Have You Ever?

16:27 May 30 2007
Times Read: 671

Have you ever met someone who thinks the world centers around them? I have and everytime I get frustrated. This type of person does not consider the feelings of others. Oh but you better consider them. If you do not consider them, they will throw a hissy fit.

I have seen good threads on the Rave get ruined by someone pulling this kind of stunt. They will pick apart what someone else said not because what was said was inappropriate or totally out in left field. They are wanting to cause drama and cause ill will. You can tell them to begin with that you do want drama in a thread and they will hurry up and cause it.

They have a constant need to be the center of attention and when it is too exhausting for others to meet that need, they go to feeling unloved.

A song Everyone Should Know

Imagine

by John Lennon

Imagine there's no heaven

It's easy if you try

No hell below us

Above us only sky

Imagine all the people

Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries

It isn't hard to do

Nothing to kill or die for

And no religion too

Imagine all the people

Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer

But I'm not the only one

I hope someday you'll join us

And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions

I wonder if you can

No need for greed or hunger

A brotherhood of man

Imagine all the people

Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer

But I'm not the only one

I hope someday you'll join us

And the world will live as one

One Year On the Rave

22:58 May 22 2007
Times Read: 684

As of today, I have been on the Rave for one year. I cannot believe that I have stayed with something that long.

Since I have first joined the rave, I have learned a lot about myself and others. I have met my share of weirdos. One guy messaged me and asked if I could make him a real vampire. I am sure he was referring to the Hollywood version of vampires and off his medication. He was automatically blocked. I had one guy show up in my town wanting to live with me. He was married!!!!!! That was scary. Thank all of heaven that his wife called me and let me know he had various warrants all over the place. . When he called me, I was able to scare him off by telling him that I would call the police if he showed up anywhere near me. After that incident, I had to stop giving people on the Rave my address or phone number unless someone else I knew well also knew them.

I have met some interesting people on the Rave as well. I love reading imageinwords journal. She is a talented writer and very intelligent. I am not worried about that one having a mental illness or stalking anyone. MaidenUnderworld is one of my favorite people on the rave. I am so hoping my friend Connie ( Cadamia on the rave- She is the one who introduced me to this site) can go to her baby shower. It seems MaidenUnderworld has the same wicked sense of humor that I have. Angelus is very funny and his journal is also a must read for me.

I could go on and on about the people I have encountered on the rave that I have enjoyed either talking to or reading their journal. If you are reading this and have seen me on your Last 10 more than once when it comes to viewing your journal, rest assured you are one of the ones that I am glad I have encountered on this site.

A Sad Day

22:24 May 17 2007
Times Read: 694

Today they buried my friend's daughter that was killed my her boyfriend. They had a rosary Mass for her the other night. I found out about the rosary mass too late and had a previous appointment today that I could not reschedule. I am still hurt and angry that this young woman had to die. I am unable to understand right now why he had to take her from her family. Why this man think he had the right to take her from her children?

I doubt I will ever be understand the killer's part in this. I would like to say I could forgive him. But I doubt I ever will. Her daughters will get ready for their first prom without their mother. They will get married and not have their mother there. When they have their first child, their mother will not be there. Her son will become a man and not have his mother. I am angry for this. Erica will never hold her grandchildren or spoil them like most grandmothers do. He took something special and priceless away from Erica and her children. Something that he had no right to take.

Officers arrest boyfriend in woman's death

Listen to this article or download audio file.Click-2-Listen

Saturday, May 12, 2007

By Emily Ingram

Tribune-Herald staff writer

The last time friends saw Erica Rivera alive, she and her boyfriend were arguing two weeks ago at an East Waco club.

This morning, her boyfriend sits in a jail cell, arrested in her death.

McLennan County Sheriff’s Office officials arrested Eric Williams on Friday at his home in the 500 block of Colcord Avenue after 25-year-old Rivera’s body was discovered in a shallow grave in eastern McLennan County.

According to a search and arrest warrant affidavit, Williams unwittingly led friends of the couple to where police say he left Rivera’s body.

On May 3, Williams, 36, showed up at a friend’s house asking for help to pull his car out of mud on private property off Elm Lake Road near Hallsburg and Riesel, the affidavit stated. The friend, who knew Williams’ family had once owned the property, grew suspicious when he heard of Rivera’s disappearance.

The friend searched the property on Tuesday, the affidavit stated. There, he found what was later identified as Rivera’s body in a shallow, uncovered grave.

Justice of the Peace Belinda Summers was called out to the property, where she pronounced the body deceased and ordered it sent to the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas for autopsy, the affidavit stated. Preliminary autopsy results were not available Friday.

Sheriff’s officials declined to release further details beyond the affidavit. It was not clear Friday where and when Williams was arrested or how and where Rivera died.

Investigators were looking to seize Williams’ 1981 Oldsmobile in the search, as they believed Williams took Rivera in the car to the property where she was found, according to the search warrant.

Rivera’s family reported her missing May 2, and police earlier this week asked the public for help in the disappearance.

Friends last saw Rivera leaving the Falcon Club with Williams April 28, officials said. When questioned by police when Rivera was reported missing, Williams said he had left with her that night, but later dropped her off at the corner of Forrest Street and East Webster Avenue.

Williams said he had not spoken to Rivera since he dropped her off.

In tearful television interviews, family members pleaded with Rivera to come home, saying they feared the worst as it was not in her character to go so long without contacting family.

Family members declined to speak with the Tribune-Herald on Thursday, saying only that Rivera’s mother was mourning in seclusion with support of family members. A tearful uncle requested media and the public respect their privacy as they grieved for their beloved granddaughter, niece and daughter.

Williams remained in McLennan County Jail late Friday, awaiting arraignment on a murder charge, a jail spokeswoman said.

Erica's mother was my neighbor and once of the first people I met after moving to Waco following my divorce. Her mother is one of the nicest people I have ever met. I was not doing well money-wise when I first came to Waco. Rosie ( Erica's mother) gave Malcolm , my son, all of the clothes her son had grown out of. These clothes were almost brand-new when my son got them. Erica leaves behind three children. Whenever Rosie had the grandchildren and would get pizza, my son was invited to join them and watch movies too. She even took my son to see one of the Soooby-Doo movies when it came out. I have lost touch with Rosie since I moved, but I am hurting for her today. Erica was a young woman full of life who loved her children. I am so angry that this guy took her away from the people who loved her. I am angry that he let her family worry and beg her to come home, when he knew she was dead. I hope he gets the death penalty for what he has done.

Rant Part 2

00:10 May 09 2007
Times Read: 714

Boy, you cannot present an idea to some people without them getting upset and being immature about it. I have no problem with disagreement. In fact, I think it is good and can lead to better understanding and perhaps compromise.

The idea about putting a clan system into place in my new coven was just an idea. Nothing was set in stone. The same member I wrote about in my last journal entry, decided to inform the whole coven in a forum thread that she would not participate and may leave the coven if we start a clan system. That was a knee-jerk immature reaction if I ever heard one. This person usually acts more mature, so I am wondering is something is going on in her real life that has her in a bad mood. Or she may be one of those who has to have her way or else she is going to threaten others. If the latter is the case and I find that to be it, I will not be able to deal with her any longer. That is emotional blackmail and I prefer not to be her victim .

A Time To Rant

22:23 May 08 2007
Times Read: 717

Don't get me wrong. I am in the best coven on the Rave in my opinion and would not volunteer to go to another society. My coven mistress is great and most of the time I love the little family that is my coven. But like all families, we have our problems.

One of the things that gets me is how if a suggestion is made to improve the coven , many members will automatically have a problem with it. Mikhail suggested divided the coven into clans to make it more manageable for the staff to deal with the members. We have over sixty members at the present time. The same idea was put into effect in our old coven and now that coven is normally number one. A member of our current coven ( she was in the old coven) made the statement in a forum thread that it was a nightmare in the old coven and it would lead to people segregating themselves. Maybe this young lady needs a good class in sociology or needs to open her eyes to our society in general. No matter how many laws have been passed to prevent segregation in public accommadations, people still tend to stick to those they are most comfortable with and most like them. When is the last time you heard of Paris Hilton hanging out with a person who works as a trash collector? Her friends are people similar in nature to her. College students have been known to want to stay in dorms with students the most like them. There are all African-American dorms on many college campus. The Castro District in San Franscisco is a haven of those who are gay. Every school and workplace in the country has its own little cliques. I am not wanting to turn the clock back on civil rights. I do not want to see segregation become the law of the land again. I am just pointing out a basic fact of human nature.

Our coven can still be a tight-knit family with the clan system. Everyone will have to work together and keep all negative attitudes to themselves.

My Views on Illegal Immigration

02:07 May 07 2007
Times Read: 722

It seems you cannot watch all news cable network without hearing about illegal immigration at least once a day. I live in Texas so every so often I hear about yet another business that is being raided for hiring illegals. In fact, one business in my town loves to hire illegal Mexicans and work them seven days a week.

I do not want anyone to enter this country illegally. I feel this is not good for both the person who got here illegally or any American citzen needing a job. The person who comes to American illegally is going to get the lowest paying jobs around and be exploited by their employer. The average American citzen is going to have a hard time keeping or finding a job in states with large number of illegal immirgrants.

The best way to stop this is to go after the businesses that continue to hire illegals with both guns ablazing. The current President seems to be buddies with those in the business world and does not want to enact stiffer penalties for businesses that continue to violate the law for hiring illegals. He wants to grant amnesty to a large number of illegals that are already here. He should also put pressure on Mexico especially to alleviate the conditions in its country that compels so many people to leave and come to the United States illegally.

The only people I would grant amnesty to that are here illegally are the ones who have had children on American soil. I would set a strict timetable on that so that others would not enter the country and have children just so they could stay. If a children is an American citzen and their parents are deported , then there is a great chance there is not any other family member in the United States that will take them. They will then go into the state's foster care system. If there is a large number of these children (chances are there is since there is a large number of illegal immirgrants ), then the state's Department of Children and Protective Services is going to be put in a big bind. Most states do not have enough caseworkers or funds to deal with the cases they already have. People in states with large numbers of illegal immigrants would have their taxes go sky high.

This is a nation of immigrants. I am a third generation American on my mother's side. Her grandfather came to this country from Scotland. I have no problem with someone coming here from another country as long as they follow the law.

Freedom of Speech

15:46 May 03 2007
Times Read: 731

I bought the DVD of the movie Bobby this week and got around to watching it last night. I so love this movie. Anyway, I looked at the movie previews that are at the beginning of any DVD. There is now a movie about the Dixie Chicks and the little controversy about the remarks Natalie Maines made about President Bush in another country.

We have freedom of speech in this country. Unless you cry fire in a crowded place and cause a stampede or cause a all-out riot with your words, most in the United States would agree you have the right to say what you want. When the Constitution was written, the founding fathers did not say you have a right to free speech as long as you do not offend someone else or were on the shores of America. Some were offended by Natalie Maines remarks, because they were spoken in public. I have never seen in the Constitution that you only had free speech in private or that if you are a celebrity you were limited in what you could say. She openly criticized the leader of her country. People got angry. Some got more than angry. Maines received death threats. She did not support Bush or his policies. Well, okay. That does not mean she deserves to die. In Nazi Germany saying anything out of line about Hitler would get you killed. This is not Nazi Germany, the former Soviet Union, North Korea,Iraq under Sadaam Hussein or Iran.

IF you do not like what someone has to say, that is fine. You can even intelligently express dissatisfaction with it. As I watching the preview, I say a couple of people complaining about Maines that would blow a gasket if someone tried to take a particular right from them guaranteed by the Constitution- the right to bear arms. Yeah they looked like the stereotypical redneck. They can tell someone they are wrong to exercise their freedom or speech, but take away their guns and they wil go crying to the NRA.
