Beat Armored Core 3 and am playing it again. Kinda not fun anymore once all the dead ACs come back into the arena and you get the bonus part.

One thing I love about the AC3 series is the missions get harder depending on how well you do.

Like in the 1st mission, where you're going through your AC exam. If you take a good bit of damage and take a while to complete the mission, it proceeds as normal. But if you plow through the enemies then the drop off reinforcements that are a little harder. That happened in both runs and it made the mission a hell of a lot more fun.

Just found another as well on another mission, if you kill half the enemies quickly enough then they will deploy an AC to fight you.

Kind of a reward and punishment at the same time. The boss fights are awesome!!!

Been playing Armored Core 3 all day today, damn it's fun! Even more fun that I remember it too.

My AC design is my new standard. Reverse joint leg model armed with a high impact rifle, beam sword and manual aim rockets! And a radar too.

Managed to get to the top of the arena with this design and the only AC to really give me trouble was the rank A-3. Royal Myst or something like that. Must have spent an hour and a half fighting that one AC.

What kept getting me was his shotgun more than anything else. I'm actually really good at dodging missiles in this game, so his missiles didn't do much at all, neither did his howitzer. But he kept getting me into this position where he was just outside of my attack radios and was pummeling me with his shotgun. He basically took advantage of my crafts one flaw - slow turning speed.

Then I felt like an idiot because all I had to do was equip my AC with the special part to increase turning speed and then I finally beat him 3 matches later. Still a really hard fight but it was manageable after that. What got me the extra 2 times was his entire combat style shifts once he is at 10% life and that threw me way off balance. All of a sudden it goes from a ground-to-ground battle to a ground-to-air battle and howitzer rounds started raining from the freakin sky.

Storyline wise I'm close to the end of the game, might even be the second to last mission but I'm not sure. Can't beat the mission because of yet another shotgun AC in an enclosed area keeps killing me. B rank AC named Nocturne or something like that. I breezed past him in the arena but he is a lot more aggressive on that mission. Payback for the arena maybe?

Thankfully I only failed 2 missions in the storyline.

The first was because I was way out of my element. Had to defend these turbines from enemy MTs, but the catch was it was over the ocean and I'm not using a hover-type AC, and there's not even a warning period with the water. As soon as you get your feet wet the mission ends because you "exited the combat area" aka sank like a 20 ton rock. Mission lasted all of 30 seconds.

Second one was near the end of the game, had to defend Crests air ducts from AI robots. I just got overwhelmed on that one. Nothing special there, just too many targets and only 1 of me.

I feel really bad for 2 pilots in the storyline. They're a brother/sister duo. The brother got killed in a large scale assault mission and then the sister and I were on opposite sides on another mission a little later so I ended up having to gun her down. What makes it worse is that they were so low rank that both assignments were suicide missions. You don't hire an E rank pilot to kill an A rank pilot, it just won't work.

I wonder why you never see the A rank pilots in story missions? Especially on the crucial missions near the end game. Then again, I am very happy I haven't run into Royal Mist in the storyline.

Another AC I feel bad for is Huntress. I worked with her on an early on mission, then on the one prior to the one I'm currently stuck on, she's hired to kill me, along with Fanfare, who's also a B rank. So, while a 2 on 1 battle is always fun, I felt bad killing her.

That kinda stuff does great for the "mercenary" feel though.

And on a final note - Hell hath no furry like napalm rockets!

A few funny moments from Armored Core Master of Arena

1. My AC is so light weight that if it gets hit by an explosive it flies backward/into the air. I literally got shot into the out of bounds by an enemy's cannon shot. Must have been sent up like 30-40 feet.

2. During a fight against a quad AC my energy ran out, so i decided to circle the enemy until it recharged. We were just going around and around and around each other for a solid 2 minuets, then we both dashed away at the same time. Yay coordination.

Also, whenever someone shoots a cannon shot it looks like they're throwing a fuckin star at you. You're just flying along and then this giant ball of fire that's actually twice your size comes flying at you from out of nowhere. It's awesome!

I found my old, old game Armored Core Master of Arena today! And it actually works!

It's just as fun, short and difficult as I remember it. And as with all ps1 games, I remember the graphics being a lot better back when i was 6.

I'm hoping that the tactics I learned from playing that again will help me in the online part of 4 Answer, since the older games focused on maneuverability rather than mobility.

From a tech standpoints, the ACs from the older games sucked!

-They could only use 1 main weapon and the older arm was reserved for a blade.

-Unless you're using a 4-leg craft or a tank craft, you have to stop and crouch to use most back mounted weapons, except for missiles and manual aim rockets.

-ACs can't fight on water - at all! Funny story about that actually

-Boosting overheats, making an energy weapon build a lot harder to handle.

That being said, I still was able to make a mobile craft. Had a reverse joint build to help with jumping, and I learned to only use the boosting when absolutely necessary.

The water thing was hilarious though. It was on a mission to save this ocean research facility. It was so dark that i couldn't tell where the water line was and where the base's ground started. The ship that transported me was a few feet from the base's ground. So I waled right off the ship and into the water. Mission lasted all of 5 seconds.

Only thing that annoys me - and this is definitely because of the craft i use - everything stuns me! I'm hard as hell to hit but once i get hit once but stuck and they can just hammer me with whatever is close at hand. I thankfully haven't died much but i've had a hell of a lot of close calls!

Still a fun game though!

I miss regulation 1.20...

yes this is video game related, specifically armored core 4 answer related.

There is not a word to describe just how badly I got my ass kicked online today. Went through all 8 of my good crafts, must have played 30 rounds against his guy and only won 1.

He played the game fair, so I don't mind losing at all, but it still kinda hurts the pride a lot. If the developers stuck to the old regulations my crafts wouldn't be so helpless though.

See, regulation 1.20 fixed a lot of the weapon issues in the game. Balanced it out a lot so that people couldn't abuse certain unbeatable tactics, which was great!

Then however, when it was evident that more balancing was necessary, instead of working on it more, they just cut the speed in half and made everything weight twice as much. That was regulation 1.30.

That's where all of the "missile whores" came into play. The people who loaded their crafts down with fire and forget missiles because the reduction is speed made them damn near impossible to dodge with heavy/mid weight crafts and even some lightweight.

Then for some odd reason they decided to cut the speed in half again for no apparent reason, one of those "just because" things.

I probably would do better online if i abandoned the high speed, fancy aerial maneuvering crafts and went with something more high powered, but that's just not my style.

I did amazingly well in 1.20. Everyone had a different and original craft and every fight had a new surprise. Then i did ok in 1.30. Had a lot of trouble adapting to the new weight but was still able to hold my own.

I can't do shit in 1.40 as far as maneuverability is concerned. They better fix this shit in armored core 5 or i WILL sue!

More religious crap! Must be one of those days.

My family's all mad at me now becuase of my topic for my final speech in speech: why creationism should not be taught in science.

It was either that or why global warming is fake, I hate to decide which I hated more, and creationism won by a hair.

I never took them for religious people. The only one who goes to church is my grandpa, and he's the only one who's not worked up about my topic, at least visibly so.

Honestly, even if i was religious, I still wouldn't want creationism taught in science. Just like the separation of church and state, science and religion should be kept far, far apart. The last time those two were mixed together, we thought the world was flat and the Earth was in the center of the solar system. I'd rather not return to the dark ages again, thank you.

And I can compare this to food!

A lot of people like steak.

A lot of people like chocolate ice cream.

But I doubt any of them would like the idea of mixing them together. It's the same concept.

I should use that in my speech!!! Might have to work on the wording a tad bit though.

Getting back into Armored Core 4 Answer again. Not used to the speed any more though, at least not my level of speed. Gravity is pretty much non-existent when I'm moving. One tap of the thruster and I'm going 500km. Was bumping into walls left and right for the first 10 minuets or so.

I like the name of my new design too: Paladin. And I'm using the Knight emblem for my emblem, which obviously fits. I attempted to draw my own emblem with a knight carrying a shield and a sword but I can't draw worth a damn, so that got scrapped in the first 5 minuets.

As far as the build goes it's a hybrid.

Head is from Algebra - my favorite company by far.

Core and legs are from Line Ark.

Arms are from Rosenthal as well as the back thruster.

My main generator is from GA, it's a freakin heavy ass generator but damn is it efficient. Probably the only efficient part GA makes.

I'm also using the rifle that looks like an M16, which is also from Rosenthal.

And am using the best machine gun from Rayleonard, as well as the side boosters from that company.

And a radar from BFF and an energy cannon from Interior Union.

And for the people who have no idea what i'm talking about.

Rosenthal makes the "all purpose" equipment. The stuff that's equally balanced in as many areas as possible.

Algebra makes the lightest parts out there. Really light, really fragile but really mobile. They also have a good assortment of shot guns.

GA (Global Armaments) makes all the heavy shit. If if weights a ton and goes BOOM, GA made it.

BFF which is NOT Best Friends Forever, makes all the sniper oriented stuff. Long range rifles/cannons and light but durable core parts.

Rayleonard makes all the really fast, really sleek stuff. They kinda got killed off in the earlier game though so their parts are a bit outdated.

Interior union makes energy weapons! And energy efficient core parts.

There is another energy weapon company but it's a sub division of Interior Union and I forget what the name is.

Anyway, playing through the storyline again and damn is it fun!

I'm going to "free play" and setting most of the missions on hard becuase i love the storyline more than the "normal" version.

Reinforcements don't arrive and your operator starts yelling at the client company, enemy AC ambushes and comments or how bad ass you are when you do all of this shit on your own. Stuff like that.

I like the whole "operator" thing the series does. Makes it feel like someone's got your back. Even though

A - they don't really exist.

and

B - even if they did, they're just some person sitting behind a computer far, far away from any actual explosions.

But still, they're like your own personal secretary. Get missions for you, manage messages, stuff like that. The older games put more detail into that section than these do, but the feel of it is still there which is kinda cool.

Can't wait for 5!!! Whenever the hell that's coming out.

With my luck it's already out but I won't find out about it for another 2 years. That's what happened to me with Nexus.

yay glitches!!!

I'm officially not touching Fallout New Vegas until the next patch comes out. Too many game crashing/save corrupting glitches and I'm not gonna start over a 6th+ time just to restart again because of another glitch. As much as I love the game I'm debating on just selling it, so many fucking things are going wrong it's not much fun anymore.

That being said, any buyers? ha!

Ordering the entire Armored Core 3 storyline for my birthday. Gonna be so much freakin fun!!!

Armored Core 3

Armored Core Silent Line

Armored Core Nexus

Armored Core Last Raven

I think that's all in the 3's storyline anyway, might be missing 1 though, can't remember.

That group of games are the best in the series, even better than the new stuff, so it'll be nice to replay all of my old favorites again. And I never got to play Nexus so I'll get to see something new!

I did beat Last /Raven though so i kinda know how the whole series ends, but still, gonna be fun!

Plus that means I get to work for Mirage again! They were my favorite company in 3 and silent line. I built nearly all of my craft with Mirage parts, it was awesome looking. I did kinda like the one with the red logo, but I forget their name and they tried to assassinate me in 3 so that kinda put a damper on the relationship. Fucking 2 on one battle with the top ranked ACs and these invisible MT drones all over the damn place. It was a great assassination attempt though, the designers have my respect for that one.

Looking forward to having another go at Last Raven too. The game's short so the difficulty curve starts really low and peaks really fucking quick. So it'll be an awesome challenge. I think I can import an AC from Nexus if i remember right, so that will probably make it easier.

Damn I'm looking forward to this!!!

I got tired of my athlete's foot bothering me so i took matters into my own hands and literally cut the visible portion of the fungus out of my foot.

See, ever since i started using the spray and cream, this white film started to form on the foot and then the stuff stopped working altogether. So I figured that the film was an adaption of the fungus preventing the chemicals from killing it.

So, I heated up a knife and went to work. Cut off the film and 2 layers of skin, then put the cream into the open wound along with that antibiotic Neosporin or what ever its called. It bled a lot and hurt like a bitch, but after a week, it feels a million times better. The skin is still tender but any signs of athlete's foot is gone now.

My parents were angry at me for doing it, with good reason, but they refused to take me to the doctor to get it looked at.

Gotta say, the process was kinda fun!

Interesting development today.

I was helping my dad clear out the garage, we got a lot of shit in there we didn't even know we had. One particular piece of equipment was a video converter. Conncets "any pc to any tv". I've been looking over the components and I think I can record my video game footage with it. There might not be sound though but its better than nothing. Going to test it out when I get home. Price tag is $399.99 which is about $250.99 more expensive than the one i was looking for in stores, so I'm hopeful.

Time for my slightly delayed Fallout New Vegas review!

First, the things I don't like.

-So many glitches!!! There's actually too many glitches to mention, that's how many there are! Only a few of them directly effect game play though, the rest are just annoying and kill the mood. The major glitches are

*If you play the game for around 2 hours in one sitting the load times between cells go from 10 seconds or less to 60-120 seconds. This is really bad when there are loading doors one after the other.

*If you reload the game too often the game becomes a little unstable. By unstable I mean, dialogue cuts out, guns refuse to shoot, frame rate goes to all hell. It's really, really frustrating.

But thankfully Bethesda is working on patches to fix these, and have already set out one for a bunch of the minor stuff. Just waiting on the rest.

-The storyline doesn't have enough dull points. This would usually be a good thing but since this is a game that is made for exploration, it would be nice to have some time to do more of the exploring.

There's nothing mechanically stopping you from dropping everything you're doing on the main quest and go exploring, but in terms of continuity, it's really unrealistic.

It's like "I'm in possession of the one object that will determine the fate of the world. But instead of making use of it, i'm gonna go wonder for a few years. Good luck everybody!"

It wouldn't matter all that much if you got to continue playing after you beat the main quest, but since the game ends once you beat the main quest, you're forced to balance the two, which sucks.

Thankfully What I do like about the game makes all of the above not matter!

-To start off, I love hardcore mode!!! That's the mode that requires you to eat, drink and sleep, as well as making ammunition have weight.

The nutrition part of the mode is really simple. There's food and drink all over, the only way this would hamper your game play is if you either

A - sell all of the good/drink.

B - sit there for hours on end doing nothing but eating.

The need to constantly eat/drink actually makes a lot of other wise useless items very valuable. Like meat from animals which you can cook and use other things to make better. Like if you combine Pork n' beans, instamash, cram, radaway and a lunchbox, you make a Caravan lunch which heals a lot of food, drink, health and radiation.

And as far as bullets having weight goes, the weight from nearly all ammunition is so minor it doesn't effect looting at all. Most ammo weighs anywhere from 0.01lbs to 1.1lbs per shell. The heavier shells being very high caliber bullets. Energy cells, missiles and flamer tanks weigh more but not by too much.

And if the weight bothers you, find a companion, and have him/her/it store your excess equipment!

-The weapon mods are awesome!

You can combine up to 3 mods to any one gun, and they can either be found in the wasteland or bought. These are things like silencers, lighter frames, extended barrels, scopes. All sorts of stuff to customize your gear.

As for me, I'm using a .357 magnum revolver with an extended barrel for extra damage and an HD cylinder that increases its durability by 50% and it is awesome!

-Gambling! What would Vegas be without gambling right? You have your pick of blackjack, roulette or the slots. There's also a game called Caravan but its not played in any of the casinos.

You can earn a lot of money in the casinos but there's a limit to how much you can win before you're forcibly removed from the premises.

Atomic Wrangler - $5,000

Gamora - $7,000

Tops - $9,000

Ultra Lux - $15,000

As you can probably tell, I'm not allowed to gamble no more but damn was it worth it!

-And of course there is the amount of player control. The control varies on how well you build your character. Everyone is going to have their own strengths and weaknesses but literally all of the storyline can be effected by what the player is skilled and not skilled with, as well as how the player uses their own knowledge and opinions on things.
