and he is doing very well, climbing all over the place even though he cant yet see... still hasnt opened his eyes

he went to my family reunion with me, i set my alarm for every 3 or so hours to feed him...

im so tired :)

night before last there was a pretty good thunderstorm. a friend of mine works at a rest area along I-10. there were alot of branches knocked down and dead birds everywhere... and a baby squirrel! he called me and i went and picked him up... he doesnt have his little eyes or ears open so he is about 2 weeks old...

he is eating the formula from a dropper well... hasnt been quite 24 hours yet... no injuries that i can tell, he moves well and chatters a little bit so i think he will be fine.

now i am trying to think of names for him.

i love the little babies!

my mother, my son and i went ona road trip this weekend. we went across texas (took 10 hours) and across north louisiana, then north to arkansas and stayed with my grandfather for a couple of days. it was pretty cool because my son got to see where his great grandfather grew up and where he lives now. then we went south through louisiana all the way to the coast. we saw a few alligators (one of the best parts for my son... who loves all things reptilian) and picked up sea shells on the beach around cameron... it was sooo sad though, to see all the destruction from hurricane katrina. you could see debris everywhere and places where houses used to be... and boats that should have been in the ocean were stranded, rusty hulks inland about 1,000 feet from the beach

sometimes all that was left was an old oak tree with a tire swing...

so sad
