I live in Brisbane, capital of Queensland a state in Australia.



On january 11 and 12, Brisbane experienced the worst flooding since perhaps 1893. If it were not for the Wivenhoe dam built after the 1974 flood it could have been much worse.



Tonight Cyclone Yasi is set to cross the north Queensland coast. It is bigger and stronger than Hurricane Katrina that caused so much death and destruction to New Orleans in 2005.



I fear that when we wake up in the morning we will learn that many have lost their lives.
