At the hospital with my brother now, he's been in really good spirits. He fractured his pelvic bone, and his spine, but they expect those to heal fine on their own. He did break his wrist, which he had to have surgery on. If it doesn't set right, they may have to put in a metal rod. Hopefully it doesn't come to that. A lot of his co-workers have been in and out, and it's always weird to be surrounded by cops. He's going to be staying I. The hospital for a couple of days, which will be good for him. He needs to just rest and heal.

I so glad he's doing alright, and again, at least it wasn't worse. It is weird to see my brother laid up in a hospital bed, but at least he is laid up in the hospital bed and not on a slab in a refrigerator.

That's really frightening, I'm glad he's doing alright.

My worst nightmare has come true. My brother has been injured on the job. I just spoke to my mother, and apparently he fell 15 feet off a staircase, broke his wrist and fractured his hip. He needs to have surgery. At least it's not worse, but it's still pretty damn bad. He's never going to be the same again, and at our age, him already past 40, he's not going to heal like he would if he was younger. Ever since he became Sheriff's Deputy, this is what I've always dreaded the most, getting a call about him being hurt. At least he isn't dead, but still. A fractured hip is nothing to write off. We're going to go down to the hospital later today, he said he didn't want us to come right now, he's with his partner. So yeah... I just have to keep telling myself that at least this isn't worse.

I've been rereading though the original Hunger Games books. And man, reading them now, in our current climate, that shit hits so different. I just started the third book today, and it's just... It's hitting a little too close to home. I haven't read the books in a number of years, and now that we're in the midst of a fascist regime, Americans being murderd on the streets of our cities just because they happen to be filming the American Guestapo... Yeah. It's a different read. Are you, are you, coming to the tree?

Another person was murdered in broad daylight by Trump's Guestapo today in Minneapolis. At what point do we say enough is enough? At what point do we actually do something to remind this fascist regime that we, the people, have the power?

I heard back from one of the clothing vendors for Faire, and... It wasn't great. The pay is less than what Andrew has always offered, and the hours are worse. It's a shame. I guess I never really appriciated that Andrew paid his Faire family extremely well, but I appriciate it now. It does suck, but I'm not all that bothered by it. It would have been nice to work another season, but maybe it's for the best that I don't. I'll keep putting feelers out there and seeing if other vendors can match what I got with Andrew. If not, I'm not going to stress about it.

Well, Faire season is coming around again. I put out some feelers about possible openings at some of the clothing vendors. I've worked for Andrew for the past three seasons, and I've loved that job, but I think branching out wouldn't be a bad thing. I've only ever worked for food vendors and I really want to see what other parts of Faire hold. So, we'll see what kind of responses I get. It really helps me that I've been working Faire since 2019, and the food court is the most overwhelming and busiest part of Faire. Of course, considering how things go with the impending move, I may not even have time to work it, but I'll see how things go. I have until March to figure out if I'm working it or not.

Every single day in America, we see a new, unjustifiable horror from this administration. Every. Fucking. Day.

2026... Well, here's to hoping things will be better this year. The move is imminent, for reasons beyond Logan's or my control. So, regardless of what happens, we will be out of California this year, most likely by June or July. We have an idea about the house, and while it's not one I would have picked had I the option, I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth. So, here's to another year. It can't be as bad as last year. Or, at least, I hope it won't be.
