The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

A television spin-off of the film Blood: The Last Vampire. It follows the story of Saya, a seemingly young school girl, and her fight against Chiropterans (vampire-like monsters) whilst learning about her past and herself. She joins forces with the Red Shield, an organization dedicated to wiping out Chiropterans and their "Mother." She is accompanied by her faithful servant Haji (a "Chevalier"), as well as her brothers Kai and Riku. As the story progresses she discovers that there is a stronger connection between her and the creator of Chiropterans than just that of enemies....

This series is very well-animated. It is gory and dark, but without losing its sense of human emotion. It preserves very little of the movie on which it is based, so do not expect a sequel to Blood: The Last Vampire. The series takes an entirely different path.

As of now the series consists of fifty episodes, though there are some rumors that there will be a continuation sometime in the future. Nothing is confirmed yet.

It premiered in America for the first time on March 18th, 2007 on Adult Swim.
