Stolen Art
The star-crossed quill writes of death and dreams,
The writer without readers sees every overlooked gleam.
The muse is a given and doesn't come with time,
It's a chronic flow, and never a forced rhyme.
Free verse is saved for the storyline-
This Toreador aims for the lyric shine.
I'll drain your life for the ink of my ill-fated pen,
I'm an equal opportunity drinker of both women and men.
I'll draw the scene from your everyday plight,
You feel the pain and my words take flight.
Just go carry out your usual day,
I'll take from you in my unusual way.
Your roller coaster world is the food of my soul-
I will twist and turn it in my magic mixing bowl.
From there I will pour it onto my drafting sheet,
Cutting out pieces I don't think are so neat.
Your feelings do not matter, it's my masterpiece-
It's an interesting concept to say the least.
You only knew the vampire as the one with the teeth-
Sorry mortals focus on surface, and ignore what's beneath.
