the wonderful world of MEPS

Ok, so lemme give yall a run down of thurs and today...thurs started out fine and dandy met my recruiter at his office @ 1430hrs and from there proceeded to MEPS (military entrance processing station) where i would take my ASVAB (armed services vocational aptitude battery) around 1545hrs we finally begin taking the ASVAB an hr or so later i finish my test and proceed to the main control desk after receiving my score. I called my recruiter and told him that i had passed the AFQT (Armed Forces qualifying test) score with a 46...in which the Air Force requires a 36 to qualify. I then waited on for everyone else to get done so we all could take the shuttle to the Clarion hotel downtown. We reached the hotel and checked in round 1900hrs and had a complimentary dinner. I finally went to bed round 0030hrs and received and bright and early wake up call at 0400hrs. enjoyed a complimentary breakfast and was off back to MEPS at 0455hrs. Once arriving at MEPS again we proceeded with check in and a medical briefing. After the medical briefing thus began the numerous tests. Finally at round 1230hrs i had completed my physical and was off to job counseling. Turns out i was disqualified because of my eye examination but am working on getting a waiver for that via the surgeon general, so the waiting period is up to 1 1/2 to 2 mo.

Im not worried bout whether or not ill receive a waiver so its all good, majority of ppl that decide to try for a waiver, if need be, get it. If the Air Force is that worried the the refraction of my eyes is a bit higher than what they like then they can give me a waiver and just get me Lasik eye surgery since its free for both parties. So heres to hoping that all goes well. If not it only disqualifies me from joining the Air Force...not any of the other branches. 'When' i get a waiver, yes i said when cause im bound and determined to get one, i will be on DEP (delayed enlistment program) for roughly 3-4 mo. so figuring april for basic training...well wish me luck cause im hell bent on getting in :-D
