Ok, I'm not going to be doing a "diary" here every day, but I did want to say that I've been doing quite a bit of reading, here and elsewhere, and in the last 24 hrs I've really learned quite a bit.
I'm one of those people that has to read materials and then place them in outline form ("A,B,C,1,2,3") so I know how to progress without ending up running around jumping from one thing to another. Books are awesome, but without a step-by-step outline of the progression of things I feel disoriented and may get discouraged. VR is so perfectly set up for my type of progression of study & learning, I can only thank the Gods for sending me here.
When I first formally started on my Path as a Witch (rootworker/Granny Witch, coming from an Irish/Celtic & Ukrainian ancestry, specifically) there was no internet, bookstores & libraries were "scary" places to be looking for and reading about (oooo, aaaaahhh, dare I say it!) witchcraft! So learning as a Solitary really sucked and I floundered for ages. I am now a teacher and have many students who have literally gone back to "Witchcraft 101" to get a better foundation. They've all expressed how much more they've learned as a result of my teachings.
Once I'm MUCH further (yrs) along on this Path, I would very much like to Mentor new Vampyres as well. Teaching is a great honor to me and I hope to work with Lady Darc for a long time, and eventually become a Mentor equal to her.
Here at VR I hope to find many friends & a Mentor also. Learning from many gives a broader perspective from which to learn. Varying viewpoints provide one with the ability to see how others practice, think, and apply their knowledge (book or practical).
I feel in the (very!) short time on this site that I will learn alot and am very excited to continue my education!
Thank you for permitting me to join!
Blessings!
Hubby's time for the computer - his crashed so we're sharing. I will try to get back to visit sometime tonight, if not then tomorrow morning.
Thank you to those who bit me!
Good evening & Blessings!
Ok, found VR while on a search for Vampire sites. I'm new to this Path and looking forward to learning more. Being one who hates being a 'newbie', this is very disconcerting for me!
As a perpetual student, this new subject is one that I've wanted to pursue for some time but, being a Witch for the last 2+ decades is odd enough, but a Vampyre as well?! That just seemed a bit too off-the-wall. But as the saying goes "when the student is ready the teacher will arrive".
I was introduced to this by Lady Darc from another (Witch) group. She gave a list of books to begin with, so I've read Akhkharu and am about 1/2 way through Sanguinarium. The former holds little interest, but the latter is definitely a "fit" (psi or empath forms). I've had several of Konstantinos' books for years that was actually my first indepth introduction to Night Magic.
So, I'm on a new adventure and I'm looking forward to learning all I can!
