The hero of the story, Bulan is number 13 of the experiments performed by Professor Maxon, and he turns out to be a perfect specimen of a man in body and mind. The only problem? There happen to be 12 “monsters” created before him, running around on a jungle island. Professor Maxon’s pretty daughter, Virginia, is in danger. Can Bulan get to her in time? What is the meaning of humanity? Can something that has been "created," have a soul?
