Girls who made matches in the 1800's often suffered from "phossy jaw"-their jawbones would rot away, poisoned by the phosphorous used to make matches.
Anne Bolcyn, one of King Henry VIII's six wives, had six fingers on each hand, and an extra nipple. This was claimed to be the evidence of witchcraft and was used in her trial when Henry had her executed in 1536.
