So i was always a little skeptical of rooting my android phone (I started with a Moto Droid and moved onto the Droid Bionic the night it was released) and was always under the assumption that rooting it would void my VZW warranty.
Turns out that Rooting the phone does not void the warranty, but copying a custom ROM over the stock ROM does. Easy solution I use Bionic SafeStrap and create a dual partition on my phone. Bam stock ROMis left alone but rooted and I have a partition I can install whatever the fuck i want on.
Been a fucking blast. I rooted almost 2 months ago and have been flashing custom ROMs nightly since. Im loving the pre-release builds of ICS and am looking forward to the offical release of it. But im telling you Im gonna tweak the fuck outta the thing on my 2nd partition lol.
No more am I gonna be one of the sheep happy with my phone as is when I can change the entire ROM to be themed and not just my Launcher!
