In the Niga Delta is being destroyed by large oil companies who are allowing their oil to leak out into the countryside and waterways due to rusting pipelines and defective valves and connections.
The land and waterways that the people of the Niger Delta depend on for food and income are now in such bad shape that the fish are inedible or wiped out completely. The Soil tainted to the point that it can no longer be farmed.
The people are suffering illness and malnutrition due to these atrocities and the oil companies are refusing to compensate.
When legal means to force the Oil companies like Shell, Chevron and others to be held accountable for their actions were exhausted. The youths of the Nigerian Delta began to fight back forcing the oil companies to shut down some of their operations, but most are under the protection of the Nigerian military thanks to corrupt government officials that have been paid off by the oil companies.
Would you allow this to happen in your country?
Do you think , "Well that's in Nigeria so it don't effect me." That is where you would be wrong. What does it take before people stand up and say NO MORE? This planet belongs to all of us and this will be flowing into your towns and homes before you know it. What will you say then?
This is the kind of thing The Oil companies don't want you to know about and as they are invested in the media providers such as ABC BBC ABC and many others do you honestly think they are going to tell you the whole truth? Open your eyes. Read all you can online and see for yourself what is truly going on before it is too late!
This is a great Video showing how shell is saying one thing and not doing what they promise. They will use any excuse to continue to waste natural resources while polluting the land. Why do they do this? They do this because they want to save money. My opinion is that they are going to try to pump the land dry before they actually have do anything that will cost them money. When this happens they will leave and possibly never clean up their toxic mess.
