I look up and I see the night
The stars shine with all their glory
The spaces between filled with darkness that consumes me
The darkness that makes me whole
And as if I am home
I look around to see what surronds me
I see my territory
The place that is mine
The area that i defend
With my ears i hear the night
The sounds that fill the air are deafining
Each one distinct and alone
Each sound I hear I know and understand
A new sound echos across my land
My ears listen
My eyes search
And the hunger that wells up in me begs for me to go
I begin my hunt
Something that is a ritual
As well as a right
I creep, I crawl
Any means to me to reach my prey without its knowledge
I track it, I follow it
Following the instincts that i have honed to perfection
There! In the shadows it stands
I can smell its fear, I can hear its racing heart
I bare my teeth in a snarl of greed
I creep as close as I can to my prey
Fast moving as if i wasn't there i strike
The blood, the screams, and the joy of the kill
All driving deep into me the pleasure that i know so much
My prey is dead and its blood is spilt across my land and myself
My hunger I sedated for now and I know that soon it will be back
Only to beg and drive me to another kill
But that is ok I don't mind
Its a part fo me
Something that i will never deny or question
I am no animal, nor am i human
I am not living nor am i Dead
I live in the Night
I was born in it
Its a part of me

Darkened clouds flow across the sky,
A flash of lightning, an explosion of thunder,
The pounding of rain all around me,
A rain that splatters against my skin,
washing away the torment of my thoughts and pain,
The thoughts that have plagued my mind begin to fade,
Slowly they drift away but i relive them as they fade,
My sweet happy family standing by our home,
A flash of white and sword grasped in my hand,
Then screaming and running figures that drop like flies,
blood spraying around, coating everything,
finally a lone figure walking away from the slaughter,
I open my eyes and look down at my blood stained hands,
A smile creeps across my face and one thought echos through my mind,
a loud thought that drives me to the deepest of calms,
I AM FREE.
