I have never painted on acrylic paper. I always paint on stretched canvas, cotton, pre-primed with gesso. Is it similar to painting on canvas? I also have canvas boards I paint on too.

It is a bit different actually. I works in a pinch and you have to make sure you have it flat to dry. It absorbs the paint faster and it dries quicker. I am using acrylic paints instead of oils but apparently the paper I am using can handle oils too. I am getting some canvases soon as I like them better, but when the itch to paint comes I use the paper I have.
