Today was a day of reflection. We often come across what we do, or do not want. But do we ever really break it down to what we need. I mean really, what we need. If the power were to go out would I die? no, but do things that run on power make me part of who I am? This computer for instance. Is it who I am? Do I need it to surrvive? No. But look at the sight at which I am currently writing. Is this not part of who I am? An expression of self in all it's futility, and insignificance? What is it that is necessary for us to maintain the individuality that makes each of us us? I find that the need to express ones self, even if only to ones self as through this journal is necessary. I believe it grounds our individuality, on a basis that some body may actually care. Regardless of the truths that lie out there. Look at all those who have died before us and left no legacy or rememberance of who they are. How many of us will be the same? And is it then part of the human psyche to believe that their life is important? How many thousands have died and been forgotten? How many people have truly affected the utcome of events that changed life for others to follow? Then if they did not affect life for others then what was their end and their purpose? To what end will each of ours be? And when we are gon how will we measure our lives? Hmmm...
Power. In the deepest darkest part of us we all crave it. Whether one wants political (popularity), dominance (physical), financiall (money), or any other, we all seek it. But what is power? What defines power...? And then how do people, and I mean individuals, persue it?
