Hmmm. Debating if I should get another camera... It's turning into a sickness LOL. The one I have my eye on was recommended by a friend who takes amazing pictures. It is a DSLR. I wanted to get an SLR but those are so costly. Personally I miss the 35mm because what you saw in the viewfinder is what was in the picture. Now with these crappy digitals, the picture might look great on the screen, but when you blow it up on the computer a lot of the time it turns out a bit blurry and grainy... It seems though with the Canon PowerShot SX30 1S the image stabilization is really good... Other cameras have higher ISOs, but 1600 should be good enough when people move... My camera is a NIKON 18x zoom which I thought was amazing but when I put it passed 9x the image looks grainy... The woodpecker in my next door neighbors tree looks horrible in the pictures I have taken of it... The Canon is 35x zoom! I am hoping even if half of it is clear, like on my Nikon, that is still 17.5x zoom... What I like about SLR's is the instantaneous shutter speed... Not like with digitals, again, it takes a bit to focus and by that time the animal or whatever is gone or I missed the shot due to focusing... I usually end up keeping the settings on sport settings so it takes numerous shots per second... If anyone has any suggestions please leave a message...
Ok, so I leave my house around the same time I would for work. Luckily traffic was not bad. Get there around 9ish. Look for parking. Wasn't sure where to pay, so I went inside got a parking pass. Found out we could take camera's. Took my small one because they said the Nikon looked a bit too professional.. So I couldn't take that with the 18X zoom... Better than nothing, not really complaining. Get in line. The main group in front of me was about 8-10 long and were there since 3:30 in the morning... (and the people I know said I was nuts for getting there when I did) They are pretty awesome people.. Then 2 girls are behind them but one has a GT so that was fine... If I wasn't circling around looking for parking I would have been the second one in line. So it's freezing and windy... I was wondering why my face was red today, it was wind burn... And after talking to the people in line (you can see them in my photo album), I decided I am a really poor fan... Really, my friends think I am obsessive. People drove from Ohio, Missouri, flew in from New York, this one lady Elise has seen them 38 times!!!! Seen them in Germany, Prague, you name it! So yeah, when I stay in my my own state and don't make things like Chainemaille banners and clothing or anything, I feel like a poor fan... (will be prepared for the next time though!). Really though, that group of people were true Echelon and they really were cool. I thought they all grew up around each other... Found out, they just knew each other from all the concerts!
Doors finally open... a few minutes after 530, the way security checks stuff, I ended up losing my postential front row spot... Was really peeved... So we run up the stairs, they threaten people by saying if you run you go back to the entrance... BS, tons of people were running and they did NOT get thrown back.. I get a barricade spot, a little further back than I wanted, but it ended up being perfect... Well CB7 goes on... Rather impressive so I will have to DL some of their music... They didn't have a banner but the singer was in white, so it was easy to know that was CB7. Then Anberlin came on, and I liked their stuff, so it was nice to know I actually knew of them before... So then finally 30STM comes out... The Surge happens and I get lifted and we are all kinda bouncing up and down, really crappy for taking pictures.. thats why so many of my pictures are crappy... Ok, now you all know I don't really swear or get too violent on here, but there was this big dumb ass oaf who I swear was a troll in his past life... He's like over 6 feet tall and about as wide as tall.. Well I think the girl's name was Danielle was behind him... shes like under 5 feet tall... so we are super pissed off and yelling at the jack ass and security there was a joke... the oaf kept pushing us back, poor danielle is in tears cause of the pain, but I would not budge, I held my ground for dear life, thats why muscles i didn't know i had are hurting... the other girl, Katie got pushed out too.. Securty would not take the guy out.. cause face it... The security guards were half the guys size... He was such a complete dick.. I really wish I knew where the weak spots are of the spine, cause if it's possible I would have elbowed him in the spine and snapped it... That really is how mad he made me... I am not kidding either.. He was such a rude dumb fuck... plain and simple... He kept pushing but i held on.. so he made my experience not so good.. Next time I go I am getting a GT and the hell with people like him... Well they played The Kill and From Yesterday and Attack and Hurricane which are my favorites, so all was right in the world there... Well then I forgot which song it was and Jared gets off stage and walks down the barricaded section... I got to touch his shoulder!!! He isn't really all that tall... I think 5'9 is really pushing it.. I would say maybe 5'6ish??? Anyway, so then he stands on the barricade and stops right over me... His legs are spread for balance so I am literally like 3 inches from his crotch... I look up and thats all I saw... haha... He is daring by walking on the barricade... No other band I saw there ever did that! Well I am happy, I got to touch him, totally geeked out, but I just wanted to get it out of my system haha.. So they finish their set... Then they do an encore of Kings & Queens... Jared yells out that if anyone wants to get up stage to body surf to the front... I was figureatively fucked... Wave after wave of surfers over my head... There was this fat chick so I swear, if I wasn't on a diet already after seeing what I did I would have started... She was a ho bag slut... nasty as all get out... She probably at this point weighed more than me and she was wearing a skirt.... ho wasn't wearing anything underneath and she was trying to body surf her way over the barricade... she ended up being upside down and all her shit was hanging out... it was so nasty.. really she traumatized me for life.... No fucking shame at all... Bitch u did NOT look good even before that incident.. I don't know y people think they are all that when they aint... ugh.... *shudders* anyway, there were a whole bunch of people on stage apparently but that dumb fuck oaf was in the way so i couldn't see anything... it was the last song so it wasn't that big of a deal... It took forever to get out of the place and I needed air in the worst way.. I was sweating like a pig... I thought I was going to pass out in the parking lot... Luckily I brought one of those electrlyte drinks which apparently i needed cause i drank all 32 ounces in less than 7 minutes... I came home and took a shower and passed out around 1ish... Then all hell broke out at work...
I will add more to this as memories come to the surface haha :)
Oh yeah, I was so tired, ready to pass out and I tried putting my stereo faceplate back in and about 1/4 of the drive home it popped out and I couldn't get it back in... soooo I am about ready to fall asleep and no loud music to keep me awake.. really, I didn't know how I made it home... I remember bits of the drive and what I remember was that it was way too windy!...
I have to say, since i was on the barricade minute 6:53 was the best time of my life, cause Jared was standing on the barricade RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!!! No Lie... If I was in so much pain from getting squooshed to death I probably would have been jumping up and down like mad crazy.. Needless to say, I am getting a freaking GT next time, cause I am still hurting and it was 2 days ago..... Getting too old for that crap... Some of the people were so rude, but the Echelon were awesome!
