Scrying by Water Spell

08:12 Feb 09 2010
Times Read: 810

All too often, we dismiss things that are harmless but different as “weird.” Yet weird ideas, and harmless weird people, are intrinsic to the progress of our lives, and nowhere-near-the-box thinking is the only way some of the serious issues we face will be resolved. Use this spell to teach yourself to appreciate the creativity of others. Take a paper grocery bag and cut out the wide sides. Cut eyeholes in each sheet of paper, and take a pen or markers and create a mask. Make each mask resemble the person or type of person you want to understand better. When you have some time alone, look through the mask, imagining the world from that person’s perspective, from behind that person’s eyes. Imagine you are that person, and explore that. How do you feel? What has changed? Look at yourself in a mirror through the mask—how do you look to yourself? The old-timers of Appalachia believed May was the most potent time to scry with water to see future events. Seekers would scry into wells, ponds, or glasses of water to find the answers to their questions. To do this, sit or stand comfortably before your choice of water. Imagine being surrounded by a protective circle of white light. Focus on your question and gaze at the water. Soon the water will mist over and seem to swirl. As the mist clears, the vision will come. Symbols, animal shapes, numbers, or complete scenes will appear. Keep your gazing sessions short. To enhance your experience, you may place a silver coin in the water to serve as a focal point. When done, release your circle of protective light and thank the divine power.

A Blessing of a Lifetime

08:06 Feb 09 2010
Times Read: 812

The planet Saturn rules Binah on the Kabbalah Tree of Life. This sephiroth is perceived as black in color, which has many other associations with the planet. Saturn also rules Capricorn, the sign the Moon is in today. This is a great day to work magic concerned with life’s greater picture. This spell is actually a meditation. This evening, sit yourself in candlelit darkness, within a fully cast circle if you prefer. You may wish to perform this meditation in the bath because water is highly spiritual. When you are comfortable, call upon your own spiritual guides and guardians. If you don’t have a personal relationship with them, simply ask that they be present, knowing that they exist regardless of your specific awareness of them. Take a very long time to mentally review your past, present, and future—in this incarnation only. Beginning by thinking the number 0, envision yourself in your mother’s womb. Continue slowly, counting up in years, remembering or discovering anything about these years of your life that comes through. Continue to the present moment and project into the future, enjoying any future visions you receive. As you envision or perceive experiences in your life, surround them in your mind with a white, healing, and accepting light, sending a vibration of peace through your past, present, and future...

May Your Wishes Come True

08:02 Feb 09 2010
Times Read: 813

Known for gusty winds, March is the perfect time to use the powers of air. In this season of new beginnings, what do you wish to manifest? Once you’re clear about what you are wishing for, take a bottle of soap bubbles outdoors. Blowing bubbles brings out the child in all of us. Our inner child sees wonder and possibility. It’s only in adulthood that we grow skeptical. As you blow bubbles, open yourself to the belief that your wish can and will come true. Ask the element of air to empower your wish. When you go back indoors, use the creative channel you’ve opened for yourself during this spell to brainstorm ways to achieve your wish. As with all spells, you need to do the work on the physical plane in order to manifest your wish.

Gypsy Healing Spell

07:52 Feb 09 2010
Times Read: 814

February 26 is Pentagram Night. The Babylonians, the Egyptians, and the ancient Greeks worshipped the pentacle as the womb of the Mother goddess. The Greek meaning for pentacle was “life” or “health,” a symbol sacred to Hygeia, goddess of healing. The gypsies use the figure of the pentacle in this healing spell called “measuring the pentacle.” With your patient lying spread-eagled on his back, use a long piece of string to trace a length from his chin to his right foot. Cut the string. By cutting the string you’re severing the illness from his body. Run the string from his right foot to his left hand and cut. From his left hand to his right hand, measure the string and cut. Run the string from his right hand to his left foot and cut. Run the final length of string from his left foot back to his chin and cut. Burn the string in your cauldron.
