Chapter 2:
The costume ball was in full swing when Mira, Lana and Raven arrived. Miss. Kira was outside to greet them, the three stopped by her to say hello and Kira began to comment on the detail of the outfits that the three had on. "Mira you are an amazing costume artist, you ability to place colors that some would think never to go together and make it work." She cooed marveling at the color patterns of Lana's dress. Mira placed a hand behind her head and Lana smiled while Raven stood with his hand behind his back.
"To be honest Kira, Lana was the one who had picked out the fabric for her costume. The colors I must admit do suit her well." Mira said as she smiled, Lana nodded in agreement. "Ah I see, I was mistaken, my deepest apologies to you Lana. You and Mira are very adept with color selection and coordination." Kira stated with a bow of her head and a slight curtsy. Lana began to blush and Mira giggled lightly. Miss. Kira then stood and with one hand motioned the three to head inside the large ball room. As they entered she followed slipping past them to greet other guests. Raven held out his arm to Mira ass he took it walking into the crowd, Lana staying close to Mira's side till she realized that Raven was leading Mira to the center of the dance floor.
The classical music was loud but also sounded much like background as it filled the large ball room. When the song that had been playing ended as Raven and Mira made their way to the dance floor, the band began another this one a bit softer and much slower. Mira smiled as the sound of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata sounded over the crowd. As Raven took Mira's right hand and placed her left hand on his shoulder, he took his free hand and placed it on her lower back, Mira looked at him a blush forming over her face as she spoke. "This is one of my favorite pieces by Beethoven." Raven looked a bit shocked when he heard her say the words then he smiled and replied. "Really, well it is one of my favorites as well."
Mira's cheeks grew hot with a blush and Raven gave a slight soft laugh as they danced. Lana had joined in the dancing with a tall slender gentleman who stood much taller than her five foot nine inches. His hair was short and a deep red much like Mira's, his skin was dark and a tattoo showed just above the neck line of the antique looking suite. The tattoo was of a tribal design and seemed to wrap around his neck. His mossy-green eyes stared deeply into her bright blue hues and for a moment it seemed as if Lana had completely forgotten about the man she called her lover back in the small town of Logan where she lived with him. Lana had been laughing, giggling and talking to the tall slender stranger as they danced and twirled around the other dancing couples.
A smile graced Mira's face seeing her best friend happy for once since moving in with the "lover" Lana had now lived with for three years. Raven smiled unaware of how true his words really were. "She looks like she's in love. Her eyes show it well." This brought Mira's gaze back to him and she nodded. "She may very well be, her fiancé has caused her nothing but unhappiness since she had moved in with him three years ago. It's good to see her happy though I hope that if things go further with the tall dark stranger that she at the very least brakes off the engagement with Don." Raven quirked an eyebrow at her then nodded in agreement.
The evening continued as did the music, dancing and low hum of conversations coming from the large ball room. Raven had led Mira in to the rather extravagant garden that had been featured in many gardening books, as well as being Miss. Kira's pride and joy. The sky was clear as the nearly full moon shined down upon the grounds giving a silver glimmer to the many plants and single fountain. Mira was infatuated with the sights of the seemingly glowing garden around herself and Raven. Raven had allowed Mira to wander a bit further ahead of him to admire the moon-lit glow of the garden. That was when he noticed the two "scars" placed evenly and slightly angled just under her shoulder blades. His head tilted slightly wondering what they were and why they were so perfectly even. Turning back Mira caught the look on Ravens face and spoke in a soft voice feeling safe telling him of the story behind her "scars".
"I see you noticed the markings on my back." She started. "They are where my wings reside." Raven lifted an eyebrow in a somewhat understanding look and nodded allowing her to continue. "I am one of the last children of the night skies. In truth my family are the last of our kind. We live in fear of others who wish to strip our wings from our bodies and use the feathers for many things, thus leaving us flightless and unable to watch over the night." She said and let out a soft sigh. "I have only told very few of this. You Raven Phoenix are the fourth to have ever learned of why I keep my wings hidden." Her voice was that of an ancient one, a tone she rarely used. "I ask that you keep my secret till the day you leave this earth." She ended stepping towards him. In a knowing gesture Raven knelt down on one knee and placed his hand over his heart lowering his head. "You have my word Mira child of the night skies that I Raven James Phoenix will keep your secret till the day I leave this land we all call our mother." He ended and looked up to her emerald green eyes. Mira nodded then and stood still, looking to the skies she crossed her arms in an "x" over her chest. As she moved her arms to outstretch a set of wings reviled themselves stretching out two feet past her fingertips, their color was a dull gray that faded to white. Raven looked at her in awe his blue-gray eyes taking in the full beauty that stood before him. Mira relaxed as she flapped her wings a bit allowing them to stretch.
Mira's emerald green eyes caught Raven's gaze and a small smile came to her face. Raven stood then and stepped towards her. Keeping her gaze locked with his she spoke once more. "I'm not really sure why I feel so able to show you my wings but it felt right, more right then sharing this with Lana or Miss. Kira…" She said trailing off as a thought crossed her mind while her heart began to race slightly at how close Raven had become. Silence was held between them, no words had been spoken for seemed like hours but really was only a few minutes. Nothing had to be said, and this, Mira knew, was the change that the cards had reviled to her. And somehow she could see it in Raven's eyes that he had been true with his words, and his eyes also conveyed the growing desire he was feeling to belong to her.
The silence between them was broken when Lana stepped out the side French doors of the ball room that lead to the garden. Mira looked past Raven and he turned around. Lana happened to look over and scrambled over. "Mira?! What are you thinking? Showing off in a crowded place?" Lana's voice was full of fear with a hint of anger at Mira's choice of place to show Raven her wings.
"There's no one out here besides us." Mira said trying to calm Lana's worry, and it worked. "Well I still don't think this is the best place to do that…" Lana said softly as Mira's wings slowly returned back to form the "scars". Before they fully vanished she pulled a small feather from the top of her right wing and handed it to Raven.
"Oh Raven, you're so lucky! Mira has never given a feather to me." Lana said in awe as Mira smiled. "Miss. Kira has never received one either." She mentioned as Raven took the feather from her hand. Looking to Raven Mira smiled a bit more. "As the first and only one to have ever received a feather from me I give this to you with my heart if you are willing to accept it." Mira said softly as her cheeks grew much redder with blush then they had any other time around him. Raven sunk back to one knee and looked up at her taking her left hand. "Mira with this I accept it as my promise to keep this great secret, and with it I accept your heart if you will accept mine in return." Lana just stood there watching her best friend ask for Raven to accept the love that was growing for him. He did, as did she, then standing Raven placed a hand lightly on Mira's cheek and leaned in placing a soft kiss on her lips.
Time seemed to stop as the garden as well as Lana seemed to fade leaving only Mira and Raven in a lip locked embrace. Feeling a blush come to her own face Lana silently backed away leaving Mira and Raven in their embrace, Miss. Kira had wandered over and grinned. "It seemed the cards were right, a great change has come to you Mira." This broke the fading land and time between the two as well as Lana. Each turning their heads and looked towards Miss. Kira. A blush broke out on the both Mira and Raven's face in which made Miss. Kira smile more. "There is nothing to be embarrassed about you two. The cards told me that a great change was coming into Mira's life and here you both stand, hand in hand. A great change in deed has happened here this evening, and I foresee a bright future for you both and that you both may live a long and happy life together." She finished keeping a smile as she motioned for the little group that had gathered in the garden to return inside.
Once back inside the music was still playing and people were still dancing and chatting. Miss. Kira led Mira, Raven, and Lana to a round table with a wrap around bench. The table cloth was a red color with the seat cushion being the same color. There was also a canopy above the table and booth that seemed to cloak the little area in a shadow. Within the canopy was a light with a dark lampshade, Miss. Kira moved towards the table and offered for the three to join her. Sitting down Lana sat on one side of Raven, Mira was on the other and Miss. Kira was sitting on the other side of Mira. A waiter came over and offered them some champagne, Miss. Kira nodded and the waiter began placing a glass before each of them. When the waiter left Miss. Kira turned her attention to both Raven and Mira. "I had a feeling that if I introduced you both to each-other that Mira's life would be filled with one who is caring kind and loving, as well as strong, knowing your background Mira, I felt that Raven could be all of those things, protecting you from whatever may come in your future if dangerous." Both were still intently listening to Miss. Kira when Raven had taken Mira's hand and squeezed it gently as if telling her without words that he would be there for her no matter what. A smile came to Mira's face as she leaned against him. Lana also listened intently almost in a dream like state when she spoke. "It's so romantic, I wish that would happen to me…" She said softly. Miss. Kira looked over to her and gave a soft smile.
"Lana dear, I foresee a change in your future as well. Your life with your current lover is in a tough spot, but I see that you will find a new life soon enough." Miss. Kira's words were like a guiding light when they reached Lana. Excusing herself from the table she headed out onto the balcony and pulled a small cell phone from the hidden pocket and opened it up making a phone call. Back inside the three still sat sipping at their drinks and enjoying the music and conversations. Mira looked between both Raven and Miss Kira and let out a soft sigh. "In truth, Lana has been talking about leaving Don for several months now. I think that this new information you have given Kira is what she needed to push herself to make a change."
"Another great change is occurring this night it seems." Miss. Kira said and smiled at the two of them.
When Lana came back to the little group she looked like she was irritated and had just been screaming. Sitting herself down with a "huff" She looked at the three of them and then sighed. "Don and I are no longer together. Though it really is a good feeling I don't know why I'm now feeling so drained." Raven put his free hand on her shoulder in a comforting way. "You will be alright, and we are here for you and will support you." His voice was soft and almost like velvet. Lana smiled and nodded as both Miss. Kira and Mira gave agreeing smiles. Then placing her arms on the table she leaned a bit closer to Raven, Raven sat back allowing Lana to lean a bit closer to Mira.
"Mira I do have a favor to ask you." Lana paused as Mira nodded in a listening tone and then she continued. "I will need a place to stay for a while… I'm going to have my things shipped up here, it's just till I can find a place of my own."
Mira smiled brightly and nodded once more. "Of course, after all what are best friends for?" Her question was more hypothetical then one to be answered but Lana let out a small laugh and nodded. "Too true."
Giggling Mira leaned into Raven's side and smiled more with a blush. Miss. Kira smiled as well and Raven placed a soft kiss on the top of Mira's head. Just then Miss. Kira got up from the table and made her way over to the small stage where the band had been playing. All the lights had gone off except for a single spotlight that was now illuminating her. Everyone in the entire room had gone quiet and turned their attention to her. When she had everyone's attention Miss. Kira curtsied to everyone and smiled a kind smile. "I wish to thank you all for you attendance this night. The evening is drawing to a close and a new day must take its place." With that said Miss. Kira curtsied once more and left the spotlight as the lights returned. Applause started as the lights turned back on, Miss. Kira returned to the table for just a moment letting Mira, Raven, and Lana know that she must bid her guests a fair well but would be back. The three of them smiled and nodded as Miss. Kira turned and headed for the door everyone had entered earlier in the night.
People were filing out saying their "good-byes" and "thanks" as Miss. Kira smiled a kind smile and told some that they were welcome back anytime as well as thanking them for their support of her dream for all races to co-exist peacefully. As the last few people left Miss. Kira looked up towards the little group she had left behind at the table when she noticed the tall figure that Lana had been dancing with much earlier in the night. Mira and Raven were smiling and laughing as Lana blushed and giggled.
This is the first chapter of my story Demonic Love Enjoy!
Chapter 1:
"No don't take him from me!"
Mira sat up right in her bed, the room was dark as she sat catching her breath. Looking over at the red glow coming from the alarm clock, she pushed a few locks of hair out of her face and let out a sigh. The time one the clock read 3:00am, whipping the few tears from her eyes as she sat staring at the clock, Mira's dream was an odd one but it was also one in which she had been having for several nights now. Flipping on the light she leaned over the bed and pulled out a small black and red patterned bag. The bag was black with a red Asian dragon and a tiger, inside the bag was a deck of tarot cards ones she often used regularly when doing readings for herself and her friends. When the card signifying change came up in the future position Mira shuffled the deck again and laid out another spread, the card of change came up once more, this time in the position of immediate future.
Putting the cards back into their cloth bag and back under the bed Mira flopped back on the bed placing a hand over her eyes and let out a sigh. "So what change should I be expecting now?" She asked the silence of her room knowing she wouldn't get an answer. Sitting back up she turned to the night stand and slid out the drawer and pulled out a small note book that was labeled dream journal. Also taking out her favorite pen Mira opened to a fresh page and began writing down the events of her dream. There was something different about this dream, it had been more vivid and longer than the others she had been having the last several nights.
The dream started off like the others, Mira was in a different country walking back to where she was staying clinging to the arm of someone whose face she couldn't quite make out. This man had strong arms, broad shoulders, medium length thick dark hair and beautiful blue-gray eyes. He was wearing a red button up shirt, black jacket, black pants and boots. Both Mira and the man were talking about life, and how things were beginning to look up in her future. That was when the dream began to get intense, suddenly the two were headed down a dark ally, and Mira clung tighter to the man's arm as their path grew darker. A gun shot came out of nowhere and grazed the man's shoulder, wiping around he had Mira in a protective hold looking around the darkness the man let out a grunt. Mira couldn't see much from between her hair and bend of his arm holding her protectively against his chest. Just then as all seemed to be in slow motion the man fell to the ground and she leaned against the wall behind her for a moment. She had shouted out in panic and was beginning to beg and plead with the men who had shot the man she was with. The memory of the dream faded as she wrote it down, the memory of sitting up shouting and realizing she was in her own bed was now clearest. She rubbed her head trying to remember anything else that could have happened.
Putting the dream journal back in the drawer and turning off the light Mira laid back on the bed again and turned away from the now glowing clock shutting her eyes trying to sleep before she had to be up to meet up with a friend she hadn't seen in quite some time. Sleep found her once more and she was thankful that the nightmare did not repeat itself again. Morning came quickly, the rays of the morning sun began to peak through the curtains and slowly inch their way up the wall across the room. It was clear that Mira had been tossing and turning in her sleep as she was tangled in the sheets and blankets, the several pillows that were usually placed at the headboard of the bed were now thrown on the floor as well as all over the bed.
Reaching out from under the covers that she had somehow managed to pull up over her shoulders, Mira hit the button on the alarm clock to shut it off. She rolled onto her back and let out a yawn and brushed her crimson red hair out of her face, opening her emerald green eyes slowly sitting up. Pulling herself from the bed and placing her feet on the cool hardwood floor, Mira pushed herself off the bed to get ready for the long day ahead of her. "First things, first…" She told herself as she headed for the bathroom. "A nice long soak in the tub before heading out." Grabbing a towel from the closet she started the bath, sprinkling some cherry blossom scented bath salt to the water. Mira stood after placing the bath salts into the water and let her night gown slip off her shoulders and fall to the floor. Under her long crimson locks were a set of scars just between her shoulder blades and spine. However these weren't normal scars, these scars, were Mira's way of hiding her wings from everyday life. At a young age Mira realized that her wings had begun to get in the way of many everyday things.
When Mira did reveal her wings they extended out and down before curving up to a rounded edge. Her wings were feathered and the color was a dull gray to white as if the white color was sliding off the feathers. Very few knew she had wings and even fewer had seen them, this was due to the fact that Mira hadn't wanted anyone to force her to do what she perhaps did not wish to. Sinking into the warm water Mira began to relax a bit in to the scent of the water. Even as the dream she had was dulling in her mind Mira couldn't help but think of it over and over along with whatever message the tarot cards were trying to convey to her. Her thoughts relaxed as well as she soaked for about an hour.
Getting out of the tub Mira quickly wrapping herself in her towel and headed to her room to find a clean pair of cloths. She pulled out a long circle skirt and a nice top that was corseted, under the circle skirt Mira slipped on another skirt to give the circle skirt more fluff then just hanging down close to her legs. The top had two red dragons on either side of the clip up front and an open back. Latching up each clip of her top Mira seemed content with her outfit for the day when a knock sounded at the front door. Lana didn't wait for Mira to answer the door as she came bursting in, in a giggle fit as she often did when she visited for the short times she was able to come visit.
"Mira! I've missed you! How have you been?" Lana seemed to shout out as she clung to Mira. Mira wrapped her friend in a hug and smiled. "You look well Lana; you dyed your hair again huh?" Lana laughed and stood back then held up a few curls of hair and nodded. "Yeah, you like it?"
"It's different and much, much darker than it ever has been." Mira said then let out a small laugh "I like it."
Lana had dyed her hair from a light red to a deep blackish purple, and well Lana did look good with the new color, the color brought out her bright blue eyes as well as giving her a sort of glow to her skin. She was wearing a royal blue colored top that had ruffled cuffs and a ruffled collar along with a brown leather waist synch, her pants were black stretch pants and the cuffs tucked into a pair of brown leather boots. Both girls outfits were a usual sight and were often commented on.
After the drive to the local café Mira put her car in park and open her door. Getting out of the car Lana awed at the new café then she looked to Mira. "So this is the new café you had mentioned in the e-mails?" Mira nodded at Lana's question and smiled as she shut the driver side door of the car and began to cross the small parking lot headed for the main door of the little coffee shop, Lana followed quickly after and walked in threw the open door that Mira was holding open. The café was rather quiet inside compared to the sounds of the busy town outside. Lana picked a booth in the back and Mira sat across from her, not long after they sat down a young looking waitress came over, her red orange hair pulled back into a tight pony-tail, her light gray eyes were filled with a hint of cheer as she smiled at the two. "Welcome to Daear Café, my name is Sara; can I get you both something to drink?" She spoke in a quite happy manner yet still keeping a professional appeal. Lana looked up excited to be in the new café, speaking up first she ordered a coffee, Mira then took her turn ordering a sweetened warmed green tea. Sara nodded after writing down their order and headed towards the back kitchen.
Mira then turned towards Lana and placed her elbows on the table, laced her fingers together and placed her chin on her hands. "Lana I have an idea that I think could work for us both." She said with a slight giggle as she explained the idea more. "Well with both of us knowing how to sew and being very adept at it I had figured that we become Costume designers" Lana's eyes lit up as she listened to Mira go on and then smiled up at Sara when their drinks came. Lana took a long drink of her coffee and nearly spit it all over when Mira mentioned that she had talked to The Miss. Kira Lander. "Yeah I have become good friends with Kira and she has offered to pay me to create outfits and costumes for her and her growing fan base. I'm sure it would not be so much trouble to ask if you could help."
Lana swallowed hard and nearly jumped out of her seat with happiness and excitement with Mira's offer. "I accept, I whole heartedly accept Mira, I have always loved Miss. Kira's work in costume design, and to work for her has always been a dream of mine!" She said taking up her coffee cup and taking a few sips from it trying to control her excitement.
After a long afternoon at the café both Mira and Lana headed back to Mira's place for some well needed relaxation, Mira had picked up several movies for their movie night. Every time Lana came to visit, her first night was always spent watching movies and telling Mira of the long trip and the people she had met on the way. Lana also began to tell Mira of the new love in her life, she was excited and showed off a picture of the man whom captured her heart. Mira smiled listening wondering when love would capture her heart and show her the joys that being in love could bring. Yet little did Mira know this was Miss. Kira's original plan for asking her to work.
The next day Mira called up Miss. Kira and asked if they could meet at Daear Café to speak of the offer of jobs. Kira agreed to meet them; she also mentioned bringing a guest. Mira agreed to the idea of a guest. "It really would be an honor if you brought a guest." She said in a cheerful voice. The sound of a smile came from the other end as Kira gave a time to meet over at the café and hug up the phone. Placing the phone on the receiver and stepping out of the computer room Mira walked over to the still sleeping Lana, nudging her awake. "No mama I don't want to go to school today…." She spoke in her sleep as the sound of snores started back up. "No Lana get up! We have to get ready; Kira has agreed to meet with me about asking you to join me in working for her." With that said Lana sat up in shock at what Mira said. "Well, why didn't you say so? I would have gotten up earlier." Mira shook her head with a sigh as Lana got up and dashed around trying to find something in her things to wear that she felt would be appropriate for her to meet Kira in. "I only just got off the phone with her. We have about three hours before we have to go meet her at Daear Café. So you can slow down a little bit." She said as she headed into her room to gather a set of cloths she only wore on special occasions. Mira's outfit consisted of a somewhat peasant looking top with ruffles on the sleeves which was a royal blue, a dark blue waist synch with a black lace overlay, and a long royal blue circle skirt with two peaty coats underneath. Lana's outfit was similar with only the color's making it different, her top was a deep forest green, the waist synch was a light green lace over a dark green base, and the skirt the same color as the top. Both girls pulled their hair back, Mira braiding only half her hair and Lana braiding all of hers.
Both girls arrived a few minutes early and sat at an outdoor table as they waited for Miss. Kira and her guest to arrive. Not long after the girls got to the café Kira arrived with her guest. He was tall and was wearing an outfit that Mira had created, the black colored pirate like over coat was made longer due to his height, the undershirt had a single ruffle around the collar as well as on the sleeves, its red color had dulled showing a hint of wear. The pants were long and black wide leg with a single thin red strip going up the sides of the pants. Miss. Kira was wearing a more Victorian outfit, the shirt was a very pale purple with an amethyst necklace, the skirt was an emerald green with a matching coat that had dark royal purple buttons on the cuffs and up the front, her brown hair was pulled back into a braided bun with a jeweled hair clip and pearl earrings.
As Miss. Kira walked up the man she had with her pulled out one of the chairs for her, waited for her to sit and helped push the chair closer to the table before taking his own seat. "Good afternoon ladies, and good to see you again Mira." She said in a soft voice that also sounded very professional. Mira smiled and gave a slight nod as did Lana. Kira lifted up her hand and motioned towards the man sitting beside her. "Ladies I would like you both to meet Raven James Phoenix. He is a very good friend of mine and often sports many of the male outfits that I and those I work with create." Raven bowed his head, his eyes catching Mira's for a moment before looking to Lana. "Raven this is Mira Ann Lester, another of my good friends and the one whom designed the outfit you happen to be wearing now, and her friend Lana Marie Weston." She said this time motioning towards both Mira and Lana. Mira's cheeks turned a slight pink as she nodded her head towards Raven, Lana gave a bright smile to both Raven and Miss. Kira. Soon enough the conversation turned to Mira asking if Lana could join in the costume creating, Miss. Kira agreed making Lana quite ecstatic and very thankful.
When the accepting and thanking was over Mira walked with Raven and Miss. Kira back to the horse drawn carriage that she had arrived in. "I can't thank you enough for allowing Lana to work for you, I know she is just as grateful as I am. And Raven it was a pleasure to have met you, perhaps we may meet again." Mira said with a kind smile then bowed to them. "You both are quite welcome, as for meeting Raven again I am sure you both may be seeing quite a lot of each other." Miss. Kira said returning Mira's smile, Raven gave a slight nod and a smile that seemed to capture Mira's heart making it race and her cheeks filled with color. When Mira got back to the table where Lana was still sitting her cheeks were still filled with color. Lana was all giggles as she watched her friend walk back to the table. "I think cupid just struck you with his love arrow. Truth be told it looked like he got both of you in one shot." She laughed as Mira took her seat. "It's really that obvious huh?" Lana just nodded and sipped at her coffee before starting in on the salad she had ordered just before Miss. Kira and Raven had to leave. Sitting back down Mira looked to her BLT sandwich then back at Lana. "He is really cute, and that outfit I made suits him quite well don't you think?" Lana nodded once more and smiled.
The evening was spent ordering take out and pulling out sewing machines as well as needles and materials. Mira pulled out two folding tables and set them up across the living room and placed a sewing machine on one and her pattern box on the other with a pin cushion filled with pins of every size. Lana helped by grabbing two of the dining room chairs and placed them at each table. "Now Miss. Kira is going to be having a costume ball before the end of the week, the theme is going to be Gothic Vampires and Demons. I have been asked to make two sets of matching costumes. One set for Miss. Kira and her husband and the other for myself and Raven as we found out earlier will be my date." Lana listened to Mira then looked to all the fabric and patterns laid out on the table without the sewing machine. "And me? Did Miss. Kira say anything about me when she called you earlier?" Mira nodded and smiled. "Yes she did, and your dress will be similar to mine." She said holding up the picture of the outfit.
As the week progressed Mira and Lana had four outfits tried on adjusted and finished and had begun to work on the last outfit. Raven had come by to help, starting with helping Lana pin the pattern to the cloth that her outfit would be made of. Once they had finished pinning each piece of the pattern to the cloth, Raven and Lana started cutting from opposite ends precisely cutting out each piece. Mira sat at the sewing machine and began taking each piece to sew together as instructed by the instructions of the pattern. When Mira's eyes had gotten tired Lana took over and within eight hours they had the last of the outfits sewn together, all that was left was to have Lana try it on, as Lana tried it on allowing Mira to do minor adjustments and bring up the hem of the skirt.
Having finished the outfits for the costume ball Mira had asked Raven to stay for dinner. "It's to thank you for all your help." Raven had been sitting on the couch and ran a hand through his long black hair. "It was nothing really. You have made so many outfits for me that I love wearing so helping you was an honor." With that having been said Mira's cheeks grew a bright shade of pink. Lana giggled and walked into the kitchen before Mira, opening the refrigerator Lana began pulling out different things, potato's, a pound of ground beef, and the half block of tofu. As if knowing what Lana was grabbing, Mira headed for the cabinets and pulled out angel hair spaghetti, then moved to the lower cabinets to pull out the large pot and a frying pan. Getting everything set in the kitchen both Mira and Lana began to make Mira's home-made beef Ramen meal. Raven got up off the couch and peaked around the corner into the kitchen to see what the girls were up to. "Is there anything I could do to help? I would feel bad leaving this all to the two of you." Both girls looked up and answered. "Sure."
"You can help me chop up these potato's." Lana said as she pulled out another cutting board and sharp knife. Raven nodded while walking over to stand seemingly in between the two girls chopping up potato's and hanging them to Mira who placed them into boiling water. Next came the boiling of the spaghetti and the cooking of the beef. Half way threw boiling the potato's Mira took them from the pot they had been cooking in and put them in to the other pot to finish cooking with the spaghetti, Lana had gone to put the sewing machine away as well as the folding tables and the finished costumes leaving Raven and Mira to finish preparing their dinner. Soon Mira had placed three bowls of her home-made Ramen on the dining room table, Lana came back in with the third chair and placed it down then sat at the table. Raven sat down in one of the other open chairs. Mira had also made a pot of green tea which she poured into the three glasses that she had Raven place at the table. Dinner was eaten quietly with the few complements that Raven made as he ate, Lana agreeing with each comment and this left Mira turning a bright pink.
After the clean up from dinner both girls headed to bed after seeing Raven off. The weeks sewing project leaving them exhausted. Four hours after having fallen asleep Mira sat up in bed again in a cold sweat, looking around the dark room all she could hear was the slight snores coming from the couch in the living room of a sleeping Lana. The dream that had left her earlier in the week now came back and felt more vivid then it had just before Lana came to visit. In the dream Mira was able to make out vauge details of the face of the man who now laid on the ground before her before the other men in black reached for him. The long dark hair, gray-blue eyes, and the soft features of a slender face, it had become clear to her then that the man who she had been arm-in-arm with was that of Raven. Running a hand threw her hair Mira began trying to make sense of it all with little luck. Turning on the light Mira reached over the edge of the bed and pulled out her tarot cards and placed them on the bed. From her personal reading she interpreted that the change in her immediate future was Raven coming into her life as a friend, and that something was going to happen in the near future. She thought a moment then put the cards back into their bag and back under the bed, turned out the light and laid back down falling asleep. "This…" She thought while falling asleep. "Is going to be something I would greatly like to figure out how things will turn out."
