full of chilly energy that got his full attention. He then wiped his hands and went over to his wardrobe to prepare for the day. He took out some outfits Draco had prepared for his journey, some that were meant for warm climates, some for cold, and the rest for emergency use.
There was a knock at the door. Michieru went to go answer it. He opened the door and Draco stood before him.
"I know Draco, it'll be time soon. I assume the others are asleep?"
"Yes young master. I came by to help you out with your packing. Did you manage to get a goodnight's rest? The journey ahead of us will be long and there's no telling what might happen on the way. I'd figured this would give us some time alone to prepare and talk, for what might happen next, I'll never know. I've always dreaded this day would come soon, but not this fast. If something were to happen to you, I don't know what we all will do. This fight alone rests in the balance of your pure heart, young master."
Michieru shed a tear as he was taken surprised by Draco's speech.
"I know Draco. I promise nothing bad will happen to me. I'll be with my friends, and you certainly know there's safety in numbers. But I promise you this; I will do my best to destroy Glasya and her minions. We can't have her take control over both realms. The darkness must be destroyed once and for all."
10 minutes have passed and Michieru was already packed for the journey. Now it's just a matter of time to wake up the others. Michieru sighed at the thought as he came to Shin's door. He knocked. No answer. He knocked again. Still no answer. Michieru opened the door to check him. Shin was still sleeping; his innocent looking face made it hard for Michieru to wake him up. Yet he knew he had to get the others up and going for the journey ahead will definitely be a long one.
"(I'm sorry to do this to you Shin, but you leave me no choice. Please don't hate me for this)", Michieru thought as he cupped up a small amount of cold water to wake up the sleeping Torrent. SPLASH! Michieru dumped the cold water onto Shin's face and woke him up with such a fright.
"MICHIERU! Why did you wake me up with cold water?! I nearly jumped out of my skin when you did that! Why couldn't you wake me up normally?"
"I did, you dunce! I kept knocking at your door and you didn't respond. We're suppose to be ready by know, and still everyone else………"
All of a sudden, the hallways were filled with shocking yells of surprise as Michieru was about to finish his sentence.
"Ummmm, never mind. I guess Beatrice and her friends woke up the others. Now I guess you get my point. We're probably not going to sleep good for a while cause its going to take a few days by horse to get to the town we're heading to next. So get packing right now and meet me in the library. I'll see you later."
Michieru exited Shin's bedroom. Michieru closed the door as he left and went on ahead to the library. Shin was puzzled, but knew he was right. The journey to the town of Spring would take a few days by horse to get there. He quickly got dressed and packed up. Shin exited his room with the stuff and ran down the stairs to the library. Everyone else was there, just waiting for Shin. Michieru was seated with Draco looking over a big map that was placed upon the table. Draco was finishing up marking the destinations on the map for Michieru so he wouldn't get lost. Michieru rolled up the map and placed it inside a scroll holder. He then faced the guys who waited patiently for him.
"In just a few minutes, our journey will start. Once we all go forward, there's no turning back. This journey rests within our impact and we must not fail for it decides the fate of our realm's safety. There's no telling what challenges lay ahead of us and what casualties may take place. I do know that as long as we all keep fate alive within all of hope and us in each other, we shouldn't have any problems. Our first stop lies in the town of Spring. Unfortunately, it will not be easy to get inside there because there's a special shield inside the town that prevents magic being used. So I can't teleport us there cause my magic will also be prevented as well. That should be all to worry about, for now. Our horses await us in the courtyard. Let's depart now."
Michieru and the others left the library and proceeded down the stairs. They encountered a big iron door that led to the courtyard. Michieru pushed the door with all his might and managed to open the heavy iron door. The horses were packed with rations and other necessities for the long journey. As Michieru mounted on his horse, Beatrice appeared before him.
"Michieru, before you go, I want to give you something. (Hands over a special amulet). Please wear this necklace for my sake. It should protect you from harm because your mother's loving energy radiates from within these crystal shards. She told me once that if her son was to ever go on a dangerous journey, please give him my amulet so where ever he may go, my love will always be there to protect him."
Michieru shed a tear as Beatrice began to cry. He placed his hand on her shoulder.
"I promise I'll come back, Beatrice. I'll be thinking about you, Draco, and the other inhabitants of the castle. Please don't cry, you'll make me sad."
Beatrice smiled when she heard Michieru's comforting voice. She nodded and waved as Michieru and his friends trotted off to the town of Spring. Yet, while trying to move on, Michieru choked a little gasp as he tried to fight off the sadness that was hurting as he tried to brace for strength for Beatrice and the others in his heart. The warm morning winds fluttered his cloak as he and the others headed into the direction where the winds were beginning to pick up. The sun's distant rays felt good on his skin as the little chilly winds began to dissipate for the day. The clouds even were turning from golden to true white day clouds.
The group slowly trotted to a forested crossroad that led in three directions. Michieru took out the scroll from his mount and opened it. "Draco said to move into the direction to the left according to the coordinates he gave us…." Michieru was interrupted by a weird scream that headed over into the north.
"Let's go see where that scream came from first and then retrace back here," said Seigi. The entire party went north into the direction where the weird shout came from. As they got closer and closer to the location, fiery smoke could be smelled with the rotten scent of bad meat. Michieru's eyes widened with shock as he witnessed a group of children being held hostage by a band of marauders dressed in black garbs while holding daggers that appeared to have been dipped in poison. Their eyes glowed a dark red that sent shivers into the poor children being held hostage. Michieru leaped from his horse and held out his armor orb. "Armor of Snowfalcon, transform!" As Michieru became one with his armor, the others transformed. The fiends took one look at the air-born warriors about to slice them open and shrieked violently, vaporizing into a black mist and slowly dissipated. As they began to untie the captured children, growls appeared to echo out throughout the surrounding vicinity.
"IT'S A BLOODY AMBUSH! PROTECT THE CHILDREN," Shin yelled frantically. The Ronins began to form a circle of protection as each member stood at the correct five points of the circle and stood in unity with their armors. A force of light that keeps the evil away from their boundaries automatically protects the children. As the ronins leap out of the circle, they carry with them their weapons as the fight continues.
Meanwhile, Michieru and his friends are trying to scout out where the hidden enemies are coming from. The echoed yells unfortunately made it quite difficult for the party to directly locate since the shrieks deafened the entire area. Christian took out an arrow from his case and loaded the ammo into the crossbow. As he began to concentrate all his psychic energy into the arrow, a bright blue glow emitted and locked the coordinates where the enemy party was. He released the arrow into the southwest direction and heard a grisly scream that sent chills into everyone.
"They're over there! Let's get'em!" Robert yelled. Brian threw a firebomb into the enemy's party and sent them crashing into scattered directions, thus also making them puff into smoke. Robert took a swing with his battle sword and took a great slice out of one of the fleeing members, thus ending its life. Michieru took out his sacred sword and began to concentrate all his energy on the remaining enemies left behind. The winds began to pick up as his kanji symbol of sincerity began to glow on his forehead. As he lifted his sword to the sky, he felt the power of the forest giving him strength and balance to crush the last wave of attack by the marauders. His aura glows brightly as he begins the chant of his attack.
"SOLAR DELTA STORM!" The incredible force of Michieru's attack sent quakes of energy throughout the entire forest, instantly destroying the marauders. As the bright glow from Michieru's body began to disappear, Michieru fell down to his knees as a result from the great energy he released. Christian ran over to Michieru to help him up.
"Thanks buddy, it's been a long time since I ever had to release so much strength against an enemy party. I guess I need to tone it down before I go into overload and end up like the "Bride of Frankenstein" with my hair standing up in all ends" Michieru chuckled. Everyone, including the children laughed at Michieru's joke in relief. The Ronins summoned back their armor and finished untying the children. The other party caught up to see how the others were doing.
After what seemed to be like five minutes of calming down towards the children, Toma managed to get one of them to speak.
"We were on our way towards a festival that was going to take place in Spring when suddenly these big meanies jumped down out of the trees and captured us. They wanted to sacrifice us to their dark god Selvnage, creator of nightmares and minion to Glasya. Said something about trying to create a trap for certain warriors trying to foil a supreme plan having to do with two realms; one here and the other in a world unheard of. I guess that by attacking the bad guys, they wanted to see how balanced all of you were so that they can study and try to find weak spots, if at all possible……" The child begins to cry lightly. Toma bends down to wipe away the tear for comfort. The kid smiles.
"That's quite low to get our attention dudes! Tying up little tykes on a trip to a festival and scaring them shitless. I've got a good mind to…"
"Relax Shu. We all feel the same way. But what's more important right now is to try to figure out where to take the next turn from this point. We already feel into a trap unexpectedly, and now we got to find a way to be prepared for the next encounter. Who knows what will happen next?" Robert said with a tap on the shoulder.
Life or Death: The Sacrifice of Inner Light
By Morigetsu
Part 1
Back at college, Michieru was sitting in his dorm recalling the past events that took place in his life. He thought about the time back at high school when he took his senior friend to his first junior prom. He also thought about the time his senior agricultural class went to the zoo for their studies. However, he still had that painful memory about the battle against Dark Feather. He still wouldn't forget how Dark Feather paralyzed his friends and made him furious.
"If it wasn't for my rage, I wouldn't have had the opportunity to transform my armor to the next level in order to weaken him," he thought.
Just then, Shin entered the room with his lunch.
"Hey Michieru, you really should eat something. What's on your mind love?" 5 minutes passed with silence from Michieru. Shin placed his lunch on the table, went over to the bunk bed, and climbed up the ladder to the top bed. He placed his right hand on Michieru's shoulder.
"Michieru, I know you're still frightened from the battle. But, we all made it back alive and you and Ryo really kicked Dark Feather's ass. You'll feel a lot better if you had something to eat," Shin said reassuringly.
"I suppose you're right. Its time I came out of the cave and face the light," Michieru said with a smile. Shin kept watching Michieru as he devoured the lunch quickly down to a minute.
"What's the matter? Never seen a starved teen gobble down his food," Michieru asked puzzled.
"I'm just glad to see you going back to your normal habits. The guys have been worried about you for the past 5 weeks. You know what, just seeing you happy really makes my day go right. And of course, I really don't want to see you get so choked up about issues and stuff. You know very well if you ever had anything on your mind you can tell me anything, just anything to help make you feel better," Shin said with a mysterious smile. "What ever floats your boat compadre," Michieru said with a confused look.
After lunch, Michieru headed to his Japanese language class. He started to daydream in the middle of class while the teacher was giving a brief lecture on the history of Japan. He began to imagine all his friends, both past and present, gather together to celebrate his 20th birthday at a cool techno/trance nightclub. There would be mist machines, laser lights flashing all around, karaoke machines, everything he justs dreamed of came to life. He then saw his old high school friends greeting him at a big table to catch up on life. A giant cake is set on stage and Michieru is asked to come up onto the stage to blow out the candles. As he blows them out, two figures burst out of the cake and flip over to the center stage. They're dressed up in Japanese kimonos with glow-in-the dark makeup on. There was a tall guy long auburn hair and a cute Japanese girl with a funky hairstyle. They each present to Michieru a dagger. One was depicted with the head of a dragon, and the other a pentagram on the hilt. The Japanese girl tells Michieru to come closer so she could whisper something in his ear. This made Michieru blush a bright red. As he got close enough to listen, she speaks.
"Mr. Lunar, what is your theory on pop culture?" Michieru was in a daze and began to speak. "I think that techno music will rule our world."
Just then, he heard loud laughter surrounding him. Michieru comes out of his trance and becomes shocked with embarrassment to realize he was daydreaming.
"Mr. Lunar, does my class bore you or do you need to be confronted with classical music to keep you awake," came a shocked voice from Ms. Kochi.
"Ah, what I meant to say was that origami was the big rave during the 1970's? No I meant that the foo fighters was a big hit in Tokyo," came a startled voice from Michieru. Everyone was now in hysterical laughter. Michieru's face was now turning a bright red with embarrassment.
"Michieru, I don't blame you for being a comedian but there are times you need to be serious. Please see me after class," said Ms. Kochi. Everyone was whistling at poor Michieru. Just then, the bell rings (to the tune of a grandfather clock).
"Tonight's assignment is to practice conversation, don't forget," said Ms. Kochi. Michieru was the last one out and went to see her.
"Mr. Lunar, what am I going to do with you? You're my top student and now all of a sudden you start to daydream. Is everything all right? Do you need some advice? Perhaps you need a break," said Ms. Kochi.
"I was actually thinking about something else but I promise it won't happen again. I'm sorry," Michieru said anxiously.
"Well, I look forward to seeing you tomorrow. Please get a good night's rest," said Ms. Kochi.
Michieru went to his marine biology class. He went to sit next to Shin.
"Hey Michieru, you ready for the big test," Shin asked puzzled.
"If I said it once, I'll say it again, a Lunar is always ready for anything," Michieru said with a warm laughter.
An hour passes by and Michieru is the first to complete his test. He watched the others trying to figure out the answers to the other questions. Michieru began to wonder how his old animal friends were doing.
"I wonder what Artica and Musho are up to now a days. Being grown up certainly has a lot of responsibility. I really miss being little and taken care of by my two best wild animal friends. I always wondered if they'll always remember me" he wondered. The bell rings and everyone heads back to their dorms. Shin decided to walk with Michieru.
"Michieru, feel like walking through the woods after we drop off our stuff in our room," Shin asked.
"Fine with me, I really need to go outdoors once more," Michieru said. By the time they got back to their room, Ryo showed up.
"Hey Michieru, I need a study partner for tonight and I was hoping you would help me," Ryo asked.
"Sure thing Ryo. But first, Shin and I are going to walk through the woods and get supper ready after that. Why don't you ask the guys if they would like to join us for supper, this also means you too," Michieru also asked.
"Fine. What time for supper," Ryo asked confused.
"About 7:30ish," Michieru suggested.
"Alrighty then. See you at 7:30. Ciao," Ryo said. Michieru turns his face towards Shin.
"Hey Shin, could you wait for a second. I want to change my cloths before we go," Michieru asked.
"Sure Michieru," Shin said. Michieru rummaged through the closet. Shin decided to lay down a while. Michieru took off his shirt and pants. When Shin looked at Michieru, he took a sudden interest of his body. There were angel wings tattooed to his back. Above it was a Celtic design that sort of resembled a talisman. He began to look below his back. Michieru was wearing skintight briefs that Shin could see through. Michieru had the most wonderful smooth and rounded ass Shin ever laid his eyes on. He became even more interested in Michieru now more than ever. His eyes were filled with excited lust. His mouth started to drool. Before Shin could do anything else, Michieru turned around while holding two shirts.
"Shin, which one do you think I should wear? This one with the wolf in snow or the wolf with the full moon," Michieru asked.
"Umm, how about the wolf in the snow scene," Shin suggested.
"Yea, I also thought about that," Michieru added. He turned around to pick up a pair of baggy jeans. Michieru puts his cloths on and Shin becomes very disappointed. (Darn it, just as I was beginning to get closer to that sexy body of his. Dam you Michieru, I love you very much. Dammit) Shin thought to himself.
"Well, let's be off," Michieru said. As they entered the woods, Michieru's mind became much calmer than ever. The woods were filled with such beauty by the fall scene. Shin took a sudden interest in the woods.
"Hey Michieru, I'm glad I thought about going here for a while. We should do this more often," said Shin. Michieru was filled with silence, as his eyes became dreamy like with the beauty of the woods. They came upon a white gazebo in the middle of the woods and decided to sit inside. Michieru felt much better now that he got the chance to explore.
"Shin, can I ask you a question," Michieru asked.
"Sure, shoot away. Tell me what's on your mind love," said Shin.
"Well," Michieru began. "I feel like that all the things I need in life are all with me, yet I feel a piece to it is missing. That part happens to be relationship. I've never told anyone this but I really feel lonely even though I have friends and loved ones around. I sometimes cry at night, always wanting to know exactly when these strange pains stop. I just want it to end so I can go on with my life. Do you think that if I was to be in love, that the loneliness would end? Strange isn't it? Michieru asked curiously.
Shin gave a low chuckle as Michieru frowned in strangeness. "Of course everyone comes to this strange term in life, love. Loneliness with the heart is a part of growing up in this time of age. Definitely nothing new. Look at Seigi and Ryo for example; the both of them can't come to terms when it comes to accepting the fact that they're both madly in love with each other whenever they both butt heads. And Toma and Shu? Shu's more open mouthed while Touma tends to be more quiet and alert. But in the end, that doesn't change the fact they both love each other as well. I'm sure that someday you'll find the right soul mate because there's always someone out there for someone else. Don't give up Michieru, I know someday you'll eventually get your chance."
A tear fell down Michieru's cheek. Shin went to brush it off as he smiled to reassure him. Michieru blushed. "Thanks Shin. You're always a true friend to the end." As they looked at the sun, it began to go down for the night. Shin placed his hand on Michieru's shoulder.
"Well, I think we should head in now and get supper ready," Shin suggested. Michieru nodded.
By the time they got back it was already 7:07 p.m. Michieru peered into the fridge.
"How about some pasta with garlic bread and mushroom Maki with a bit of ginger," Michieru asked.
"Sounds great to me. Let's get cooking," Shin suggested. Michieru prepared the pasta and garlic bread while cooked the sushi rice and prepared the rolls. There came a knock at the door. Michieru went to answer it.
"Hey guys! Just crash over at the couch. Supper's almost ready," Michieru said. Ryo, Seigi, Toma, and Shu entered the room. They smelled the sweet scent of the food and another scent of burning rain incense. There were lit candles on the table.
"Michieru really has it made. I really like his paper lantern collection. It reminds me of home," Toma said.
"We really should do something nice in return for Michieru and Shin. But, Michieru really deserves all the credit and he always cooks for us whenever there's a crummy meal being served in the cafeteria for supper," Seigi added.
"Well, I have something planned for Michieru tonight," Ryo said.
"What did you have in mind," Seigi asked. Ryo went to whisper into Seigi's ear. His face blushed with embarrassment.
"Do you think that he's ready for that? Shin has always had his eye set on him ever since the day they first met. If you take him away, there would certainly be war, along with me, Wildfire" said Seigi.
"You're just jealous because you wanted to do more with him ever since the day he kissed you under the mistletoe when he was becoming hyper active after drinking Shin's home made eggnog," Ryo barked back at Seigi. Both guys were growling underneath their breath at each other. Michieru entered the room.
"Supper's ready. Umm guys, is something wrong," Michieru asked. Both guys went into shock.
"Um, nothing wrong at all. We're just practicing for the talent show. Right Seigi," Ryo asked puzzled. "Yea, we're just practicing," Seigi said with a puzzled expression. Both Shu and Toma shook their heads in disgrace after Michieru turned around while Ryo and Seigi were giggling with embarrassment.
Everyone sat down at the table while Michieru and Shin prepared the food.
"I'll have to hand it to you once more Michieru. You really outdone yourself once more," said Shu. "You're just saying that because the only thing you got on your mind is food," said Shin. Everyone laughed. "But, the sushi recipe you made up is different. Instead of fish there's mushroom with a bit of ginger in it," Seigi added. "I wanted to try something different but you really should give the credit to Shin because he made the sushi rolls instead of me," said Michieru. Shin blushed.
By the time everyone finished supper, it was time to go back. While Michieru was finishing with the dishes, Ryo popped his head in the room.
"Yo Michieru. Did you forget about something," Ryo questioned.
"Oh! Sorry I forgot about you Ryo. I promise I'll be done in just a minute. Why don't you go back to your room and I'll meet you there," said Michieru. Ryo went back to his room. Seigi was already lying in bed while reading a book.
"Seigi ol' buddy, could you do me a favor," Ryo asked with a curious tone. "Ryo, is it what I think it is you're going to do to him," Seigi questioned. "Seigi, I can't control my urge towards him whenever he's around. He's such a cutie in his old fashioned ways. And whenever I look into his eyes, I just can't shake off the expression inside of him," said Ryo. "Ryo, promise me you'll go easy on him. If anything ever happens, you'll definitely be facing the wraiths of both Torrent and me! Just promise me you be careful with him. It's probably his first time and he should get the pleasure slow to get adjusted" said Seigi. "I promise Seigi. Now, where do you keep that herbal body massage lotion we experimented with last Saturday night," Ryo asked. "It's in the chest right next to our bed. Just don't use it all," Seigi growled under his breath. "Shin already knows the plan but hasn't told Michieru about it. He said you could sleep in Michieru's bed for the night. Just don't hit your head on his dream catcher," Ryo added. (Poor Shin, I knew he wanted the pleasure to be the first to make love to Michieru. I just feel really bad letting bad boy here taking control of Michieru's delicate body. Hope he survives) Seigi worried in his mind.
Ryo just lit the last candle in his room. "Michieru should love this. It really looks like his sanctuary in the woods and should remind him of home," Ryo thought. A knock came at the door. Ryo went to answer it. "Hi Michieru. I'll be with you in a minute with my work. Make yourself cozy on the sofa," said Ryo happily. Michieru was dressed in a white colored renaissance nightshirt and regular sleep shorts. He went to sit on the sofa. "Wow! Ryo justs knows exactly how to make visitors feel welcome. The incense and candles really make it much cozier. I wonder if he really does this for everyone or is it just me," Michieru thought. Ryo returned in silk pajamas and his books. "Sorry to keep you waiting Michieru. Let's get down to business, hai," said Ryo.
Two hours passed and both guys were still studying. "In 1692, the Salem witchcraft trials begun. 19 were hanged, 5 were burnt at the stake, and 1 was pressed to death for punishment. So in other words, there wasn't much of a justice system back then because they blamed anything unusual on the devil's deeds. Ryo let me tell you that innocent lives were taken. But, it wasn't witchcraft that took place. In some of my studies, it was actually ergot, a strange fungus like thing in the wheat that would develop in the wheat after a ton of rain fell and the wheat was made into bread, that eventually made people sick and would fall into fits. Ryo, do you understand so far or do we need to take a break," Michieru asked. "I think we should take a break because we were studying for so long. How about I make some tea and get out the cookies," Ryo asked. "Fine with me. I needed a break anyway," said Michieru.
Ryo went into the kitchen. Michieru stretched his arms. "I haven't done this in a long time. In fact, I wonder where Seigi is," Michieru thought. 5 minutes passed. Michieru smelled a sweet aroma coming from the kitchen. Ryo came back with the tea and cookies. "Now that's my kind of style," Michieru said with a smile. "Hey Michieru, I wanted to thank you for helping me with this study session. I really should give you something in return. Have you, by any chance, ever had a back massage before," Ryo asked. "I'll have to say I never had a massage before, but I'll let you give me one just because we're good friends," said Michieru. "All you have to do is take off your shirt and lie on your stomach on the couch," said Ryo. Michieru took off his shirt. (He looks very muscular and yet more attractive without the shirt) Ryo thought. Michieru laid down on the couch. Ryo took one of his meditation Cd's and placed it in the stereo system. Music began to play. Michieru could hear the sweet sounds of the babbling brooks and chirping birds.
"In order for me to perform the massage, you must be calm. This music should help. Just relax to the sounds," said Ryo. Michieru felt a little nervous at first, but as the music played for five minutes he felt much better. Ryo began to pour the massage lotion all over his back. He rubbed his hands together to make them warm to the touch. He began to rub Michieru's back. Ryo's gentle hands felt like soft feathers against Michieru's back. "Ryo, your hands feel nice and warm to the touch. Could you do me a favor and undo the rubber band holding my pony tail," Michieru asked. "Sure thing Michieru," Ryo answered gracefully. He took off the rubber band. Michieru's long soft, blue hair fell all the way down behind the back of his knees. Ryo's heart began to pound faster at Michieru's graceful appearance. He moved the delicate hair to the side so he could continue massaging Michieru's muscles. (Ryo's touch is beginning to make me get these strange emotions. I've never felt this way before. Why is there a rush of energy flowing from my stomach to my upper body) Michieru thought. Ryo began to massage Michieru's sides and lower back. Michieru began to get a little turned on by this strange tease as Ryo touched him in his delicate spots.
"Ryo, I want to thank you for this. Its difficult for me to say this but every time I'm around you, I get this strange feeling that wants to make me succumb to your appearance," he whispered. Ryo smiled. He whispered into Michieru's ear. "I…. I love you. Ever since we first met, I've always had my mind on you. I knew at first you had a secret crush on Shin just as he did for you, but I wanted to make you feel more alive, even though both me and Seigi are already in a serious relationship." Ryo answered softly. A tear ran down Michieru's face. "Ryo at first it was hard for me to express my feelings because I was always so choked up about it. Its like you help me learn a piece of myself…." Michieru was interrupted as Ryo softly kissed his neck. Michieru closed his eyes and sighed slowly. Ryo slowly lifted Michieru up as he sat on the couch. He placed him on his lap as he took off his shirt. Ryo put his warm, strong arms around Michieru as he locked his lips with him. Michieru's tongue tasted like a mixture of vanilla bean with toffee. Another tear of joy went down Michieru's face.
Michieru's tattoo began to emit a bright white color. A strong energy surrounded the two guys and teleported them. When Ryo and Michieru opened their eyes, they realized they were some where else. "Michieru, what just happened to us," Ryo asked. "I don't know Ryo. I'm just as puzzled as you are. All I remember was you smooching me in the living room and poof; we're in this strange area. I wish I knew how we got here in the first place," Michieru said puzzled.
Ryo took a look behind Michieru's back and saw his tattoo glowing white. "Well, I think this strange tattoo on your back may be a start. Apparently when we started kissing, it somehow reacted and brought us to this strange dimension. Wherever you got this design, certainly is quite supernatural. Look around us for crying out loud! We're right in the middle of a strange meadow with a waterfall over there to the far left (pointing while speaking at the same time) in some strange land not even discovered. Maybe we should look around that area near the waterfall. Maybe a clue there could help us out," said Ryo.
Both Guys went to explore near the far left where Ryo pointed earlier. Michieru noticed something strange about the land formation where the waterfall was located. "Hey Ryo, look over here! Notice how the water isn't hitting exactly to the back of the cavern? Maybe there's a secret cave entrance we could explore," Said Michieru. Ryo took a double glance and noticed an area opened behind the waterfall. He smiled.
At that instant, Ryo grabbed Michieru by the hand before he could react and took him speedingly at full blast towards the strange entrance. "Ryo, what the hell are you doing?! Let me go before I…" Before Michieru could finish his sentence, Ryo stopped, sending poor Michieru flying head over into the pond with the flowing waterfall. Michieru resurfaces, spitting water out of his mouth with a serious frown on his face as Ryo laughs loud with the lily pad and frog on top of Michieru's head. "Ryo, if you don't help me out of this stupid pond by the time I'm really mad, I'm going to take this frog and shove it up your ass?!" Michieru growled fiercely. Ryo knew Michieru wasn't kidding at that point, so he helped him out. Michieru was definitely drenched by this ordeal, though Ryo couldn't help but pass by a few last chuckles.
As they entered the secret cavern, they entered a room that appeared to have once been an ancient crystal chamber not used for many years. Ancient relics still hung by the sides of the room with ancient symbols inscribed onto them apparently must have been used as wards to keep evil at bay. Michieru then noticed a strange staff with an orb attached to the top. He went over to pick up the strange ritual item.
A bright glowing light began to emanate from the strange orb Michieru touched. Images were flashing in his mind. He didn't realize the images that manifested inside his mind were images of his past lives. A voice entered his mind. "Child of light, beholder of second sight, the innocent one, this is just the beginning. Your heart speaks to me. Your curse has been lifted, but you now possess a new gift. You must no longer fear to be alone. There are those who love you very much, just the same as you care about them. Have faith. Always remember the power of love. Farewell, child of the snow falcon," the voice whispered. Michieru began to cry. "Michieru, what's the matter," Ryo asked. He placed his arms around Michieru's exhausted body.
Before Ryo could do anything else, Michieru fainted. Ryo became frightened. A gentle, soft woman's voice boomed inside Ryo's mind. "Michieru is alright. He's just tired from the strong energy that ran through his body. All of the memories trying to awaken inside of him must have been too much shock for him to handle. All he needs is a good rest and loving friends to protect him. I'm proud of you for guiding him through this important part of his life where he needs his family the most. I wish I could be there to hug my son, but I must guard the spiritual realm from the dark side. Please tell him how much I love him and that I miss him very much. Farewell, Ryo of the wild fire," the gentle voice said. Ryo stood with a blank expression on his face. He went over to lift up Michieru's fainted body and started to warm his exhausted muscles. "Poor Michieru, I hope soon he could find more clues to his real family. Michieru, if you can hear me, I'll always be there for you. The gang won't give up until your true memory is restored. I promised Shin nothing bad to ever happen to you. Please wake up soon," Ryo thought.
Michieru woke up a couple hours later. "Where am I," said Michieru. "You just fainted before. While you were out, I heard your mother's voice. She wanted me to tell you that she loves you very much and misses you. She must have been very beautiful," said Ryo. Ryo gently kissed Michieru on his forehead. "I feel so warm Ryo. I've never felt this way since, well that's just the problem. All I remembered was that I was found in the woods inside a lost temple. I had a fever and was very lucky that a traveling warrior was on his way when he spotted the temple and took care of me. I never knew much about my family. But as of now, I feel as though I was reborn into this world. I'm starting to regain a part of my lost memory. But it hurts so much."
Suddenly, the sky darkens as strange winds started screaming. The crystal room began to emanate strange lights from all over the room. Two white candles in front of a mirror lit instantly as the whole room came to light. Michieru felt himself being taken over by a higher presence as the mirror brought him up and closer to gaze deeply. The mirror became foggy with blue mists as the images became even clearer than before. Michieru's face suddenly became as pale as white, like if he was just frightened. He fainted. Ryo quickly ran to catch him just as he was about to fall onto the ground. Ryo gently placed Michieru on a chair. He went to peer into the mirror. He saw an image of a woman with a striking appearance. Her hair was as black as midnight. Her face and youth makes her very beautiful. But, she also had giant wings like a bat and horns that come out to the side of her forehead. She also had a long, forked tail and copper colored skin. She began to speak. "Even though my father was killed, I will avenge him, starting with the deaths of those foolish ancient shamans and their friends. Once my task is complete, I will rule the world and enslave those foolish humans," she cackled. Her laughter sounded like raging thunder.
Just then, Ryo heard a loud howl. A strange dog-like creature teleported to the room. It looked like a wolfhound, with a head vaguely human, and the forepaws prehensile. It's eyes were amber like color. It began to telepathically communicate inside Ryo's mind. "Are you friend or foe? Why does my master faint so," it asked. "Can you speak my language? I am a friend of your so-called master. He fainted when he looked at this strange woman," said Ryo. The strange dog-like creature came forward. It sniffed Ryo. "You are friend. You have nothing to fear from me. My name is Draco. I am a moon dog. I protect humans and hunt monsters of pure evil. Please let me probe your mind so I can see what happened," he finished.
Draco searched Ryo's mind. "I know your entire origin now and there's no need to explain. That woman you saw is called Glasya. She is the daughter of Dark Feather. She is much worse than her father is. There is a legend among my master's clan. His family was known to possess such strong spiritual powers as well as his clan. Glasya was born at the same time Michieru was born, which was at the stroke of midnight. It is believed that those born exactly at the hour of midnight are gifted with such awesome power. Do thou recall about the theory of yin and yang? Both Michieru and Glasya represent such characteristics. Michieru represents goodness while Glasya is pure evil. It was during the time when Dark Feather was still alive and Michieru was an infant that a huge war broke out. The castle was taken by surprise and almost demolished. Luckily, the queen managed to stop Dark Feather from continuing the rage. Unfortunately, the battle almost drained her completely of all her energy. She had to send Michieru to your world so that no one may harm him. As a result of sending him away with the art she inscribed upon his back, the queen disappeared and became the new guardian of the spirit realm. It was pre-destined that both of them would have to fight each other in order to keep the balance of nature restored. If Michieru wins, peace would reign for eternity. But if Glasya succeeds, pain and torture will wipe out humanity and darkness would reign for all eternity. Michieru must go on a journey as part of his training for the ultimate battle. But, he is going to need the help of clans, yours and his. Your friends shall also learn new powers and fighting techniques. This journey could go on for days. I can make the necessary arrangements among the other servants," said Draco.
Ryo just stood there with a puzzled mind. "The both of you look quite shocked from this ordeal. I'll have Beatrice set up a nice warm bath for the both of you. Oh Beatrice." A small woman with fairy wings teleported. "Yes Draco," said Beatrice. "This is Beatrice. She is a sylph and she'll get you two some cloths. Just follow her. Ahem! Beatrice, would you kindly awake our master," said Draco. Beatrice spoke in her native tongue. Three tiny drops of cold water dabbed Michieru's face. He woke up.
"Thank you for waking me up, who ever you are," said Michieru. Beatrice gave a puzzled expression. "Don't you remember me, master? It's me, Beatrice. Why don't you remember," Beatrice questioned. Michieru looked around quite puzzled by the strangers around him that made him feel a little uneasy.
"You both claim I'm your master, but I wish I could answer. I don't remember anything. All I remember is that I was once found in the woods inside an ancient shrine by an explorer. And that's all I basically know," said Michieru. Draco went up to Beatrice. "Beatrice, I'll explain to you later. But for now, please escort our guests," said Draco. "As you wish," said Beatrice.
Ryo got Michieru up and followed Beatrice. "This temple was established to aid weary travelers in tough times. Michieru's family…" Michieru was about to interrupt when Ryo politely stopped him to let Beatrice continue. "They used their magic to sanctify this world and to protect the weak from evil. It's been a long time since we had visitors enter this realm. Once you two get cleaned up, supper will be served…."
Michieru was still confused and knew he had to say something. "But ah, Beatrice. This temple and everything else is very confusing, and I still don't get the concept of all this. How can we summon our friends to this realm? So-called Draco said I shouldn't go on this so-called journey alone. How is it possible we could summon both our clans," Michieru asked.
"Don't worry master, I'll take care of that once I get the both of you situated. Everything will be done all in good time," said Beatrice. Both Michieru and Ryo were escorted to the bathing room. Inside the room was a big bathtub that must have been able to fit five people at a time. There was sage and jasmine in the air. Roses were placed around the tub, and there were tall pillar candles lit. "We like to make our guests more comfortable and add a relaxing atmosphere to our rooms. The bath is prepared and all the soaps and shampoos as well as the oils are on that shelf. If you need anything my lord, just pull that rope cord and I shall return. Enjoy," said Beatrice. She immediately teleported out of the room. Michieru and Ryo entered the tub. The bath was nice and warm. "Everything else is alright, except for the bubbles," said Michieru. "Michieru, don't you still find all of this confusing? I still can't put two and two together to figure out all these mysterious events," said Ryo. "Yeah, it kinda frightens me, in a way. I wish I knew all about my past, but yet it still remains a blur to me," said Michieru.
"Do you remember when you last told Shin how Dark Feather murdered your family? Was that for real or what exactly happened," asked Ryo. Michieru gave a strange look just to show he was just as puzzled as Ryo was. "That bothers me as well. After the explorer took care of me, he placed me with a tribe he knew where I could be properly raised. It was until then that when I got back from my spiritual quest, I found the village completely deserted. It was attacked by Dark Feather because I guess he knew about me and wanted me killed to prevent me from forming the ancient shaman clan. Yet, I still to this day don't understand Ryo. It really scares me because I don't really know whom I truly am," said Michieru. Ryo held Michieru with his arms. "I guess all will be revealed eventually. You shouldn't be scared. I want to help you, ya know? I'm sure there's an explanation to all this. But in the mean time, would you mind washing my back," Ryo smiled weirdly. Michieru took Ryo by his head and dunk him in headfirst. "I guess I'll take that as a no," Ryo said shocked as Michieru laughed. "Now we're even from you dunking me into the pond. Let's keep it that way," Michieru laughed.
Michieru took a sponge and applied some lavender. He then rubbed Ryo's back with the sponge. "Mmmm, feels good. I haven't had this much pleasure since Seigi first made love to me," said Ryo.
Suddenly, Ryo felt a tiny hit on his cheek. "Ow! Michieru, why did you slap me," yelled Ryo. "Ryo, my dear compadre, that wasn't me. You know I don't resort to violence," Michieru whispered into Ryo's ear. A small ball of light appeared in front of Ryo. It took a small human form and it was revealed to be a female sprite. "You should be ashamed of yourself! Dogs like you don't deserve to know the true presence of real love," shouted the sprite in a high pitched voice. Michieru frowned. "Look, I don't know who ever you are, but that doesn't give you the right to interfere in other people's businesses! You're the one who should be ashamed of going right out at other people," said Michieru.
The sprite took a look at Michieru. "My lord, I didn't recognize you there for a min, please forgive me," said the sprite. Michieru widened by shock as the sprite spoke to him. "What the hell is it with everyone calling me young master and now lord. All these titles are starting to make me sick. Look, I don't really know who I truly am, but I just wish everyone would stop with the master, lord, and all that formal status crap. It's just Michieru," said Michieru. "But, that would be rude of me. Heaven would forbid if anyone else should just call you by name," said the sprite.
Michieru thought for a while, then came up with an idea. "You got a name, right," asked Michieru. "Yes, it's Mina," said the sprite. "Well, Mina, does everyone call you by your title," asked Michieru. "No…" "Well, I'm sure you like that just like how I like to be called by my name. So, let's just skip the intro and just be known without any title. Besides, if I truly was the prince here, I'd would have done something long ago to make everyone equal, so we're even," said Michieru. Mina blushed. "I'm sorry, Michieru. I won't let it happen again," said Mina. "Don’t worry, no harm taken. I'll give you a call when I'm ready. I'll see you later, bye," said Michieru.
Mina disappeared. "I guess we should be careful on whatever we say around here. Who knows what else could happen," said Michieru. Ryo leaned back on Michieru. Michieru placed his arms around Ryo. "Ryo, do you think we'll ever come back alive from this strange quest," Michieru asked. "I really can't say. Never in my life had I ever had to go up against a great evil like this before. To tell you the truth, I'm kinda scared Michieru," said Ryo. "I'm also scared too, Ryo, but as long as we don't give up, we'll hopefully be able to restore peace once and for all. I know we can do this. Just don't give up," said Michieru. Michieru began to sing. "Through the mists of my pasts and the winds of time, what should I do? Even though I'm young, I have all the time. But could my soul take the truth? We have to go someday. But if I die, all humanity and the hope will say goodbye. I got to be strong, never will cry, there are those I care about I can't let down. Speak to me, you shall know. Deep down inside I sense your fear as well. I hear your pain, just open up to me. We can do anything as long as we're together and combine our minds." Michieru shed a tear. "Michieru, I didn't know you're kinda like a musician," said Ryo. "To be honest, I'm not much of a lyricist, but I usually like to express my feelings whenever I sing. It usually makes me feel better whenever I sing sad songs with all my heart to help push aside my feelings," said Michieru. "Michieru, you are the most weirdest person with a strange taste I've ever met," said Ryo. "Thank you," said Michieru.
A ball of light appeared before Michieru. It was Beatrice. "Judging from the excitement in here, I guess that the both of you are ready. Let's get out of the tub before you two shrivel up into raisons," she said. Michieru got up and helped Ryo onto his feet. "I'll inform the other servants to get you both ready. In the mean time, I'll summon your friends here and make sure that their rooms are prepared as well," said Beatrice. She clapped her hands. A ball of light appeared and took form. It transformed into a small gargoyle that must have been about 4'4. "Michieru, this is Dusty. He'll take you to your room and get you setup. I'll escort you Ryo to your room before I start my errands," said Beatrice. Michieru held onto Dusty's hand and was instantly teleported. "Well, let's be off. Just hold onto me," said Beatrice. Ryo gently held onto Beatrice's waist. She immediately teleported.
Ryo looked in astonishment as he looked around to see the incredible surroundings of the room. To the left of him was a big renaissance bed. There were wooden sculptures of angels that were poles for the bed that held the top covering. To the right was a beautiful wardrobe that contained ancient cloths. In front of the bed was a big mirror. There was a window right next to the bed that peers into the courtyard.
"If you need anything else, just call out my name and I shall appear," said Beatrice. Beatrice teleported out of the room. Ryo went to open the wardrobe. "Hmm, decisions, decisions, decisions. What should I wear?" he thought. He felt a cold chill run up his spine. The sound of a harp started playing mysteriously. The room was suddenly filled with the scent of gardenia. When Ryo went to turn around, an old woman was standing by the window. She was wearing a green dress and a white tunic. She had long white hair that was braided into a ponytail that hung over her shoulder. She also had beautiful blue grayish eyes and a smile that made him feel relaxed.
"Don't be afraid child, I was sent by Beatrice. I am Sarah, the old nursemaid. I looked after Michieru from time to time before he disappeared," she said. Ryo went over to Sarah. He touched her hand. His hand went through her. He stepped back. "I'm also a ghost. As long as my physical body is not disturbed, I can protect the young and old. However, I'm not dead because my mistress placed a spell of protection from evil and a spell of eternal rest. My body cannot age. Oh! I almost forgot about something. Beatrice sent me to select an outfit for you," she said. Sarah floated towards the wardrobe. She took a white cloak. "Here, put this on," she said. Ryo took the cloak and drapes it over his shoulders. A strange glow began to emanate from the cloak. It immediately transformed into an ancient Japanese kimono. Ryo was now wearing a red kimono with padded armor. The kanji sign of his armor was on the back. "This cloak has the power to tap into spiritual power and also modifies the element of the warrior's fighting power. Even though the armor looks ancient, it is very powerful," said Sarah.
"Well, I see that the people of this kingdom know their craft very well, but there's one thing that still puzzles me. How can it be that there are other warriors just like us that also battle the other evil plots and have the same spiritual powers, but are a bit more powerful?" Ryo asked. Sarah laughed heartily. "Do you recall about the tale of Pandora and the mysterious box? It was believed that when the young maiden opened the box and unleashed all the chaos and negativities into the world, the last gift inside were hope. That hope was destined for future warriors from the past centuries to fight the powers of darkness and to protect the innocent. I don't know of how you and your friends acquired those armors you possess, but I can tell you that the ancient one selected the finest warriors from your home in Japan. Michieru, for example, was destined to fight for peace because of his heart. I'd never thought to see the day when these events would come. I've been praying for such a long time that he'd be safe ever since the day he was brought over into your world and…"
Just then, Beatrice appears. "Ryo, your friends have just arrived and are about to start a meeting in the crystal chambers. Let's be off before they start," said Beatrice. Ryo is instantly brought to the meeting. He saw his friends and Michieru's clan. He also saw the outer clan that Michieru restored after the battle with Dark Feather. Ryo sat down at the big table. "Now that we're all here, I guess we can proceed with this emergency meeting. I know this is all very sudden and yet I'm still trying to put two and two together, but I guess destiny summons us once more," said Michieru. A tall middle-aged man came forward with a book in his hands. "I am Marcus, the chancellor of this kingdom. The reason you all were summoned here focuses on the topic of both our realms. Glasya, daughter of Dark Feather, plans to enslave all mankind and wipe out the powers of the light. As destined warriors, its up to you all to stop her at all costs. If you all were to battle her now, you all could easily be diminished just by a simple word. You must embark on a journey towards the town of Spring. The elder of the town might tell you more on what you all could do. The only problem there is that none of you can be teleported there because there's a magical barrier protecting the town. But I have a feeling you all will find allies like yourselves with the same motives that can help out. But in the mean time, you'll all will spend the night here and start your journey early tomorrow morning. Since no one has any questions, you all should go to your rooms and get a good night's sleep. You all will meet me at the front of the temple at 4:00 am…." Everyone groaned in unison. "But how will we know the time since there aren't any alarm clocks to wake us up?" asked Kento. "Believe me, you'll all know and if none of you wakes up exactly on the dot, you'll get a surprised awakening," snickered Marcus. Everyone teleported to their rooms.
5 minutes passed and Seigi got bored. "I think I'll explore the temple before I go to bed," he thought. Seigi opened the door and started walking down the hall. He continued until he found a flight of stairs. As he walked up the stairs, he could hear some beautiful music being played. The music got louder as he continued down the hall. He saw moon light shining from the balcony and noticed three beautiful elven maids performing some music. There was an elven maid with a crescent moon on her forehead. She had brown eyes and long blond hair. She was also wearing a green dress and was playing a sort of gypsy violin. The second elven maid had long blue hair and hazel eyes. She was wearing a white dress and a cape. She was playing the harp. The third elven maid had blue eyes and long green hair. She wore a red gown. There was a mysterious look in her eyes that made Seigi feel joyful. She was playing the flute.
Seigi turned to see Michieru leaning at the balcony in front of him. He was dressed in an aquamarine tunic and green tights. He was standing near the balcony watching the star filled sky. Below him on the treetops were small woodland creatures with various other instruments scattered almost professionally in an orchestra. Seigi was extremely puzzled by this. "This is so moving. But why is he out there with them instead of the rest of us. I wonder if he's alright?" Seigi wondered.
Seigi got closer to the doorway, but not enough for Michieru or the maids to notice. The inhabitants started performing a song that sounded like it came from that movie "The Secret Garden" entitled "Song from a Secret Garden". As Seigi watched the performance, he noticed that the stars in the sky instantly moved as the song progressed in a sad manner. An illusion was created of a little boy crying like there was no tomorrow while sitting near a cliff near the ocean. Tears ran down his face as the sun was setting. The only comfort around was a Grey Wolf that came by to lick his face for comfort while the Orca whale sang its song to make him happy. Seigi then realized that this illusion was the day Michieru found out his village was wiped out by Dark Feather when he was little. This was the day he fled tearfully towards the ocean. He wanted to so badly flow away where the ocean could take him far away from his sorrows. At that instant, an old medicine man with long white hair came by the cliff. The animals stood by in silence and bowed as the old man walked up towards Michieru. With his reddened eyes, Michieru ran towards the old man and sobbed into his legs. The old man kneeled before Michieru and hugged him for comfort. As the music slowly ended, the illusion began to fade away. A tear ran down Seigi's face. "Poor Michieru, just listening to his song makes me wonder if deep down inside he's really lonely," he thought.
Seigi just then notices in amazement that the elven maidens disappeared. Michieru went towards the stone railing and gazed into the sky. He took off his tunic and laid it on the concrete ground. He then climbs on top of the railing. Seigi's eyes were in shock. "He's got to be crazy! He's going to fall!" Seigi thought to himself. Seigi ran towards Michieru to stop him. "Michieru stop! You're going to get yourself killed that way," Seigi yelled.
He managed to grab Michieru by the hand in time. Seigi noticed that Michieru was crying. "Why couldn't you let me die? Nobody cares whether I live or die no matter where I go. I'm suddenly brought to a world I've never knew existed but to be told I was truly born here in a kingdom where now this realm depends upon my fate and…" Seigi kisses Michieru as he slowly brings him in closer to his chest for comfort. "Michieru, no matter what the fate, we'll always be there for you. You're never alone. I'm just as confused as you are. In fact, we all are ever since we were all brought here by these strange creatures. If anything was to ever happen to you, none of us would be able to forgive each other, not even Shin…"
Michieru looked up into Seigi's soft grayish eyes with a puzzled look. "You mean Shin really cares about me so much like that? I never knew that. Oh Seigi, just to actually know right now to the fact I'm actually loved by someone really makes me so happy. I wish I…" Seigi placed a fingertip to Michieru's lips. "Hush delicate snowfalcon, you needn't say more." Michieru virtually melted into Seigi's arms as he was slowly kissed by Halo's sweet holy lips and closed his eyes.
The stars that night were ever bright and clear as the two friends each exchanged loving sighs from each other's soft embraces of purity. Seigi slowly guided Michieru down to the stone floor of the pavilion. Michieru placed his arms around Seigi as his mouth greeted him once more. The passion of both friends were ablaze as the romance flourished and heightened by each and passing minute of the night. While Seigi would nuzzle gently against Michieru, Michieru would slowly unbutton Seigi's shirt until it was off. Michieru's heart was fully ablaze as the passion between him and Halo ever grew. Seigi gently brought Michieru closer to his broad chest and gently kissed him on his forehead as the both of them watched the beautiful stars that night. Michieru gently closed his eyes as he laid his head down on Seigi's chest. To Seigi, he felt that Michieru was like a little lost kitten all curled up onto his lap and sleeping so pure and innocently. Seigi was laying against the wall while Michieru was sleeping silently on him. He gently kissed him as he placed his strong arms around him for comfort and continued to gaze into the beautiful sky.
