The Transformers Animated Leader Ultra Magnus is an almost overwhelmingly impressive figure, noteworthy in that he’s a freestanding robot rather than an alternate version of one of the Optimus Prime molds. The imposing Leader Class Ultra Magnus transforms into an eight-wheeled Decepticon-pulverizing missile transport. His color scheme is varyingly reminiscent of the battle-armored Gen 1 Ultra Magnus. Ultra Magnus encapsulates hidden weaponry including flip-out machine cannons, and is equipped with a massive spring-loaded warhammer. He features an array of light and sound effects, and appears to feature articulation at the neck, shoulders, elbows, base finger joints, tassets, hips and knees. A disciplined veteran of the Great War, Ultra Magnus is the Supreme Commander of the Autobots and is the leader of the Cybertron Elite Guard. Vaguely stirred by Optimus Prime’s assertion to have discovered the location of the fabled AllSpark, Ultra Magnus is accompanied by Jazz and Sentinel Prime in the course of a tentative reconnaissance mission to Earth.
