They're blue, da-ba-dee-baa-ba-doo-daa-baa-dee-baa!

First of all; The views and opinions expressed in this entry are my own... And for that, I sympathize... alot...

So, as I'm sure the entire world now knows, Avatar is currently playing pretty much everywhere.

Note that I have yet to see it and in all honesty, I'm a little skeptical about doing so. The very very few people who I trust in their taste in movies haven't actually seen it either.

I hear alot of "It's amazing!" "OMG! I loved it!" etc: and so on; but people are idiots, that's about the fuck of it.

The only thing really pulling me in to see this is the fact is directed by James Cameron.

I mean, this man alone cemented some brilliant movies that raised me as a child! The countless hours I would spend completely indulged in Terminator 2, The Abyss, Aliens! I mean, he's a legend. But we won't mention Titanic... I don't know what he was thinking then. Must have been a slow year.

I guess I'm going to have to bite the bullet tho and see it.

But I have a feeling I might be right.

The sense that the entire movie is just an over publicized CGI cluster-fuck.

I'm sure once I have, I'll no doubt post a follow-up entry here. Remains to be seen if it's going to be a hate-fueled rant.

That's me done. You can fuck off now.

I don't know if my opinion counts.

But I saw it last night and enjoyed it very much.

It is a great movie and the CGI is well done.

There are a few complaints I had, but I enjoyed it.

I think we may go see it in the next couple of days. NightBlossom has really been wanting to see it, and I've been hearing enough good things to start getting curious.

Go see it. Just make sure it's in Real3D. Even with a completely horrible plot, it would have been worth it. Probably the best CGI and SFX I've seen in a movie, and the Real3D is amazing.

That aside, even without all the eye candy it still would have been a pretty decent movie. The plot was fairly simple and predictable, but still well done. The CGI and 3D were the showcase, but the story was good enough to hold it together and keep it from getting boring. I actually think that a more complex plot would have made you stretch your attention too far and detracted from the movie as a whole.

We almost never pay normal theater prices to see a movie, we always wait until they hit the $2 theater a month or two after they come out, but this one was worth it to see with a DLP projector and Real3D.
