It was a dark, stormy night when they headed out to dinner. They knew they were going to make it on time, and were ready for fun this evening. They had it all planned out to have dinner, and then head off to the night club that they heard about. What they didn't know is what would happen along the way. So, as the friends headed off to the restaraunt they were unaware of the thing lurking behind them.
They made it to the restaraunt and walked through the door. "Party of 4 please, I believe we had reservations," responded one of the friends. "Name please," asked the hostess. "It's under Cummings." he replied. The hostess looked on the list and found the name she was looking for, "Right this way please. Your table is ready." So, the four friends followed her to their table.
When they got to it they took their seats and picked up their menus. "What looks interesting to you?" asked Tom. "I'm not sure yet." replied Sara. "Hmm...I think I'm going to have the chicken alfredo," responded Tony. They all looked over at Rachel, but she wasn't saying a word, nor was she looking at her menu. "Is everything alright?" they asked. "Huh? Oh sorry...I just have this weird feeling, but I'm sure it'll go away. I think I'm just going to have the lobster tail with some fried shrimp or crab legs." she said in response.
Rachel then looked off into the distance and saw a mysterious figure lurking in the shadows near the bathrooms. She knew she wanted to walk over there, but wasn't sure if she should. She kept glancing over, but suddenly the figure was gone. "Have you guys felt like we're being followed?" she questioned everyone at the table. "No," they responded. They all looked at her for a moment, and then went back to their menus.
The waiter finally walked up and asked, "Are you ready to order?" They all looked at one another and decided that they were. "I'll have the chicken alfredo, ceasar salad with ranch, and a side of veggies with bread." responded Tony. "I'll have the sirloin, medium rare, with a side of mashed potatoes and broccoli with cheese, no salad." said Tom. "I'll take the garden salad with no tomatoes, pasta primavera, mixed veggies, and garlic break." replied Sara. Then it was Rachel's turn, but she was so off in her own world it seemed that Tom ordered for her. "She'll have the lobster tail with some fried shrimp and a side of crab legs, broccoli with cheese, and some dinner rolls." he replied for her. "And to drink?" asked the waiter. "Sweet tea all around," said Tony. Rachel spoke up, "I'll have a pina colada with no pineapple garnish on the side, but a cherry instead."
The waiter wrote everything down and walked off. They all looked over at Rachel, and Tony asked, "Are you sure you're okay? You seem a little out of it for some reason." She looked up at them and said, "I'm fine...I just need to run to the bathroom for a moment. Will you all excuse me?" Then she got up and walked to the restroom. As soon got closer to it, her stomach began feeling like it was in knots. She knew something was off, but wasn't quite sure what it could be. She continued on her way, and when she finally reached the door she looked around. There was nothing there, so she walked into the bathroom.
When she was done, she exited out of the facility, yet again to look around. This time she saw someone standing behind the artificial tree near the men's restroom, but wasn't sure what it was. She decided to find out as it made her feel a little uncomfortable. As she walked over, she realized the figure vanish into thin air. "What was that? Where did it go? Am I imagining things?" she thought in her mind. She had no idea what just happened, but knew she needed to sit down and eat and hope that that helps her some.
She soon arrived back at the table, only to find that two of her friends were gone. "Where's Tom and Tony," she asked Sara. "I don't know. They said they'd be back shortly. They left shortly after you did." she replied back. They looked at each other in a nervous, questionable manner. Then the waiter walked up with their drinks and the salads. "Your food shall be out shortly. I hope you enjoy your meal." he replied. They accepted their stuff and sat there waiting for the guys to come back to the table.
Fifteen minutes had passed when the food was being brought out to the table. The guys still hadn't come back yet, and now the girls were beginning to worry. "Where could they be?" asked Sara. "I don't know." responded Rachel. "Did they say where they were going? Maybe to the bathroom, do you think?" "I really don't know." Sara responded back. They looked around hoping to see the guys standing some place or walking back to the table, but they were nowhere to be found. The girls began eating as they didn't want their food to become cold.
Finally the guys came back to the table. "Where were you? Dinner's been here for about ten minutes now," said Rachel. "We went to the bathroom, then walked outside for a smoke." replied Tony. "Sorry to keep you waiting ladies," replied Tom. "It's fine, but your dinner may be a little cold." said Sara. They all sat there and ate silently. As soon as they were done, Tom went and paid the bill. Then they gathered their belongings and headed back out into the night.
While walking down the sidewalk headed towards the night club, they looked up at the sky and realized that the storm had subsided and the stars and moon were visible. "It's a beautiful night,' said Rachel. "Yes it is," replied Tony. They continued walking and enjoying the night air. Suddenly they all stopped. "What?" they all looked at each other and questioned as they all felt the same thing. "Did you hear that?" asked Sara. "The footsteps," replied Tom. "Yes." she replied back. They all looked around, but none of them saw anything or anyone.
"Maybe it was nothing, or maybe it was our own footsteps," said Rachel. "That could very much be true," said Tom. So, they continued walking. They turned down one of the alleys taking a shortcut to the next road that they needed when Rachel decided to sit for a second. No one realized that she had even stopped and were still continuing on their way. All of a sudden, she heard something and looked up. "Hello?" she said nervously. Then she saw something pass by her quickly. "What was that?" she thought to herself.
She continued on with what she was doing, and then realized a shadow cast over her. When she went to stand, she felt the cold hands of something or someone clench ahold of her. "Who are you and what do you want?" she questioned not knowing if she'd get a response in return. When she tried to look back at them, they would move to keep her from seeing. All she could hear was the panting of their breath, and feel the warmth of it on her skin. She had chills running down her spine, and thought she was going to die.
Her friends who were still walking finally realized she wasn't with them, and began heading back to locate her. As they slowly made thier way back down the alley, they were calling to her, "Rachel....Rachel, where are you? Can you hear us?" But she couldn't respond for the figure had their hand over her mouth. She was terrified and didn't know what to do. She suddenly just wanted to die and get it over with. What was this person's point of stalling.
They could hear the footsteps of her friends getting closer, and their voices getting louder, "Rachel answer us...please. Where are you?" they continued to call to her. Then she felt a sharp, piercing pain in her neck. "What was that?" she thought. Then her body felt numb and her head light. She could feel the stranger's breath on her neck still and the cold liquid of something dripping down it. What had he done and why, she kept thinking. Then she dropped to her knees. Right as her friends were approaching, the figure said, "Now you will always be mine, and you will know where to find me when the times right. Have a good night my sweet, sweet love." and with that he was off.
"Rachel, are ;you okay?" asked her friends. She just knelt there not moving. Tom and Tony walked up to her and helped her up. "Do you guys see anything wrong with her? She looks pale," stated Sara. The guys looked at her and couldn't seem to find anything, then as Tom was moving her hair, he noticed something wet. Sara lit a lighter as they tried to see what it was, and that's when they saw the blood. "Why is she bleeding? What happened?" Sara was frantically asking. "I don't know...there's to puncture holes in her neck though." said Tom. "Wait...you don't think? No, it couldn't be....could it?" said Tony. "What are you thinking?" asked Tom. "A vampire?" said Tony. "A vampire? Are you serious?" questioned Sara. "Those only exist in stories."
The two guys helped Rachel along the way until she was feeling rejuvanated, and then she walked on her own. They all continued to the night club, except what they didn't know about this night club was that it was for Gothic/Vampire types. Their friends hadn't told them that, but then again they didn't know that their friends were into that type of stuff either. As they walked up to the club, they noticed the people standing outside and how they were dressed. "Are you sure this is the right place?" asked Tom. "It says 'The Cave of Darkness'" replied Sara. So, they walked in.
To be continued.....
