Every time I tell someone about my journey, I get the same response; "Why?"
Well, there's a few reasons. I'll try to explain them all here.
- No booze. It's just not feasable to drink and do this. And I drink far too much. I can blame the Army and war if I want to, but it doesn't matter who's at fault, I just need a solution.
- No sex. Not that I get a ton of it as it is, but I feel that too much of life revolves around seeking and having coital relations. It's actually rather sickening.
- No guns. Another problem, I always feel the need to be armed. Can't be good.
- Learning. It's time to, in a sense, discover myself. Discover my country. You'll learn a lot about your self when you push your limits and have no one to discuss it with except yourself.
- Ancestry. Only half of the Seminole walked the Trail of Tears. The rest stayed and fought in Florida. I decended from those that stayed. However, every Native is a Native. I want to see what they went through. Sometimes I feel like I'm not Native enough. Sometimes others do. If nothing else it'll put that part of me at peace.
- I've seen the sun rise over the Atlantic for years. I've never seen the sun set over the Pacific.

Some of us must travel a long way to find and know ourselves. I wish you well on your journey and look forward to reading about the parts of it you feel inclined to share.
