So, yeah visiting my brother and dancing at the Darq night was super fun! My bro and his beau go there often and they said this was one of the best turn outs they'd ever seen. And I'll tell you, the place was pretty FULL.

I was worried at first that I may have over dressed (black lace up corset top, velvet skirt, velvet fingerless elbow gloves, knee high platform boots.... awwwww yeah), as often the crowd is of the black t-shirt and black jean variety, but i was pleasantly surprised by some of the cool clothes people wore. There was a pirate, okay? Doesn't get much cooler than that. My husband looked quite dashing in an all black suit (he knots his necktie with a silver skull ring in it, which looks AWESOME), gangster style shoes, and a sweet top hot we had bought earlier that same day at a nice little Salem shop called... um... Fool's Mansion? I think? WE were one of the "best dressed" I thought, but then I'm pretty biased, I supposed. There was a girl there who had done her hair with those cool dread extensions, so she was high on the list, too.

Anyhoo, my brother got up to DJing pretty late because the guy who organizes it decided to spin for a while. He had some good tunes, so I went up and started dancing when it was clear he'd be at for a bit. After that, I did not stop dancing for a very, very, very long time. My bro played some GREAT songs, including "Time is the Reaper" by Red Flag just for me and my husband because we dig Red Flag ever since the Goth Cruise 2008. He did a good job on the beat matching even tho he's not used to doing it digitally like AT ALL. It was pretty smooth.

The other DJ did not get off on a good start, in my opinion. He played a bit of Eastern belly dance stuff, which I'm not into, so I took that time to hit the ladies room for a minute. I had almost resolved that he was playing nothing but crap when.... "I think We're Alone Now" by the Birthday Massacre came on and I hit the floor again. Then he played a 1980s block of songs, which kicked ass, of course, including "Personal Jesus," "Mad World," and "If You Leave." The rest of his set kept me going until the owners forced him to stop for the night.

I danced for almost 3 hours straight and I loved it!

A random lady came up to me afterwards and complimented me on dancing so much. She said too many seem to "come to watch" and never seem to dance. I told her thanks, but I only did what I came to do. Go to a dance club and sit around? Not for me thanks. If the music is good, I'll be out there. I'm not one of those who only dances to songs she knows, or songs she likes. If the beat is good, I'm good.

The next day, my brother cooked us breakfast and we all went to Harrisons to load up on geeky crap. All in all, a fabulous weekend.
