It doesn't matter who you pull from the fire.
Everyone. Every single one of them, are content to let the flames consume you. As long as they're safe, it doesn't matter if you burn.
I love the night air. It's so fresh and crisp this time of year. It's mostly free of the vehicle pollution smell that is suffocating in the daytime.
The hours between midnight and four are the best. The smell of just plants, earth, and occasionally something else. Tonight's accompanying scent is a fire pit about a block away. At least these neighbors have the decency to burn mesquite and not lumber or trash.
One of life's simple pleasures. If my neighborhood wasn't sketchy as fuck I'd love to sleep with my windows open. That's definitely not happening though.
There are some people who have thousands of dollars of decorations for just one holiday.
And there's also people who sleep on sidewalks or on bus benches. People who have to pick their meals out of trash cans. Eating what others have discarded to survive.
After spending years of away from here it's super confusing when people have added you and you have no clue who they are.
It feel like humanity is edging our existence towards it's finale.
I wish I could say I care, but humans make me sick. My biggest concern is that we'll likely take everything with us.
For sentient beings we sure are just a bunch of fucking parasites.
That's probably the biggest problem. Everyone thinks they're smart, when in reality they're selfish and greedy.
Consequences be damned as long as you're happy right?
There's a weird combination in the world right now of apathy, and caring too much about the wrong things. Everyone is ready to start a fight about anything except what should be fought for. Fighting for all of the wrong reasons.
Attention seeking chaosmongers. Fuck them all. Let it burn. There's not enough deserving people left around here anyway.
I don't know if people just don't understand how exhausting they've become, or if people are just so self-centered that they don't care.
