They're trying to console me I think. Co workers keep dropping by my desk armed with nervous shuffles and break room doughnuts. The script never changes and they don't flock long.
"Hey... There are doughnuts in the break', how are you today?"
Did you hear about the honeymoon?
"I'm fine."
"... That's good. You seem distant lately, what's new?"
Juxtaposed with new events your reclusive behavior seems odd and scary to me, what are the chances of you bringing a handgun to work anytime soon?

It's been easier to unthink these days. There's a lacking in the atmosphere around me that makes it easier to sink below the surface. The noisy man was taken away somewhere by the woman, shrouded in an old sheet covered in tiny florets and drool stains, perpetually hunched over in an involuntary, hacking heave. With things settling back into their natural pace I can feel this uncanny pull to purge these left over thoughts subside, slowly ebbing away into the quiet I hope soon to follow.
