Prologue

There was the sound of screams, so piercing it could hurt someone’s ears. Then a loud noise with an added wail of dying from inside. From inside there were a couple dropping thuds as bodies hit the ground, glowing a pale pallor. The sight, how horrid to see the rare beauty of rich crimson blood slowly slide down the glass of the window. Then a creaking sound was heard as if the old door hadn't been oiled or fixed for many years. It stood wide open, just pushed one more time, with one last creak of the hinges, able to see a shadowed figure come out of the candle lit home. It looked like a haunted ghost as it stood gazing at nothing. All there was, was a cloaked deathly looking character. Maybe it was a masked murderer, no, it wasn't...then who? Who would wander into a woods so haunting at this time of night?

So many questions people would ask soon, once the dead were found. Then a loud thud was heard as the door closed behind the character. This stranger carried an abnormal weapon that no one would recognize. It, she, he, whoever it was stared through the blood stained glass. It was staring at something more than just at the turned over table, but an empty hand, which seemed to have held an object. It seems so self-explanatory doesn't it? The hand moved a little, some sign of life, yet weakening every moment. Poor person, it was, but a child. It shook for a moment, then rose up, just as quickly it hit the ground. So limp and fragile, in a puddle of it’s own lifeless blood.

The figure could have smiled at its own success for having killed the La porta family. Italian family, but they were special for some reason, for they held the jewel of some kind. The creature as it shall be called for now, wanted the jewel and now it was moving in a glide towards the dark brooding woods. The house was smaller, the candlelight gone by now. No more noise, the sight of the creature completely gone. Just the haunted looking cottage in the middle of the wood.

Part I: The Only Survivor

(Intro...)

Everyday Blomstre over looked Narvik, Norway Mountains as the sun went down. She loved sunsets, they helped her take her mind off the things that were to happen soon. Giggles were heard from two little kids and running steps from a young woman. Blomstre turned around to see her little niece and friend charging towards her. Seeming a little shocked to the friend's sister chasing after them, but she had a feeling why. Her glance fell upon her niece who ran up behind and grabbed onto her skirts and looked around. Blomstre couldn't help, but smile at her niece and glanced at the other little girl, with her tiny hands the girl put them on Helena's shoulders.

Then clogging steps of the woman's feet came to a halt to catch her breath. Blomstre could tell that this woman was young and fair. She admired the girl's beautiful orange lock bounce off her shoulders. The young woman known as Elizabeth, her family foreigners from Ireland glared at little Helena and little Dervil (little sister). Seeing the earring in Dervil's hand.

"You little munchkins handover what you stole from me or I'll tell mum!" said Elizabeth, still gasping for air. Blomstre could tell that this woman was plump. "I want it back..."

Blomstre shook her head, putting her hand up to stop Elizabeth from speaking again. Her green pupils went wide and she sighed looking at her.

"Now, now m'dear, I'm sure these little ones were only playing," said Blomstre, and took hold of both the girls hands pulling them out from behind her.

The young woman frowned, but nodded in agreement. She brought out her hand as if expecting to receive something. Looking at Elizabeth, Dervil became nervous, trying to hide again but didn't succeed. Instead put her head to Blomstre's skirts, almost in tears. "No! I won't go, she is angry and will punish me..." She whined into Blomstre's skirts. "She'll tell mum then I'll get into bigger trouble and get a paddling."

"Dervil stop your whining and go to your sister. I wouldn't blame her for punishing you." Her voice sounded strict, but her eyes glanced at Elizabeth who in turn in her own silence returned a smile. "Go now Dervil and return that earring to her."

She pulled the girl away from her side, then gently gave her a shove to Elizabeth. "That's a good girl." Blomstre said, watching Dervil go up to hr sister. Her hand grabbed the little girl roughly and her sister took her earring, turning to Mrs. Vinter.

"Thank you so much Mrs. Vinter." She said, tugging on Dervil's arm, pulling her a long with her.

Blomstre waved to them, not noticing Helena has escaped her grip. Though she was quick at turning around and seeing her. Before they both knew it, it was nightfall. Smoke was coming out of the chimney. Her aunt lifted up her skirts to walk through some mud without getting clothes dirty. She was walking towards Helena and takes her back inside, but something stopped Blomstre from ushering Helena inside. Her gaze turned to the hill above as she saw a quarter moon. Shaking her head quickly. She turned to face her niece and pushed her to the house.

"Whats wrong? Did you see something auntie?" Helena asked in her sweet melodic voice. Blomstre looked down at her and stroked her brown hair gently. "No sweetheart, not all..."
