I am an oxymoron, a contradiction in terms.

I am everything at once, and yet nothing at all.

You've never met anyone like me, yet I am just like everyone else.

I am neither here nor there, never have been and always will be.

I am within and without, beyond time and space, but forever confined to the here and now.

My confinement is my freedom, my loss is my gain.

I am bound in a prison of my own choosing. I religiously commit myself to medication for mental illness.

I do this for the safety and happiness of those I love, despite the fact that I am allowing myself to be robbed of all emotion, all fulfillment, and the opportunity to live my own life and be myself again.

This past year my daughter was kidnapped by her birth father, and my custodial rights were terminated. I don't know when I will be able to see her again.

But I am determined to not allow this to leave me bitter and angry.

The best thing I can do for she and myself right now is to learn to be happy, despite the pain.

But between the medication and the heartache, I often find it hard to see the forest for the trees.

As dim as it may be at times, I know the light which shines from within myself will eventually guide me to where I need to be.

...But it's going to take a while.

The mask I wear here is not to deceive you. I wear it to protect my family, and to protect whatever chance I may have at getting my daughter back home.

I can be dark.

I can be bubbly.

But what I am *not*, is fake.

I live my life through honesty and truth; my heart is transparent. If you have a question, please ask.
