Fragments from Vampire Rave, the old internet and a life online.
Mostly circa 2006. Memory not guaranteed.

THE LOST COVEN OF LA PETITE MORT

Once upon a time on Vampire Rave, I was the Coven Mistress of
La Petite Mort.

The Coven was created as a place for creativity, individuality,
friendship and learning. It was divided into five Halls,
representing the five points of the pentagram:

Hall of Aqua
Hall of Flames
Hall of Winds
Hall of Souls
Hall of Stones

Each Hall had its own Lord or Lady, members, projects,
artwork and mythology.

Twenty years later I started digging through old hard drives
and discovered that rather more of it survived than I expected.

Apparently I accidentally preserved an archaeological site.

THE CREST

I created the original La Petite Mort crest myself.

And thanks to a surviving FAQ, I even know what all of this
meant.

	The Pentacle Represented the five elements and the five Halls of the Coven.
	Dagaz The rune represented change, growth, progress and new opportunities.
	The Waves Water gives life, cleans and purifies – but can also destroy when it is not respected.
	The Triskel Represented the power of three and balance: mind, body and spirit.
	The Blue Seastar The symbol of La Petite Mort. Its five arms connected it to the pentagram and its ability to regenerate represented survival and renewal. We are indestructible and always find a way out of a bad situation.

Archaeological note: The creatures on the crest are seahorses.
They are NOT dragons. Apparently this clarification is necessary.

THE HALL OF AQUA

My own Hall.

I was Lady Kat of the Hall of Aqua and its Gatekeeper
was the Seahorse – which also appeared in the Coven crest.

The Hall contained stories about water, mythology,
ocean creatures and the deities of the seven seas.

It also apparently had looping water sounds.

At least I think they were water sounds.

It has been twenty years. Give me a break.

Gatekeeper: Seahorse

FLAMES
Gatekeeper: Phoenix

WINDS
Gatekeepers: The Furies

SOULS
Gatekeeper: Cerberus

STONES
Gatekeeper: Centaur

Yes, several of these pages had sound effects on autoplay.
It was 2006. We feared neither bandwidth nor our visitors.

ARTIFACTS FROM THE DIG

Old banners, member graphics, stamps, profile decorations
and other fragments survived.
Some I remember making.
Some I remember receiving.
Some I have absolutely no idea about anymore.

That is why this is archaeology.

TECHNOLOGY OF THE ANCIENTS

At some point I apparently embedded a Windows Media Player
file called crash.wmv.

Our current archaeological theory is that it contained
the sound of crashing waves.

Kat remembers absolutely nothing.

Ritual purpose: unknown.

Excavation ongoing.
More artifacts will be added as they emerge from the ancient hard drives.
