In the fourth installment of The Tree House of Horror Halloween specials, Bart Simpson introduces three tales, ala the old Night Gallery series.
1. "The Devil and Homer Simpson"
- When Homer falls asleep at work, Carl and Lenny eat all the doughnuts. When he realizes that all the nearest doughnuts are gone, he decides to sell his soul for a doughnut. Flanders, dressed up as the devil, comes up and signs a contract with him, causing more mischief than Homer thought. (Homage to all Faustian tales.)
2. "Terror at 5 1/2 Feet"
- Bart dreams about dying on the schoolbus, and later realizes, that his dream is coming true when he is the only one to see a gremlin taking apart the bus piece by piece. (Homage to a Twilight Zone episode, also in the feature film.)
3. "Bart Simpson's Dracula"
- Mr. Burns is a vampire living in Pennsylvania (clap of thunder!) and Bart falls victim to his bite. Lisa convinces the rest of the family they must go to his castle and kill Burns. (Homage to the film "Bram Stoker's Dracula", "The Lost Boys", and countless other vampire movies.)
The "Treehouse of Horror" DVD (2003) only includes Halloween Specials 5, 6, 7, and 12! Season Five is not yet available on DVD, but is slated for release in 2005. (Season 4 just came out June 2004.)
Lisa: It's so nice to have everything back to normal.
(Grampa flies in dressed like a vampire)
Grampa: I'm a vampire, and I've come to suck your blood.
(Grampa's teeth falls out and fly into the fridge like a coffin.)
Grampa: This cape is giving me a rash.
Lisa: Grampa's a vampire?!
Bart: We're all vampires.
(Everybody flies up except Lisa)
Lisa: But no, we killed Mr.Burns.
Homer: You have to kill the head vampire.
Lisa: (gasps) You're the head vampire?!
Marge: No, I'm the head vampire. HA HA HA HA HA!!
Lisa: Mom?!
Marge: Well I do have a life outside this house you know.
(Everybody starts to attack Lisa but stops)
Everybody: Happy Halloween Everybody!
(Everybody starts howling)
