Worth the effort

Some days it hardly seems worth the effort
Getting out of bed
Putting on make up
Fixing the hair
Making myself look "presentable"
""Presentable" to WHOM?
But, then the sun shines through the clouds
The wind blows gently against my face
The smell of the honeysuckle faint on the wind
Someone waves as they pass by
A neighbor says hello
Seeing children playing in the yard across the street
Hearing a dog bark
A deep breath
And somehow....
It seems worth it.
