I've played a few more hours into Nightreign. Aside from the obvious flaws, it is fun to play. Basically how it works... You choose one of the pre-made characters, choose a quest, and go into the world starting at level one, and that characters base gear every time. While in world it's your goal to level up as much as possible, and find the best equipment you can because by nightfall you're going to be forced into a boss fight, and every time you die you restart at level one, and lose everything. The Storm from Fortnite, same thing pretty much, it's constantly closing in on you, and it feels like it's going pretty slow until suddenly it's right on your ass, and you gotta book it to the center of the map where it's safe. That's one thing I've noticed, it feels really rushed trying to figure out what you're doing until you get to the boss fight, and then it's painfully slow trying to kill the bitch. Now, obviously this is probably much easier, quicker, and more efficient in multi-player. It's honestly a bit tedious going up against a three person boss, one in particular against a Tree Sentinel plus two horsemen is a real pain in the ass. Something I do like is that because you're left to find your own random equipment, it gives you the opportunity to use things, and play with different builds that you probably haven't tried before. The starter character, the Wylder, is a pretty well-balanced, rounded knight type which is something I usually don't go for. I've always done Dex build, heavy bleed. It was funny when I first started Nightreign, I'm so used to having Rivers of Blood in Elden Ring that I kept trying to use Corpsepiler just from sheer muscle memory, and obviously that does not work when you're equipped with a far inferior greatsword. You can find Rivers of Blood... But I have no idea where. I haven't quite figured out if stuff is randomly generated or if it's always in the same location cause I tend to land in different places every time I drop. Different areas seem to drive you to different night time bosses. I've become very proficient at beating the Bell-,bearing Hunter with a bow xD Just to get killed by the fucking Tree Sentinel trio on night two. Like I said, they're releasing a patch soon to balance things better for solo players. Adding summons would help a lot. In the base game it makes a big difference having a summon there to help take the aggro especially with multi-boss boss fights. It's a lot especially when you've only got three healing flasks. There are places around the map to pick up extra flasks, good luck getting to them, getting good equipment, and getting leveled up enough before the fire is on you. I think it's a matter of memorizing where things are on the map. The problem is that things aren't labeled on the map so... It wastes time trying to figure out where you need to go. You can mark stuff yourself on it, I'm just always in such a rush that I don't bother. It's an odd mix of needing to take it slow, but also the game forcing you to go as quickly as possible. I don't hate it, I just haven't fully figured it out yet. I think one of the main reasons people hate it is because Elden Ring is this huge world that has such expansive, interesting lore. Nightreign is not about the lore at all. It's basically a boss gauntlet. Sure, you're a Nightfarer, and your job is to defeat the Nightlord. That's about all you need to know, and all you get to know aside from the little tidbits you learn about the playable characters. The heart of Elden Ring is the lore, the exploration, the investigation, and Nightreign doesn't have it, it doesn't even have item descriptions because it doesn't give you time to stop, and read shit. Nightreign has no heart. But. It's still fun in it's own way. It gives the player that reoccurring dopamine rush of getting past bosses one after another. But that's kinda all it is. And that... sucks.

Ya know, I'd like to say I'm surprised, but I think we all knew it was going to play out like this... As a massive FromSoftware/Souls fangirl who has been heavily invested in then since Demon's Souls, I can tell you this. We like what we like, we don't like dramatic change to game mechanics. And there is a lot... A LOT that's different about Nightreign compared to original Eldem Ring. It's too much, in my opinion. I'm still going to play it with an open mind, and hopefully my opinion changes. But from what I'm seeing so far, they've strayed too far from the tried-and-true beloved Souls formula. I get it, they wanted to do a more multi-player based thing because that's what's popular, that's what people have asked them for. I don't think it works for them. And also, there are a ton of people who don't want to di multi-player. People who are avoidant of other humans as much as possible, and people like me who just enjoy the solo journey. Obviously I play a ton of Fallout 76, I have no problem interacting with other people. But there's always something melancholic, and tragic, and lonely about Souls games that make me want to go it alone. And it just feels good being able to beat the games on my own. And honestly, I've hopped in with friends on Elden Ring to help them with bosses, and it's always a lot of screaming to the point where I'm actively hoping theu die so I can then focus, and beat the boss myself xD If playing with you makes me wish you were dead, we shouldn't play together. They did say they're already releasing a patch next week to rebalance the game better for solo players. Why they didn't just start with that... Again, they want you to play it multi-player, I think they tried to drive people into it by making solo play really difficult, and now they're backtracking because so many of us want to play alone. The sad thing is their next game, Duskbloods, is also going to be multi-player. But it's also, for whatever idiotic reason, going to be Switch 2 exclusive so I'm not seeing it being hugely successful. FromSoftware, perhaps upon seeing such previous massive success, has let it go to their heads, and seems to be making a lot of... questionable decisions. Similarly to when Dark Souls became hugely popular, and theu tried to change shit up with Dark Souls 2, and people hated it, still hate it. While I think Dark Souls 2 gets a lot of undue hatred, and isn't nearly as bad as people say, I hate seeing Nightreign getting lumped into that vein because it's not bad from what I've played so far. It's just... it's not Elden Ring. Not really. And that's what people wanted, more Elden Ring. Not some FrankenFortRing concoction.

So... If you mashed Elden Ring up with Fortnite, that's pretty much Nightreign. And... I don't wanna say I don't like it. Because there's a lot I do like, but equally... a lot I don't. And that's never been the case with a FromSoftware game for me, I've never really strongly disliked anything in any of the other games I've played. But I also don't like Fortnite so that's kind of expected. Maybe it works for some people, but for me, I dunno. One of the main things I enjoy in FromSoftware games or really any RPG is my ability to fully explore at my leisure. It took me several months to fully finish Elden Ring because I was working a full time job back then, but also because I love to explore, I want to see, and experience everything. Yeah, that doesn't really work in Nightreign because you've got an ever shrinking area that will kill you if you go outside of it. So you're on a timer to get shit done, and unlike in Elden Ring where you have a very vague direction of where to go, but you're mostly left to figure shit out by yourself, you have expeditions in Nightreign, you go out into the world with particular quests, basically getting to a certain area, and fighting a certain boss before the fire gets you. It just all feels very rushed, and I'm not a fan. I'm also not a fan of the fact that you don't create your own character, you control a team of pre-made characters, all with their own storylines, abilities, class, and whatever. And only one of these playable characters is female out of like... six or seven. And of course she's a big tittied witch because fan service. Couldn't have give us a badass Valkyrie or anything, nah, the people wants boobs and magic. And honestly, I uphold my opinion that this could have, and should have been a completely separate game to Elden Ring. Because mechanically it is very different. It's Elden Ring, but... it's not. It's a lot of bullshit, I don't know how else to explain it. It's overly complicated. It's not just picking a weapon, killing shit, and leveling up. I can't even comprehensively explain it, it's just a lot xD But I've only played a couple hours in so far so I'm still figuring it out. What I will say positively about the game, it's kinda given me this new perspective about the Greater Will. I've long been very anti-Greater Will because it arguably does some horrific shit to the world. And it's interesting because the premise of Nightreign is kinda like... so in this dimension I guess you'd call it, the Shattering happens, the Elden Ring is shattered, but instead of it leading into the whole wars between the demi-gods, and the Tarnished vying for the position of Elden Lord, instead the Shattering seems to bring about or release or summon into the world someone/thing called the Nightlord. And he's kind of an asshole, kinda wants to destroy everyone and everything. I suspect he's probably another Outer God, but I'm not nearly far enough into it to tell. But the whole game is basically you control this team, this fellowship, in fighting against the NightLord, and from what I can tell about the little worldly exploration I have done is that it's a lot of boss fighting. Pretty much every time I turned a corner, there was a boss in my face. And I get it, you're meant to play with other people. Of course, I will not be doing that because FromSoftware games have always been a solo journey for me, we're not changing that now. They obviously recommend you play with other people because it's not very well balanced for playing solo, but fuck that, I can handle it. Anyway, like I was saying about the Greater Will... You know, it makes you realize that despite the Greater Will's flaws, there are definitely worse things out there. And you have to look at it like this... The Greater Will came unto this world, and it gave the people there light, healing, warmth, it brought a lot of positive to people. The issue is that there were things being worshipped in this world long before the Greater Will appeared so to show up, and demand these creatures worship you as the one, and only God or be punished... That sucks. Now was that the will of the Greater Will or was it the will of the people in power using it? Because I feel like a lot of people tend to do a lot of horrific shit in the name of their religion, and you have to wonder if these horrific actions are honestly what said deity actually wants or if people are just using their religion as an excuse to be assholes. I feel like often times people hide behind religion just to be assholes. But that's just me. Where it gets iffy is that the Greater Will has actively punished people itself such as what it did to the Nox, sending a big space bug to decimate them, and plunging their entire civilization underground. The thing is... the Nkx, in the base game, worship someone called the "Lord of Night." Is it the same as the Nightlord? Because if it is then I can't really blame the Greater Will for what it did to them especially if it's trying to protect the world from this force that wants to destroy it. Plus it's like... you give these assholes light, and healing, and warmth, and they don't appreciate it at all, they actively fight against you. I think the biggest flaw the Greater Will had I'd wanting to be the only force. It represents Order, but you need more than order. You need chaos, and death, and darkness as much as you need all the good. The Outer Gods fighting, and struggling to remain the dominant force, it's a lot like the demi-gods fighting amongst each other for power when the world would be a better place if they all could have their own place, and work together. But unfortunately that's not how people or gods work. Everyone always wants to claw their way to the top no matter who they crush getting there. But I do have more sympathy for the Greater Will, if it was indeed trying to protect the Land's Between from this evil, and these idiots go, and shatter everything... I'm curious if we'll see any indication that it's still around. The guidance of grace is still there so... maybe.

There it is, perfectly clear. Miquella Enchanted Mohg. So for all the fuckboys sucking Miquella's dick with their "self-defense" bullshit... YOU'RE WRONG. Miquella charmed Mohg. He set the whole kidnapping up. He was never a victim. And when someone tried to stop him, he mind-fucked them as well, he steals your heart, and forces you to love him. He is fucking evil. This is immediately after Miquella's Great Rune breaks, and the enchantment starts to wear off of all the people he's charmed. And some of them start to remember what a piece of shit he is. Others...
174820564447515094
This is Leda, Miquella's most devout follower. Before his Great Rune shatters she acknowledges that she's charmed, but praises Miquella for bringing everyone, who would normally be killing each other, together in peace and harmony. What happens when it shatters? She immediately starts plotting to kill people she suspects aren't true believers. Because that's the kind of followers a kind, and compassionate deity would certainly encourage, go forth and murder all who defy me. Gee... sounds a lot like his mother who set Messmer off to burn all the hornsent to the ground who refused to worship her. Miquella claims to want to rule 1000 years through kindness, and compassion yet shows neither of these characteristics, he is exactly like Marika, he is exactly what he claims to not be. Sonofabitch.

We've got about 24 hours til Nightreign drops. I'm so nervous I won't like it. Obviously I'll like it, but... I dunno. From what I understand about the premise is that it takes place in, I guess, an alternate dimension/storyline after the Shattering. So whatever happened in the original base game, this is the same world, but a different way that things could have happened, I guess? I just don't really get why they did this, but I'm trying to be optimistic until I see for myself. It could completely blow me away like Shadow of the Erdtree, we'll see~
Playing through Shadow of the Erdtree again, and there's a lot I missed such as the conversation above, but also a conversation with the Dragon Communion priestess. Very interestingly she tells you, in my opinion, why Lantissax turns to the humans. The dragons are divided. You've got the Dragonlord, and his followers the powerful ancient dragons, and then you've got Bayle, the oldest dragon who betrayed, attacked, and maimed the Dragonlord. I suspect that maiming is why the Dragonlord is obviously missing a couple of his heads. I believe he's the only multi-headed dragon in world, and some of them are down to stumps. But this is apparently from a fight with Bayle which caused the Dragonlord, and the ancjents dragons to go against Bayle, and his followers. Most of the dragons you see in world aren't proper dragons, they're smaller drakes. The real dragons are the ancients, multi-winged, and much bigger. The drakes are Bayle's progeny, and that's why the ancient dragons taught humans about dragon magic so they would help hunt them down. But again... at some point the ancient dragons turn on humanity, and go to war with Leyndell. I would say probably because eventually the people partaking in Dragon Communion decided they wanted the more powerful abilities of the ancient dragons, and started hunting them down. You run into Lantissax a couple times, and she aggressively attacks you. Why though?

I wanna be happy about it, but... I don't know. It's hard watching something you love get taken into a new direction. It reminds me of Lord of the Rings. I read the books probably a year before the first movie came out, and I loved them so much, I was obsessed so that when the movies did come out I could immediately tell what was left out, and what was changed from the books, and they're excellent movies, they do the books justice, but it's also disappointing when something you love, and experience a certain way in your head is different, it can be disappointing in a way. But it could also be great, it could answer a lot of questions. I'm imagining seeing the Night of the Black Knives, I would LOVE to see that go down. But that's the thing about Elden Ring, and FromSoftware in general, their games ate made to leave about 90% of shit up tp interpretation. How did it happen, when did it happen, who did it, it's like Clue, you gotta put the pieces together, and decide for yourself what you think happened, and I'm not sure that can translate through a movie. I'm also curious what story a movie would follow. I can't see it being exactly like the gate where you follow the Tarnished. I think it would make more sense to follow one of the other main characters, like show Marika's journey because aside from the Tarnished she is probably the most important character. But a large part of the game is the fact that she was this huge influence, she shaped this whole world, she was a fucking god, and suddenly she disappeared after shattering the Elden Ring for a largely exactly unknown reason. There are an infinite number of ways a movie could go, and be great so I am curious... but skeptical.
Screenshot-20250527-165438-Chrome
Vyke would be an interesting choice. He has a very similar story to the Tarnished, he has huge connections to the dragons, the demi-gods, the Three Fingers, and it's highly suspected that he was, at some point, in possession of at least two Great Runes, maybe more. He was lined up to be Elden Lord, got pulled in by the Three Fingers, but never actually became chaos lord. But his relationship with dragons is particularly interesting, Lantissax especially who took the form of a human priestess to teach humans dragon magic, and it's speculated that she was in love with Vyke. Who doesn't love a good dragon/human love story? And Llantissax herself is a very interesting character because... to be powerful in dragon magic, to learn particular spells, you have to consume particular dragon's hearts. So... she betrayed her own kind by teaching this to humans. Musta had a good reason, right? She's an ancient dragon, and the ancient dragons ultimately went to war with the human capital of Leyndell. But she chose humans. Much like Seath the Scaleless in Dark Souls siding with Gwyn in their war with the dragons. FromSoftware does love their dragon wars. She's not the only one though. Llantissax had a brother, Fortissax, who also formed a very strong bond with one human, Godwyn. So strong that when Godwyn was brutally murderer, Fortissax tried to fight literal death out of Godwyn, and ended up being consumed by it himself thus becoming an undead dragon. Pretty badass. Easy fight, but still fucking cool as shit. I love good dragon lore~

I nearly got my hands on a Red Asylum Uniform... So close💀
A level 2000+ approached me about my Fasnacht masks for trade, specifically wanting my Glowing Bigfoot. Told him I'm only interested in trading for rare apparel. He asks, "Do you have Red Asylum?" Immediately got my undivided attention, but... tried to play it cool, tried not to act too interested. He tells one mask isn't equal to the value of the uniform. That's debatable, depends on how badly you want either. For me, that dress is worth every single mask I have, which is an outstanding deal for him, one high value item vs 12 high value items. All my masks for one dress. One dress you can technically find at any point all year round while the masks can only be obtained during that particular two week event. So personally I think it's a spectacular deal for him. He has to "think on it." Yeah, ok, bud, you do that. It kinda pisses me off because why even bring it up if you're not willing to actually commit to trading it? Maybe he was trying to see if I'd offer more, but he didn't ask for more, and at level 2000 what do you really need? I'd give him my caps, flux, scrap, mods, whatever, all of it can easily be replaced. I just can't find this damn dress. I haven't really been looking for it lately though. I tend to look for it more towards the end of a season when fewer people are playing, and we'll probably be hitting that in a couple weeks after Invaders. Someone told me that sometimes a player can get bugged so that the red variant specifically doesn't spawn. I don't know if I trust that or not since some people spend several years looking, and do eventually find it. They're hard to find because assholes who spend all day server-hopping trying to find them just to sell them like the douchebag who sells them for $65. Not that I actually believe that bullshit, who's paying $65 real dollars for a digital dress? Maybe $10, maybe, but $65? Fuck no.

On the last day, on my last attempt, I managed to get the last flower pot. So now I have the ability to grow all three base flowers, and make as many flower crowns as I desire. The three base flowers are used to turn into better flowers, and then those too into better flowers. You get rewarded these base flowers from doing the seasonal event, but since it's only a two week event, eventually you won't have access to the flowers anymore unless you have the pots that spawn them which are a random reward from doing the event. I was worried I wasn't going to get the last pot especially since I missed almost a whole week of this event, but I managed to get it. I probably could've found someone selling it, but I'd say since this event will be shelved for a year, possibly forever since all the bugs in it, it has some value to it. It kinda sucks when Bethesda does shit like this, makes things inaccessible, so I'm going to put flower crowns out for free in my vendor just in case anyone missed the opportunity to get them. Oddly enough, Imvaders From Beyond is supposed to start it's two weeks tomorrow, and that's odd because they usually don't run big events back-to-back. Will there be new rewards from Invaders? Seeing how they screwed Mothman Equinox, probably not. But I enjoy fighting the aliens so I don't mind. I also got up to level 150 on the season so it's fully finished, now we wait for the next season to drop. Should be sometime next month if they stick to the three month schedule, although I'm not super excited for it because they're severely nerfing my gun next season... for some reason. Not just my gun, but pretty much all automatic rifles. I don't know why Bethesda is fucking with what works, what has worked for years, instead of putting their time, and attention into, I dunno, all the horrific bugs in the game. Nah, let's make people completely redo the builds they've worked years on, that sounds fun. They're trying to balance the game tp where every playstyle is equal, and... They're just not. A melee player is never going to out-kill an automatic rifle unless you nerf the automatic rifles into the ground, and that's exactly what's happening. That's cool to take the fun out of my playstyle just to give it to another. I'm not giving up my gun, I'm a loyal girl, so we're gonna have to make it work.

DeliciousPants69, I would've hearted you back, but you ran away💔
For whatever reason, their newest seasonal event has majorly fucked a lot of other events. Mostly the spawn rates... I've gone into other events where enemies simply refuse to spawn. I did a whole run-through of Free Range, not a single cattle rustler showed up to steal my cows. And half the time in the new event, it just doesn't trigger into the next phase. Like after you talk to the npc who starts it it's supposed to trigger flowers spawning in that you need to collect, but a lot of the time it just doesn't or it takes so long that you don't have time. Bethesda has had this event coming up for quite awhile, and... surely it was play-tested so how did something so broken, that also breaks other parts of the game, make it through?

Miyazaki, why would you do this? Why would hand the direction of Elden Ring to someone who is proving they are so obviously completely inept? I just don't understand taking this thriving world, and being like, ok... So this is attached to it, but it's actually completely separate, it's, it's own thing. So hey, maybe you should've just made it it's own thing, it's own game. I'd rather not have more content than... whatever the fuck they're trying to do here. Basically taking a game that thrives through its lore, and making an entire DLC wherein the lore is completely irrelevant, and inconsequential. Obviously I'm going to play it, but I honestly don't get it, why they'd fuck it this bad.

Of course... They're named Candykill, AND they're pink so naturally they are the only flower worthy of crowning my lovely head~
174666697220253314-3
There are a variety of flowers to make into crowns, and the Candykill is one of the most difficult to obtain, but I had to have it. They're part of the newest event in 76, The Big Bloom. Much frolicking in flowers while dodging plant people, and explosives. Personally, I like it, but you know... most people feel the need to complain. Does it validate people's existence to CONSTANTLY complain about everything? Do you honestly believe your opinion means one single fuck to anybody? Sure, bud, if it makes you feel special, continue to shit on everything instead of just having fun~
Then I happened to glance up, and see this happening xD
174666697220253314-4
Two people pushing an afker out of the event area. If you use a melee weapon you can nudge people around, enough to scoot them away from the rewards they're desperate to get. Afkers don't necessarily bother me, but it really annoys some people if you sit at an event soaking up rewards without helping. Their excuse is, "Well I can't sit on a game all day." I think most people don't. I don't, and I still managed to get what I wanted. But if you are going to afk you should probably put yourself in a safer spot... otherwise you're gonna get pushed straight into some weaponized bees.

I was on 76 earlier, doing Moonshine Jamboree, when this guy comes running up to me, vigorously waving at me. I figure... he's just being annoying, standing in my way, I probably pissed him off, and now he's being a douche. I'm used to that. But then he drops a ton of junk onto the ground beside me, and he's shooting it which is generally code for, "Hey, this shit is for you." And I ignore him xD Because I don't want a bunch of useless junk. I dunno, I just... I don't like taking shit from people. I don't need it, and whatever I do need, I'll find it myself, I don't need anything from anyone, I don't need anyone's help. Classic Libra. Finally he resorts to getting on his mic, and telling me that the bag is everything he took from my vendor, and he doesn't want me to think he's a thief for taking it all for free. But... that's why I have it all in there... for free, for anyone to take. He was only a level 400, not like the level 5,000 I've watched blow through, and take everything. Either way, if I'm just giving it away then I don't care much who takes it. A lot of people complain that they want their stuff to go to newbie players. So find a newbie player, and drop everything on them. Which some do. The problem is that when you're level 1000+, and you go running at a level 20, they tend to run away despite your good intentions xD And they don't much like being chased. That's why I put it all in my vendor, and whoever grabs it, grabs it. It is nice when someone tries to be honest though, kind of a rare thing to track me down, and make sure I meant to be giving away 200 pounds of scrap for free. I mean, I'm over level 1,000 so I probably know what I'm doing, but... the game is buggy. It used to be, when 76 first came out, there was a really nasty bug where if someone bought out everything in your entire vendor, it would give them access to your entire stash inventory. That's why you'll come across vendors that have notes, and stuff marked up to max caps so it's impossible to buy out everything. Not sure if they ever fixed it. If somebody took my entire inventory I wouldn't cry about it. I've still got my gun, that's pretty much all I need.
He also asked me about my masks... Despite the big glowing sign that says they're for trade for rare apparel, people still ask me what I want for them. Obviously if I'm giving away scrap, meds, and ammo then I don't need them or money. I've had people offer me God-roll equipment, but unfortunately Bethesda has ruined g-rolls when everyone can basically craft whatever equipment they want, and I already have the best stuff for my build. So it's like... literally the only thing you could possibly offer me is rare apparel. People get way too excited over junk in this game, I honestly don't know what they do with it all... Sure, it's nice to have a certain amount of handy stuff like steel or lead or adhesive in your scrap box, stuff to repair your equipment or craft ammo, but who needs 10,000 wood or asbestos? That's why Sly sends people to me when they need shit xD Need copper? Go find Psycho. Looking for ballistic fiber? Talk to Psycho. Want mods or serums? Ask Psycho~

That third strike should've completely destroyed me xD A lot of people dislike the Rellana fight, but I personally enjoy it. She's a lot like Malenia albeit easier because she can't afflict you with Scarlet Rot, and while this moon attack is visually impressive it is much easier to dodge than the dreaded Waterfowl Dance. You just need perfect timing. Or... to get very, very, very lucky. Luck is absolutely a part of fighting any FromSoftware boss.

So... some of these people seem to be fully aware that Miquella has charmed them. Leda, and Freya both mention the fact that people are being brought together, and no longer trying to kill each other because Miquella has charmed them. Is it ok to force people into a mindset, to force their thinking, if it means everyone gets along, the fighting stops, the wars stop, everyone holds hands, and peace reigns? I dunno, dude, it just doesn't sit right with me. Hornsent brings up an interesting point... He says that because Miquella is going through the lands, discarding parts of himself, that he believes in Miquella because he's willing to sacrifice himself. The thing is... Miquella is getting rid of everything that makes him human, and in return he gets to become a GOD. So... is that really a sacrifice? He's not giving himself up for nothing, he's getting Divinity in return. Not much of a sacrifice, if you ask me, especially since he always resented his human form being that it was cursed to forever be a child's form. Doesn't really read as selfless to me.

The Fellowship of the Ring~
Well. Maybe not quite as likable. I do like most of Veilgaurd's companions, they're just not the Inquisition, no one is particularly my favorite. Apparently a lot of people dislike Veilgaurd because our protagonist, Rook, doesn't have this fully elaborate detailed background... And I'm just like, yeah... yeah, that's how most cookie-cutter rpg protags are though. There's a difference between a set main character, and one you create yourself. Like the Red Dead games, John and Arthur are amazing pre-set main characters to step into. They are who they already are no matter what choices you make. Personally, I think Rook from Veilguard has a decent amount of background in game. Compared to, I dunno, a FromSoftware game where you just kinda crawl out of a hole, and start stabbing shit xD What do I know about Rook? Well. She's an elf from Tevinter who was found on a battlefield as a baby, and grew up to join the Shadow Dragon's where she got in trouble with the organization for, if I recall correctly, freeing some slaves which pissed off the Venatori. Something like that. Then Varric recruited her to help find Solas which leads to the present day. And that's just for the Shadow Dragon class so like... what the fuck do you mean you need more backstory? "I don't understand my character's motivation for being involved with all this." Umm... because Elven gods are running amuck, and somebody has to stop them? You need someone to spoon feed you a list of calculated reasons why your player character should want to stop them instead of just going home, and calling it a day? I fucking swear, people like this make video games so unfun. I dunno, it's a game, use your imagination if you need a reason. Gods forbid you should have to think, that a $70 game shouldn't just play itself.

I want to be excited for it, but every time I think about it having Dark Souls bosses FOR NO FUCKING REASON it just leaves a really bad taste in my mouth.
Come on, trust From, they wouldn't fuck it up, right?
Right...?
