Music is pretty much my life. I am currently in three musical groups at the local college. Chamber Choir, Jazz Choir, and Orchestra. All three groups are relatively small, but always enjoyable. Everyone there seems to have a good sense of humor. Or at least, they laugh at whatever joke is told.
Its a bit of a challenge to just pick up my viola and play after not being in an orchestra for four years. The group isnt much, but we all seem to catch onto the music pretty quickly, even those that haven't played in more than 4 years.
Though I don't really know how to play all these instruments... I have a violin, a viola, a flute, a clarinet, and a recorder. I'll learn to play them all one day... but for now, I'm just focused on regaining lost speed on the viola.
In addition to the three groups, I am also taking private voice lessons. Its good to sit with an instructor alone once in awhile and work out little issues with the music, or just work on ... tonality I think the word would be.
Along with those classes, I am also taking a ballroom dance class. I'll be dissapointed in two weeks when its over, but I could always sign up for the next class. If I still have money left to pay for it that is. The other classes I'm taking through the college are boring academic classes... Math 111, Geology 201, and Writing 121.
While I like to write creatively, I find Writing 121 rather boring. Set topics, more argumentative writing... I just have troubles writing like that. Feel free to read the story entry in my journal. I'd love to get some crits and comments on it. No one seems to want to give any.
