Ok so for the last few days we have had a crow not an ordinary crow but a duck crow ... It goes quack quack so for days we have all been have a giggle at it when we hear it and try to record it for the hell of it ... Anyway being the geek or naturally inquisitive I google a crow duck ... And yes crows imitate ducks or any other animal ... Jeez I thought how cool ... So typed in migration route for ducks Kenya ... Well blow me is it not exactly where we are !!! So the crow lures a duck from the flock quack quack then the crows pals come along in a gang and peck the poor duck to death .... Amazing ... Poor duck though it's just wanting it's leg over .. X

What a day I had yesterday I had to go to another camp to check some equipment which was well boring but on the way up we seen some camels and goats and a few settlements which was pretty cool we thought until it came time to head back ... Well did the driver not decide to take a short cut oooft 4x4 at its best any we came upon one families huts and the kids came running out like crazy so we stopped and had a rummage to see what food we had and bottles of water ... Giving the smallest child the bannana the only food we had ... ( smallest child gets the least food in this culture ) and some frozen water .... Frozen he had probably not ever felt or drank chilled/frozen water before in his life .... Amazing to see them get all excited ... This happened a few times until we had ran out of water ... It was a truly humbling and scarey situation ... We seen a few of the adults with spears but they just waved ...
We do not know how they can survive in this heat with no apparent means to get water ... It's like a desert here the only trees that are green are poisonous ... The rest are brittle and dried out ... It's a drought and rain season is late ... Next time I head out of camp I'll be taking plenty water and some food for the kids ... Turkana - Kenya
