Amaranth: A tragedy in two parts
Alluringaurelia
I
A maiden fair down by the river stood
Gathering sweet flowers for her true love
Waiting very patiently as she could
Her heart beating like the wings of a dove
Quietly creeping he came from the trees
He jumped out and surprised her with a ring
She screamed with joy and gave him a great squeeze
He kissed her softly not caring a thing
The Love that they shared knew no boundaries
The kind that would outlast the world and more
Everyday lived in their memories
And they danced barefoot on the forest floor
Said he, tousling her hair, "Forever?"
And she, "We will always be together."
II
He stares out the window into the rain
He's clutching the revolver at his side
"How could I make her feel such awful pain?"
Pounding in his head is his shattered pride
Sobbing he raises the gun to his head
Reminiscing about times long gone past
Shouldn't have taken another to bed
He wants to end this suffering at last
There is nothing left in his world at all
The guilt he has eats away his damned soul
With the gun in hand he raises up tall
Pulls the trigger and lets the hammer roll
In a pool of blood lay he on the floor
Only left to decay and nothing more
