The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

The event that I'm about to describe took place on another website, but I thought that some of my readers here might get a kick out of it. I did.



I had a discussion with someone about doing a film. They were asking and asking and asking for me to write something. I finally cornered them into telling me exactly what they were looking for and they did. So I wrote them a script..... 4 pages, not my best stuff, just enough to deliver the story they were looking for. So they told me they loved it and wanted to get together and shoot it. I explained that I'm knee deep in my own projects but that we could steal some time to get it done in between. This, at first, was perfect for them..... so they said. Anyways, they tried to pressure me into doing the project.... even asking that I take a day off from work to shoot on a monday..... not gonna happen. They then said they had someone else who was going to shoot it, which was great... I was interested in seeing how someone else worked one of my scripts into a film ( seeing of course, the translation of my story to the new director's vision).



So I wait, and wait, and do some more waiting, and then finally, I asked how everything turned out. They said they have to find someone else to shoot because the other people wanted to make too many changes. Now, this isn't the funny part...... they were actually complaining that the script, mind you, 4 pages long, is too hard to shoot. Not to mention, too costly. I sat back when I heard this and laughed. I mean actually laughed aloud at the fact that a 4 page short was too difficult and too costly to shoot.



Now, let me give you the background.......



Guy and Girl, in a location (can be a house, car, etc.) Talking briefly about a problem they are having. Girl starts to cry, guy gives her shit.... girl slips out knife and kills guy.



Breakdown:



Production time: 1-2 hours

Makeup and effects: 15-30 minutes

Total cost (including car wash if car is used):

10-50 dollars.



When I pointed all of this out to the person, they called me a few names and then deleted me from their friends list on the other site. So what does everyone think? Am I wrong to laugh at the idiocy behind this person's thoughts?
