Another empty night the stars drifting above. a man sceams for someone to share it with but hears nothing but echos. The man hears the lonelyness demanding to be soothed by the comfort of another. Pehaps there was a response but the sadness has made him blind and deaf to its whisper.



On a normal night spending a night under the stars would be soothing enough. The gentle summer breeze, the countless stars to get lost among. Tonight is not a Normal night. tonight he takes a walk to the outskirts of town and looks for something, anything to take his mind and attention away from what has been. Down the road a way he sees a sign for a pub and decides to have a snack and maybe even a pint or two.





He walks toward the door, he has been here before but the people here are strange and new to him. he takes a seat at a booth and has a pint

and a small meal. he notices at this time the crowd has become somewhat thicker and more rowdy. this is the time to leave he thinks to himself. As he gets up and heads to the door he happens to see a lovely young girl who smiles at him, but he pay it no mind and heads out the door.





Outside the air has gotten much colder than it had been. thunder rumbles slowly across the sky as he heads back toward home. A short time later he finds several people. they are gathered around the tree where he normaly would lay and watch the stars. as he approaches one of them walks to him and says



"we have been waiting for you"



she is the same girl that he saw at the pub and is a bit confused as he didnt see her pass him. he looks at her and says



"why - no how did you get here?"



A very befuddled look crosses his face then she responds



"none of that matters, all that matters is what happens now."



he asks even more confused and some what scared,

"whats happening now? whats going on?"



the next few moments for him are a blur of ruffling cloth and passing patches of starlight.

the next coherent thing he realizes is that he is on the ground and unable to move. there is a growing puddle of something thick and wet under him. He struggles to his feet to find that there are two dead bodies beside him and he is bleeding all over the place. from behind him he hears the girl say



"you dont have to die now just ask and I can save you"



The man drops to his knees as he is being shot through with pain looks to the stars and says



"yes I think i should "



with that she leans over him. there is a sharp pain that he barely notices coming from his shoulder. just as he is passing out he can make out her final words



"tomarrow you will hide from the light."
