It's Been A While

Well for those of you who do stop by to read my journal - hello! :-D I'd realized today that it's been quite some time since I've written in here. Needless to say, it's been a pretty busy month with getting use to my new job and my weekends are starting to become busy as well; between hanging out with my best friend and helping her plan her wedding and spending time with my hubby, I don't get much downtime on Saturdays and Sundays. It's all good, though! I'm busy with the people that I love - and that's definitely something I am totally content with. :)

Some highlights from this month:

1) On Tuesday, May 17th, Todd and I celebrated our two year wedding anniversary. TWO YEARS! I can't believe how fast the time has gone. And to think: as of this August, we'll have known each other for eight years. Holy shit! That's half as long as I've known my best friend and some other people from high school that I still talk to. I seriously could not have asked for a better partner to enjoy all of life's adventures with.

We technically celebrated our special day on Saturday the 13th, because I had to work on the 17th. Boo! We had a fun evening out though. We started things off by getting coffee at Dunkin Donuts, then went to an early-ish dinner at Bonefish Grill. We shared an appetizer of Bang Bang Shrimp (OMG THAT STUFF IS TO DIE FOR!), and my meal was a 6 oz filet mignon with au gratin potatoes and garlic mashed potatoes. Todd somehow ordered the same sides (NOT planned lol) and he had a soft-shell crab cake. The food was absolutely delicious! It was an $80 meal though with our alcoholic beverages included, which is why we only do meals like that for special occasions. :-p Afterwards we went to the movies - although I've forgotten what we saw! Silly me...Either way. It was a very fun evening and I'm so glad we were able to enjoy each other's company. :)

2) I celebrated my one-month anniversary at my new job this past Friday(the 27th)! I really do like my job. My supervisors and co-workers have all been very helpful, and everyone is respectable to one another.

That's pretty much it; other than that, I've just been hanging out at home during the week after work, trying to level up my JadedCrystal account (I'm only 12 levels away from opening my own Mentorship! yay!) and finish some books I've been reading on/off since October. I HAVE finished Stephen King's "The Gunslinger" - finally. Dude! The ending was NOT what I was expecting at all. Not to mention, the story totally did not truly start until Roland met with The Gunslinger - in my opinion. Everything with Jake *could* have been cut from the manuscript; but then we wouldn't have gotten to know Roland's backstory. I honestly think this is one of my Top 10 favorite books now; it was just so cleverly written!

Alrighty. I think I've babbled on enough. :-p I'm going to go catch up on some Mentorship business then buzz over to the Coven. Have a great Memorial Day holiday everyone! Just remember to at least stop for a moment to thank our veterans for the freedoms that we have today.
