Heart of mine, hear my cry!

Here I am - oh, am I not...?!

Near, distant.

I live - and yet, not live;

a mere shadow of me,

time inexistent...



Why, if so born, must I flee

the crowds awaiting my disgrace?

Why with no reason am I despised,

on earth unwelcome and in need of solace?



Will my unworthy existence

ever see better days,

or will I be carried by enemy's hands

to my resting place?



I see no end to my ordeal;

yet, any sorrow I should conceal -

and let not the world see me falling,

as I fall and decline, as eternity's calling;

my tears are no one else's business,

my smile - only a mask behind which

I hide the true me that my poems should reveal.
