I'm seriously suffering whiplash trying to keep up with this year as it has ticked by. It's not so much as days that have passed as much as the events in my life seem to have run together in an endless mix of seemingly random paint colors poured onto a canvas. That sums it up, not just this year but all of last year too. Life is like that, one event, one moment blended into the next until you can't tell where one color ends and another begins.

I have mandatory parental training video to do tonight. I've taken on the task of homeschooling my daughter. I had to pull her out last month due to chronic migraines and various illness, mainly the flu and classic cold hit the house as soon as the school year began. Though the last couple of years have been a blur of seemingly endless travesties, I actually feel good and truly positive for the coming days, weeks, months, years.

I'm not sure, perhaps it's the release of having to keep up "Christian" appearances in a highly conservative bible belt, my daughter no longer involved in the private school she has attended since we first moved here. Her stress level is much better but so is mine. My son is still having health issues himself also, but since seeing a new neurologist, both kids are getting the evaluations, tests and treatments they need.

My partner is doing well again also. New job, new salary, more home time and weekends. We're actually talking about getting married, something I was dead set against. After a 20 year stint of being married to an abusive and manipulative spouse, I've been burned on the whole I DO thing. So burned that we're not talking about a wedding as much as we are a hand fasting. It certainly fits our personal beliefs and the comfort zone. For once though, I actually don't mind talking about it. Things are changing. I reckon they're changing for the better.
