Well, the last time... we spoke... I was leaving my job as a pharmacy technician for something else.
And that went through. I am officially no longer getting my soul sucked out of me by the public and coworkers alike by working retail. I am now an office manager for a home health care agency. It's a lot of photocopying, faxing, three hole punching, mailing, and phone answering, but it is also a lot of peace and quiet. There have been quite a few days where I am the only person in the office for positively hours, and it is heaven. In a pharmacy setting, almost all of your work was "ZOMG! I NEED NEED NEED THIS RIGHT NOW OR ELSE I WILL DIEE!!!111" So there was constant pressure and stress because everyone needed everything five minutes ago. In my new office, all my work gets done in its own due time, usually with no big rush. I get them done almost right away anyway, simply because I don't like to have work hanging over me, but the point is that no one is breathing down my neck for it asking "is it done yet???" And if something does need a rush, then it is actually for really reals important and not some idiot making a mountain out of a molehill.
I have been at this new job since June 1, and it is going pretty well. I suppose it helps that the girl I replaced was apparently a rude moron who couldn't file to save her life and liked to wear miniskirts without any underwear, so it was pretty easy for me to impress everyone. Just wearing pants to work and being NICE to people who called would have been all I needed to do, but I also took it upon myself to completely reorganize the patient records which were a horrible mess. They were also amazed that I vacuumed and took out the trash without anyone having to ask me to do it. I suppose to me it's second nature after working with some pharmacists who were "too good" to perform such duties, but it's common sense, really.
So, I just wanted to mention to anyone who give a care what I've been up to and that my general work situation has indeed improved. I just didn't want to say anything until it was a done deal.
