One of my best friends, Lenny was rattlesnake hunting. He and I have done it several times, although, I have more than a healthy respect for them, and killed several, when i lived in Hacienda Heights, CA, and Riverside/San Bernadino Counties. Well, he took a rookie with him who handled a snake wrong, and Len was struck twice in the neck. Although the snake was secured by others, the nearest REACT station was too far away, and he crossed over, this past Monday. People need to be careful when handling these animals. Having hunted rattlers with him and others if you live where they are, be careful. If you live in such an area get a small CO2 fire extinguisher. Snakes are cold blooded, and CO2 runs your fridge/freezers, and will literally knock them senseless I've used them several times with great success.

If you are near paths, I suggest a 2 forked stick with sharpies-lots of them, and the stick be at least 5 feet long and at least an inch thick.
