I hear the feet pounding on wet pavement,
The rain falling down as though from a fountain,
The sound of a panicked heartbeat near by;
My tongue slides over my lips in expectation,
I move towards the sound of that lovely heart,
Silent as the ghostly wind;
The sounds of the feet pounding on the pavement,
My prey is moving to they alley,
They shall have no escape.
A shiver slides up my spine as I hear them stop,
Their whispered prayers music to my ears;
I stay within the shadows,
Watching the vein in their neck jump in time with their heart,
My tongue tingling for a taste of their blood.
I move with a graceful step from the shadows,
Relishing the scream they give once they see me;
They back into the wall as I smile oh so sweetly,
My fangs flashing in the moonlight as I step closer;
Their heart beat triples it's rate,
Making me salivate at the sound of their blood pumping,
I move ever closer, closer,
Until I am right in front of them;
I murmur sweet words to make them relax.
I lean forward with my tongue slipping from between my parted lips,
Sliding it slowly over the jumping vein to elicit a shiver and chills,
My lips part further before I bite down,
A moan coming from me at the sweet, sweet taste rolling into my mouth;
Their hot blood rolling over my tongue as I listen to their heart,
It slows to a halting beat,
Then it stutters before stopping completely;
I pull back with a smooth motion,
A thin crimson line trailing down my pale chin;
I have killed again,
I enjoyed it,
I shall never get enough of this sweet nectar,
For I am a Vampire.
