It comes back like a familiar ghost, the thoughts race as you ponder “our lives our short, why must I meet death alone” you wonder what to do when you’ll travel oceans for someone who will only watch you drown. These ghosts of what was, what could have been, and what if float around your crypt haunting you for what feels like eons. We yearn for a forever, but know it’s all numbered. The ghosts remind us “memento mori” remember love, lust, pain, happiness, sadness, yearning and satisfaction are all things uncertain.
Our tombs remind us death is all we truly know, death follows us all within our wake. Our tomb haunts us.
