My summer get away!

Over summer I traveled a bit. My first adventure was South Carolina, I camped at Myrtle Beach State Park. I stayed five days with my amazingly fun aunt and cousins. I went swimming, walking on the beach at night to the pier where I got to experience holding a baby shark and watching the jelly fish float with the waves. It was beautiful at night, the wind blowing, heat lightning, the sound of the waves against the shore, looking out and seeing nothing but water as far as I could see and people fishing. We had cook outs next to the beach, the food was awesome, one night we had shrimp, another night we had steak and something about being on the beach made the food taste so much better.

My next adventure was Savannah Georgia, where I stayed with my Aunt Pearl for three days. I went to Fort Stewart Military Base (my uncle used to be placed there but he passed a couple years ago) where I watched Ashanti and Trace Adkins in concert and following was fireworks. My aunt has a dock from her back yard to the 'marsh' I got to fish and I caught two stingrays and one blue tailed crab, I also got to see two dolphins at high tide. Aunt Pearl makes the best homemade dessert in the whole wide world, I don't know which was better the apple pies or the blackberry frozen dessert. Makes me want to go back and eat.

My last adventure was Louisville Kentucky, I stayed with my cousin who is in her second year of dental school for three whole weeks. It's hard to remember what all we did but the things that stand out the most were: the new Ice Age movie in 3-D, going to the Science Museum, Eating on the river at tumbleweed, going to the mall, and hanging out with her friends. She lives in a little apartment and one night she called three of her friends over for dinner and a few more found out she was cooking and asked if they could come and of course we said yes, so when all was said and done we had 12 people in her little apartment over to eat. We made a HUGE pot of homemade chicken and dumplings, homemade coleslaw, a salad with vegetables from our garden here at home, and fresh green beans we had picked a few days before I went up there. Most of them were born and raised in the city so they are not used to the way us 'country girls' cook. They love it every time the class finds out she's cooking they always want to go over and eat.

My last small adventure was Indiana/Michigan, where I stayed for one night to help my cousin's mom move, I loaded a twenty-eight foot truck in just one day and drove back slept, and unloaded it the next day.
